Chapter 532: Swords Have No Eyes
Chapter 532: Chapter 532: Swords Have No Eyes
After about half an hour, the group finally reached the transportation area. Along the way, Qin Jun casually bought some fine wine and roasted chicken and goose. The journey was dull, and only delicacies and fine wine could alleviate the boredom.
The transportation area was crowded, but with the appearances of Diting and Zhu Bajie, the surrounding cultivators quickly scurried away.
In the Eastern Flame Domain, the fear that human cultivators had for the Demon Clan was not as great as it was in the Southern Domain, and it was common to see demonic beasts in the cities. However, the formidable appearances of Zhu Bajie and Diting truly frightened people.
After wandering around for the time it takes an incense stick to burn, Qin Jun finally found the teleportation point to Bianhai City, which is located on the border of the Eastern Flame Domain and also connects to the Southernmost Sea.
"Take us to Bianhai City!"
The Nine-headed Insect spoke up. The bald cultivator standing in front of the teleportation gate glanced back at Qin Jun and the others, his expression immediately turning strange.
He shook his head with a wry smile, "Not possible at the moment, at least not until dusk."
"Why?" Qin Jun frowned and asked, his gaze shifting to the teleportation gate, noticing some small cracks on it.
The bald cultivator replied helplessly with a smile, "There’s been a mishap, and we’re fixing it. Surely we can’t risk you encountering danger during the teleportation."
Qin Jun nodded. He couldn’t help but ask, "Apart from this one, are there any other teleportation gates to Bianhai City?"
"No more, if you don’t believe me, you can ask others. Bianhai City is near the treacherous Southernmost Sea, rampant with sea beasts; it’s very dangerous, and few people go there. Hence, business isn’t good, and others have not been able to hang on," said the bald cultivator, waving his hand and signaling to two cultivators who looked like servants next to the gate to continue repairing it.
Upon hearing this, Qin Jun had no choice but to give up.
He turned back to Liu Ruolai and earnestly said, "This is your last chance, are you sure you won’t go back?"
Liu Ruolai turned her head and huffed, "No, if I go back I’ll regret it for a lifetime. I’ll follow you, even if it means becoming a maid!"
She didn’t want to be a pawn in a noble clan’s marriage arrangement. Following Qin Jun would at least make for an exciting life filled with adventures.
Qin Jun couldn’t be bothered to argue. At the very least, having this girl by his side would make things less boring.
With a formidable group like Yang Jian, Tang Sanzang, the Nine-headed Insect, and Zhu Bajie, sweeping through the Southernmost Sea should pose no problem.
The Southernmost Sea, controlled by the God Temple, surely wasn’t as powerful as the God Temple itself; otherwise, it would have risen to rule already.
Afterwards, Qin Jun and the others had no choice but to leave the transportation area, wandering around and waiting for dusk to arrive.
Before long, cultivators riding demonic birds appeared in the sky over Dongfang City, while all the city gates were sealed, prohibiting entry and exit.
Luo Xiye sat on a pavilion, his face utterly devoid of color, his lips pale. His bare upper body was wrapped in white cloth around the chest, and fresh blood was staining the cloth increasingly red.
"They must be caught, I want them to suffer worse than death!"
Luo Xiye bellowed, causing his serving maid to tremble in fear.
At that moment, a middle-aged man entered. He was tall, dressed in luxurious yellow clothing, with thick eyebrows deeply furrowed and anger in his eyes. Seeing Luo Xiye behaving like a beast, he was infuriated and scolded sharply, "You worthless thing! I had just entrusted you with the Fire-Hoofed Fierce Horse, and you had to strut around the city showing off. I am certainly not the city lord of Dongfang City!"
Hearing this, Luo Xiye quickly turned around and, upon recognizing his own father, hurriedly fell to his knees, sobbing, "Father, please make them pay for what they did to your son!"
