Chapter 389: Chapter 389: Small World

Qin Jun, Fairy Chang’e, Nezha, and a soldier bearing news rode the clouds swiftly, making for Yumen Pass through the night.

The Evening Star, Eight Immortals, Taming Dragon Arhat, and a hundred thousand soldiers had been sucked into the Mysterious Canyon, their fates unknown; how could Qin Jun be at ease, especially when the Taming Dragon Arhat was an imposing presence at the pinnacle of the Golden Immortal Realm?

"You all must be careful later, and by no means should you take it lightly!" Qin Jun cautioned. If even the pinnacle of the Golden Immortal Realm encountered mishaps, who could ensure that those from the higher levels of the Golden Immortal Realm wouldn’t meet with accidents?

Qin Jun was puzzled. How could such bizarre events occur in his kingdom?

Even the peak experts of the Golden Immortal Realm had capsized; such a canyon could probably plunge the entire Southern Domain into panic.

Alas!

Could his luck be any worse?

It seems that after a long streak of good fortune, the tide had turned.

Qin Jun inwardly lamented. Nezha seemed very excited, Fairy Chang’e was as indifferent as ever, and the soldier who had brought the news was shivering non-stop, extremely nervous.

From the royal capital to Yuguan City was far for the common man, but near for a powerful expert of the Greater Golden Immortal Realm.

In less than the time it takes an incense stick to burn, they had arrived at Yuguan City.

Famed for its natural defenses, Qin Jun looked down to find that the once magnificent city walls were unblemished, replaced instead by a seemingly bottomless canyon. The disparity in height between the two sides of the canyon was extreme, reaching five hundred meters. Beneath the night sky, looking down from high above, it appeared like a black dragon coiling on the surface of the earth.

Upon first seeing the Mysterious Canyon, Qin Jun felt dizzy and disoriented, the sensation sending shivers down his spine.

"There are prohibitions hidden within this canyon!"

Fairy Chang’e spoke, her elegant eyebrows furrowed tightly, indicating the seriousness of the situation by her own deep concern.

Nezha stared thoughtfully at the canyon below, seemingly pondering how it had come to be.

According to what Liu Bowen had said, the canyon had appeared out of nowhere. If that was the case, who was behind it?

Qin Jun’s frown deepened. He turned to look at the soldier bearing news—who was extremely tense—and said, "Nezha, take him to the city of Yuguan."

Nezha nodded and with a wave of his hand, the soldier’s body involuntarily flew away.

Out of caution, Qin Jun took out the Armillary Sash and poured his spiritual power into it, and one by one, Netherworld Soldiers appeared in the air around them. The sight of the ghostly soldiers was horrifying; each emitted a green glow, maintaining a chilling presence, which made Nezha and Fairy Chang’e visibly moved.

Qin Jun rarely used the Armillary Sash; firstly, because Netherworld Soldiers of Golden Elixir Realm strength were no longer of interest to him, and secondly, because it exposed his ace in the hole from the netherworld he didn’t want to reveal frequently.

For example, he had not mentioned the Ox-Head and Horse-Face spirits to a second person to this day.

"You, you, you, go down and take a look!"

Qin Jun casually directed three of the Netherworld Soldiers. With the Armillary Sash in hand, they dared not disobey him and obediently flew toward the canyon.

Soon, they vanished into the darkness.

"Ghostly soldiers, Your Majesty is truly ruthless," Fairy Chang’e said meaningfully, causing the corner of Qin Jun’s mouth to twitch.

Refining ghosts into a magical instrument was an extremely cruel act. Even within the Demonic Dao, few would do such a thing.

Qin Jun felt like he was caught with mud on his pants, not feces, yet still feces.

"This item is called the Armillary Sash; it was a gift to me," Qin Jun flippantly explained. If Fairy Chang’e still did not believe him, there was nothing he could do.

Fairy Chang’e nodded slightly, without further comment.

As this minor incident passed, they began to await the return of the three Netherworld Soldiers.

However, as time silently passed, the three Netherworld Soldiers still had not emerged, causing Qin Jun’s heart to sink to the abyss.

