Chapter 115: Chapter 115: Self-Disarray (1)
"I’m okay." Mia Ginger steadied herself and temporarily stopped walking.
She touched her face.
It was a bit hot, making her very uncomfortable.
Even her entire skin felt a bit itchy, making her want to scratch.
Was there something wrong with that glass of juice?
Or was there an issue with the cake she just ate?
Mia Ginger pressed her lips, thinking, and couldn’t help but look at Zuri Ginger again. Almost instantly, she was certain that the glass of juice Zuri served had a problem.
At this moment, Zuri Ginger and Edward Davis also stopped at the side. Zuri looked panicked and was looking at her from a distance with disbelief, as if to confirm if she was alright.
Her skin was sensitive, but she only took one sip. Apart from some heat and itchiness, there wasn’t too much of a reaction.
But Zuri was different.
She was holding onto Edward Davis’s wrist, and she was not in a good state.
It felt like there were bugs crawling all over her body. She wanted to scratch, to claw, to rub against the fabric of her dress. Especially with her fingers on Edward’s wrist, the sensation of their skin touching almost drove her crazy, uncontrollable.
"What’s wrong?" Edward Davis glanced at her gloomily, "Are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere?"
"No, I’m not uncomfortable." Zuri Ginger bit her lip tightly, like an electric shock, she released Edward’s wrist and headed upstairs.
What was there not to understand?
That glass of juice had somehow been drunk by her!
Mia Ginger?
It must be Mia Ginger!
The fury inside Zuri surged out, and she instinctively grabbed her dress again. Out of the corner of her eye, Mia was walking quickly towards her.
No!
She couldn’t go upstairs!
Mia might hesitate, but once she saw how broken she was, it would surely become known to everyone. By then—
Zuri simply couldn’t bear to think further.
The Ginger family was full of people; she couldn’t go anywhere!
Mia’s footsteps were already at her ears. Zuri suddenly turned around, quickly walked two steps, and grabbed Edward Davis’s arm.
"Hey..."
Edward Davis started to speak, but Zuri interlocked arms with him and quickly walked out, saying as she walked, "Let’s go out, take me... take me away from here, please."
"Leave?" Edward Davis tried to pull his hand back, "Are you kidding? The birthday banquet is about to officially begin. Your dad will definitely want you on stage. I can’t take you away."
"No one will notice us." Zuri was already finding it hard to control herself, sweat began to form on her forehead, "Let’s go quickly, I... I’ve been drugged."
"What?"
"I’ve been drugged, I feel terrible."
Zuri couldn’t help but lean into his embrace, rubbing against him.
With a warm and soft fragrance in his arms, Edward Davis was stunned for a moment, then hurriedly led her out.
Mia quickly followed the two, watching as they were about to leave the hall, her steps became even faster.
Caiden Ward grabbed her, "What’s wrong?"
"Nothing, let me go." Rushing, Mia said breathlessly, her white cheek slightly flushed. That redness seemed to break out from her thin and delicate skin, for a moment, it was a breathtaking beauty.
Caiden was stunned, immediately releasing her and moving his gaze aside.
Mia hadn’t taken more than two steps when she met Lydia Williams, Marianne Jackson, and an unfamiliar lady entering the door.
Lydia Williams smiled and said, "Mia."
Marianne Jackson also forced a smile, "Sister Mia."
In her vision, Zuri and Edward had disappeared. Mia took a deep breath and reluctantly stopped.
She curled her lips into a smile, "Hello, Madam Jackson."
Her last words were clearly directed, and Madam Ward smiled but hadn’t spoken yet when Caiden Ward introduced, "This is my mom."