The middle-aged man in yellow grew even more enraged, sending Luo Xiye flying with a wave of his sleeve, slamming him against a wall and causing the entire pavilion to tremble slightly.
"You will be the death of me one day!" he cursed angrily, well aware that there were plenty of stories about families being destroyed due to the misdeeds of to their profligate members.
Yet as much as he cursed, he didn’t really believe it. He was, after all, an official in the God Temple, and though not of particularly high standing, he was at least above the city lord and on par with the domain master. Within the Eastern Flame Domain, he truly feared no one.
Luo Xiye, lying on the floor in spasms, had eyes bloodshot with venomous hatred. He didn’t hate his father, but rather, he hated Qin Jun.
Feeling happy that day, Luo Xiye had planned to ride the Fire-Hoofed Fierce Horse to show off a bit, only for Qin Jun to unexpectedly confront him along the way.
This person felt no remorse; instead, he believed that it was Qin Jun who had provoked him.
Suddenly, the city began a manhunt for Qin Jun and the others, sparking much discussion among the citizens and cultivators.
"What’s happening? Why all this commotion?"
"Isn’t it because Luo Xiye was severely injured by someone?"
"Luo Xiye? Hiss—who would be so bold?"
"They must be newcomers to Dongfang City, unaware of Luo Xiye’s background."
"How preposterous, are we, the mighty Eastern Flame Domain, to be bullied by the God Temple?"
Various discussions buzzed around, with most people taking pleasure in the misfortune, feeling no sympathy for Luo Xiye, but instead finding it satisfying.
However, having provoked Luo Xiye, Qin Jun and his group were likely not going to have a good end.
At that moment, Qin Jun and his companions were eating and drinking in an inn.
It must be said that the Eastern Flame Domain indeed far surpassed the Southern Domain; even the spiritual essence contained in the food from Dongfang City surpassed that in the Holy City’s.
"Your Majesty, it seems the other party has made their move," Tang Sanzang said with a smile.
Qin Jun, while drinking, simply waved his hand dismissively, and the rest of them also smiled, unconcerned.
Liu Ruolai rested her chin on her hands, looking at Qin Jun and said, "The city lord of Dongfang City is from the Dongfang Family, and the clan leader of the Dongfang Family is the current Domain Master of the Eastern Flame Domain."
Qin Jun wiped the wine from the corner of his mouth and laughed, "Even the Night Emperor was taken down by Yang Jian, do you think the Dongfang Domain Master could do anything to me?"
Liu Ruolai thought it over carefully and realized it made sense. It was rumored that even the Dongfang Domain Master could not match the Night Emperor.
In that case, wouldn’t Qin Jun and his group be invincible?
The thought made her gaze towards Qin Jun change significantly.
Having just a few followers yet being able to traverse the Eastern Flame Domain unchallenged was something she would have never believed in the past.
Just then, a group of soldiers suddenly burst into the inn, heading straight for Qin Jun and his companions.
Earlier on the city gates’ streets, there had been plenty of people who saw Qin Jun and his group, with their odd composition and high recognizability, making it easy to track them down.
Before Qin Jun could say anything more, the Nine-headed Insect stood up first.
Yang Jian and Jin Chanzi didn’t even look back; such small fry were simply beneath their notice.
"Surrender now, or don’t blame us if the swords show no mercy!" bellowed the leading general, causing the cultivators in the inn to flee quickly, while the innkeeper silently lamented. From the moment Qin Jun and his companions walked in, he had a bad feeling because the group was too peculiar.
"Scram—"
The Nine-headed Insect thundered, his rolling voice turning from invisible to tangible, blowing the soldiers away and even smashing the inn’s wall panel. A fierce wind wreaked havoc on the street outside, scaring away the watching cultivators and creating a chaotic scene, as if a flock of chickens had been scattered by a dog.
Qin Jun picked his ear, saying, "This fiend is really stirring up trouble. With such a shout, isn’t he inviting all the enemies to come over?"
It seemed he couldn’t relax and wait any longer.