Even the ghostly soldiers falling down could meet with accidents?

"System, can you discern the origins of this canyon?" Qin Jun asked in his mind, not daring to risk Nezha and Fairy Chang’e seeking dangers without absolute certainty.

"This canyon was born of a provoked prohibition, probably with a long history; however, it has only recently been triggered,"

The System’s reply made Qin Jun curse inwardly. Your words are no different from saying nothing at all!

"How do we resolve this?" Qin Jun continued to ask in his heart, "What happens to people who fall in?"

"I don’t know," the system replied sparingly.

Qin Jun gave it the metaphorical middle finger in his mind.

At this moment, Nezha could no longer sit still. He spoke in a deep voice, "Your Majesty, shall I try going down?"

Qin Jun, however, hesitated. If even Nezha met with misfortune, wouldn’t that be a great loss for him?

"It must be hiding a minor world below!"

Fairy Chang’e suddenly spoke up. She was much older than Nezha and, although she had spent most of her time in the Lunar Palace, she had seen much during the era of the Five Emperors.

Her words made Qin Jun overjoyed, and he asked, "Are you certain?"

If it were a minor world, then the Taming Dragon Arhat, Evening Star, and the Eight Immortals might all be safe.

As for those one hundred thousand soldiers, Qin Jun could not guarantee their safety. After all, the canyon was too deep. Could they have fallen to their deaths?

The soldiers of Great Qin generally did not possess cultivation beyond the Foundation Establishment Realm, so they may indeed have fallen to their deaths.

"There shouldn’t be any mistake," said Chang’e, gently starting her words with a bite of her silver teeth.

Before the sound of her voice faded, Nezha was already plunging down, not even waiting for Qin Jun’s approval.

Qin Jun cursed inwardly, his nerves tightening as he muttered to himself, "You better not disappoint me."

Chang’e’s gaze was fixed intently on the Mysterious Canyon, lost in thought.

With a wave of his hand, Qin Jun gathered the surrounding Netherworld Soldiers back to his side.

The night was bleak and the wind piercingly cold.

Qin Jun and Chang’e stood quietly on the clouds, waiting. Especially Qin Jun, whose heart was a mess of emotions.

About half an hour passed.

Qin Jun’s impatience grew stronger, and he even felt an urge to rush down himself.

Chang’e, on the other hand, was quite calm, waiting with her eyes closed, looking breathtakingly beautiful under the moonlight.

Suddenly, golden light burst forth from below, startling Qin Jun into looking down swiftly, while Chang’e also opened her lovely eyes.

One after another, streaks of golden light shot out from the canyon, sacred and solemn, with faint echoes of Buddhist chants resonating, driving away evil spirits and vanquishing demons, lifting Qin Jun’s spirits with surprise.

It was the voice of the Taming Dragon Arhat!

"Break—"

Nezha’s voice followed closely, and then the Armillary Sash tore through the darkness and flew out.

Qin Jun finally breathed a sigh of relief; apparently, the mysterious barrier couldn’t trouble them after all. That made sense; the highest battle power in the Southern Domain was just at the Golden Immortal Realm. How could there be a mysterious barrier that trapped Golden Immortals? If there were, this place would have become a forbidden zone in the Southern Domain long ago.

Nezha flew out of the canyon first, followed by the Taming Dragon Arhat.

"Why is it only the two of you?" Qin Jun frowned and asked.

Had Evening Star and the Eight Immortals perished just like that?

Nezha, struggling to contain his excitement, said, "Your Majesty, there’s a huge opportunity below!"

A huge opportunity?

Qin Jun was taken aback and promptly asked, "What exactly is going on?"

"Just as Fairy Chang’e said, below is a minor world brimming with countless treasures, spiritual ores, and rivers. The spiritual energy inside exceeds the outside world by more than a hundredfold!"

Nezha’s words made Qin Jun’s eyes widen; luck wasn’t turning its back on him but shining like a long rainbow instead!

"Can I go down?" Qin Jun asked excitedly. If what Nezha said was true, that truly was a huge opportunity, one that could cause the Great Qin Kingdom to rapidly become more powerful!
