Chapter 112: Chapter 112(2)

Louis Cox let go of him.

Edward Davis nodded and smiled at Ivy Cox, and then left with a tingling scalp.

Louis Cox bent down to pick up the little girl, tapped her cheek, and said, "Uncle has something to do. Be a good girl, Maeve, and go play with your mom. See that," he pointed casually with a smile, "there’s cake over there."

"I don’t want to eat it." The little girl clung tightly to his neck, snuggling around.

With her round and chubby appearance, she was absolutely adorable. Mia Ginger was momentarily stunned, and then her lips curled into a smile as she curiously asked, "You have such a big niece?"

"Indeed," Louis Cox pouted, "she’s like a little tail that follows me everywhere. It’s quite annoying."

Beside them, Ivy Cox playfully punched his shoulder and said with mock annoyance, "If she’s annoying, give her to me. I bet she wouldn’t even want you to hold her. Seriously."

"I want uncle, not mom." The little girl clung tighter to Louis Cox’s neck, waving a hand to swat at Ivy Cox and pouting unhappily.

"Hey." Ivy Cox looked at her with feigned annoyance, then wrapped an arm around Mia Ginger’s shoulder and winked, "You don’t want me, huh? Then I don’t want you either. From now on, you’ll just play with this sister, and I’ll give you to uncle."

"Ah!" The little girl glanced between Ivy Cox, Mia Ginger, and finally Louis Cox.

After a moment, she obediently reached her arms out to Ivy Cox for a hug and earnestly said, "Uncle, I’ll stick with mom. You go play with the pretty sister."

Ivy Cox scooped up the little girl and planted a kiss on her cheek.

She was wearing lipstick, and the lipstick mark was left on the little girl’s cheek. Unable to resist laughing, she used her slender finger to wipe it away.

Each expression was charming, possessing a kind of innocent, lovable demeanor.

This expression should generally be seen on the faces of children, especially those who are pampered and adored little girls.

Mia Ginger couldn’t help being momentarily dazed.

Louis Cox led her by the wrist, got under the lights, and casually explained, "That’s my third sister. When she heard I was attending the party, she insisted on tagging along. And that child is her daughter. You can just call her Maeve when you see her in the future."

"Your third sister?"

Mia Ginger paused for a moment, then realized, "Ivy...Cox?"

Ivy Cox was the most unconventional daughter of the Cox Family. Mia Ginger had heard about her from Louis Cox and others, knew that she had married into a wealthy family, being a full twenty-four years younger than her husband, and knew that she had had three children in seven years, being very much favored, which in turn had elevated the Cox Family’s status.

In her imagination, she must be an irresistibly beautiful and charming woman.

Unexpectedly, when meeting her in person, Mia Ginger discovered that Ivy Cox wasn’t exactly a stunning beauty; her allure and charm were in her voice and demeanor. She had a charmingly naive and pretty face.

Her eyes and brows carried an innocent, childlike charm, just like the little girl in her arms who was over five years old.

"That’s her," Louis Cox’s expression carried a naturally warm and intimate vibe, merely said, then suddenly changed the subject, "You look really beautiful today."

"..." Mia Ginger glanced at him, pursed her lips slightly, and turned to leave.

Louis Cox directly grabbed her wrist and said with a smile, "Alright, alright, let’s not talk about that today, okay? It’s your birthday, you’re the boss today. I’m here to be your dance partner."

"You?" Mia Ginger sized him up, "You know how to dance?"

"Come on, don’t underestimate me," Louis Cox said with mock annoyance, slipping a hand under her armpit to hold her back, raising an eyebrow, "I might not be top-tier, but I’m more than capable of leading you."

"Uh..."

Mia Ginger hadn’t finished speaking when Louis Cox took hold of her wrist with his other hand.

He led her directly under the lights.
