The Strongest Mythical Emperor
Chapter 363: Trouble-Maker

Chapter 363: Chapter 363: Trouble-Maker

After You Fenghuang left, Qin Jun continued to pick up the ancient tomes on the table and read. The more he read, the more he understood about this world, and the more interested he became.

Various heavenly materials and earthly treasures, forbidden lands and secret domains, remarkable people and strange scholars, precious beasts and exotic creatures—reading about them all gave him the nostalgic feeling of looking at picture books as a child.

Just then, the sound of footsteps suddenly appeared in the room. He instinctively turned his head to look, only to see Old Man Yi, dressed as disheveled as a beggar, sitting on a chair by the window, grinning at him.

"Oh, you know to come back?"

Qin Jun sarcastically said without any good humor, thinking that this old rascal, who had mysteriously disappeared for a month, had died an unnatural death.

Old Man Yi chuckled, resting his right hand behind his head, left leg lifted to rest on the table in a posture begging to be punched. Digging his nose, he asked with a laugh, "What, you missed me?"

Pfft—

Is this old thing flirting with me?

Qin Jun’s eyes widened as he angrily cursed, "You still have the nerve? If you hadn’t caught the Savage Elephant King, would the Lord of the Flat Sky have come? And you weren’t there during the battle!"

Facing Qin Jun’s accusation, Old Man Yi just chuckled and did not answer.

This infuriating, laid-back demeanor only served to annoy Qin Jun further, and he scolded, "If there’s nothing else, get lost; I don’t welcome you here!"

Did he think this place was a free hostel, to come and go as he pleased?

At that, Old Man Yi slammed the table, startling Qin Jun so much he shook. Damn, you want to fight?

Old Man Yi said righteously, "We have a bond of life and death; I owe you, how can you push me away?"

"Damn! I don’t want your gratitude; just get out of here! The farther, the better!" Qin Jun burst out coarsely. He used to want to draw Old Man Yi to his side as a last resort, but this fellow always disappeared at critical moments. Since he was unreliable, why keep him around?

Old Man Yi’s mouth twitched, clearly not expecting Qin Jun to reject his tactic.

He fake-coughed and said seriously, "Actually, I came back this time specifically with good news for you."

"Get lost, I’m not listening!"

"..."

Old Man Yi was so frustrated. Dealing with someone like Qin Jun, he was at his wit’s end.

Having no other option, he forced himself to resist the urge to rage and began to speak, "I came across another being from the ancient era with only its soul remaining. Guess what I did with it?"

A soul from ancient times...

A sense of foreboding suddenly surged through Qin Jun’s heart. Could it be...

Seeing Qin Jun’s complexion turn ugly, Old Man Yi thought he was getting impatient and hurriedly continued, "I thought to capture it and bring it to you, so I fought with it. The thing was quite strong, and after a lot of effort, it still managed to escape."

Qin Jun remained silent, his expression growing increasingly gloomy as if about to drip water.

He’s definitely caused some trouble...

"As a result, less than three days after it escaped, it came back, stronger than before. Fortunately, I was still able to outmatch it, but regretfully it slipped away again. Then it returned, stronger once again. This cycle repeated, and I thought, this thing must be tremendous. So, I wanted to lure it here for you!"

Old Man Yi grinned, enranging Qin Jun so much that he stood up, flipped the table, his face taut with bulging veins, his eyes bloodshot and frightening.

This was clearly not a benefit, but a calamity led eastward!

"Old Man Yi, don’t go too far!"

Qin Jun pointed at Old Man Yi’s nose and uttered each word deliberately. In the meantime, Nezha and King Huang Feng quickly arrived, as the noise from flipping the table was not subtle.

"Your Majesty, what’s wrong?"

Nezha asked, his gaze turned unfriendly toward Old Man Yi, a hint of shock hidden within, wondering when he had arrived.

He hadn’t noticed a thing!

King Huang Feng did not recognize Old Man Yi, so he simply released a murderous aura, ready to make a move at any moment.

"Oh, there’s another expert from the Golden Immortal Realm, Qin Junior, do you have some powerful backing?" Old Man Yi marveled, and recalling the Wheel of Fate that Qin Jun possessed, he came to a realization.

Anyone who owned the Wheel of Fate was no ordinary person!

"Do you leave on your own, or do I have them show you out?" Qin Jun asked, squinting his eyes. If Nezha and King Huang Feng couldn’t defeat Old Man Yi, he would give up resisting.

He couldn’t oppose the soul of the ancient being that even Old Man Yi feared.

But could this ancient soul be the same one they encountered in Canglan Kingdom?

Qin Jun felt it was highly probable, since only a few powerful beings had survived from ancient times, especially in soul form.

Old Man Yi chuckled and replied, "Don’t be like this..."

"I’ll count to three!"

Qin Jun said impatiently, just about to start counting.

"Roar—"

Just at that moment, a chilling roar came from outside the city, causing Qin Jun to glower at Old Man Yi.

The roar was all too familiar, once making Qin Jun’s hair stand on end. It was the ancient soul released back in Canglan Kingdom, but now its voice carried even more killing intent, becoming positively sinister.

"Let’s go! You’re coming with me!"

Qin Jun said gravely. With things having gotten to this point, he could only settle the scores later.

Old Man Yi chuckled as he walked ahead, with Nezha and King Huang Feng following closely behind.

Once outside, they looked up to find a dark figure suspended in the sky, seemingly made up of swirling black air, with only its outline and bloodshot, eerie eyes visible.

"Steal the sacred treasure of my holy court, an unforgivable crime!"

The ancient soul glared at Old Man Yi with a menacing tone, causing Qin Jun to glare at Old Man Yi, who clearly had hidden the truth.

"Do you still remember me?" Qin Jun quickly spoke up.

The ancient soul turned its gaze to Qin Jun. At the same time, cultivators from various parts of the city took flight, all drawing sharp breaths when they saw the ancient soul.

"My goodness! What is that thing?"

"Am I seeing things?"

"Is that black smoke?"

"A demon or a demon?"

"What is that thing, it looks rather odd..."

The sounds of sharp intakes of breath came from all directions, and the city guards rushed over swiftly.

Facing Qin Jun’s question, the ancient soul’s eyes showed a hint of confusion as he murmured to himself, "It seems I’ve seen you somewhere before."

Qin Jun was elated, seeing a chance to negotiate!

"For some reason, seeing you makes me want to kill you," the ancient soul muttered darkly, almost making Qin Jun spit blood.

Old Man Yi snorted and began to laugh uproariously.

Nezha and King Huang Feng each drew their weapons, feeling the strength of the ancient soul and not daring to take it lightly.

Qin Jun’s brow furrowed; he suddenly remembered that Zhu Yishi, the crown prince of Canglan Kingdom, had his energy absorbed by the ancient soul. Could it be that the hatred also subtly changed the ancient soul?

No wonder he became emperor, even completing the task of claiming the throne before Zhu Yishi. It turned out Zhu Yishi wasn’t dead but living in another form, or rather, he was now a part of the ancient soul.

"Attack!"

Qin Jun commanded sternly. Since negotiations had failed, there was no need for further words!

As he spoke, Nezha mounted Hot Wheels, and King Huang Feng summoned wind beneath his feet. The god and the monster, each wielding their sacred weapons, charged at the ancient soul.
