Chapter 97: An Opportunity

"Sister, you can’t be thinking about..."

Crackle! Boom!

Xavier was not even given a chance to say anything, before a thick bolt of lightning descended on his body. As electric current flashed through his body, Xavier could only look at his sister for the remaining split seconds of his life with immense hatred.

At the same time, he had a fading thought that if he was given a chance, then, he was never going to hesitate even a little. After all, to him, his sister always hated him, denied him of all the freedom, and now that she had gotten a chance, she had decided to kill him off.

And with that thought, he felt his life disappearing, as finally, everything around him went black.

After killing her brother with a bolt of lightning, Jasmine collapsed onto the ground, as she cried. It was not an easy thing for her, dealing with her brother in such a manner, but, she didn’t have any other choice.

Her brother had already committed a mistake, and it was already difficult for her to correct him to come back in the right path. Additionally, even if he was convinced now, there was no way that anybody could predict what he was going to do in the future.

She had already joined Henry’s territory. For that reason, she had to follow all the rules that had been set by him. And currently, she knew that, if there was anyone that tried to do something that was intending to harm a member of the territory, if there was no enough reason, then that person would die the most cruel death.

And currently, her brother had just collaborated with the dark race, leading them where the humans were currently hiding. Additionally, he did not even care about his own kin, but simply his own freedom, trying to make sure that he rose to the top with a single step.

Knowing that her brother was going to die a very cool death in case he landed in Henry’s hands, she decided to give him a quick and swift death.

This could be said to be the last thing that she could do for her brother, ensuring that he passed away swiftly, not being forced to endure a lot of pain.

Currently, she didn’t even know what to tell her father. After all, as she left, she had promised that she was going out to bring her brother back safely. But in the end, she was the one who killed him.

"Young miss, you did the right thing. His heart was not pure, and the more that you keep him around, the more danger you are putting yourself in. Unless you always lock him up, as long as he is free, then he is going to do something even more outrageous in the future." Arthur said to Jasmine as he tried to console her.

Sarah also came over after greeting Henry, and tried to cool Jasmine down. Even though she had never experienced the pain of losing someone so close to her, she could already imagine it, and she felt that it was going to be a very painful experience.

If just thinking of it was already so difficult, then, what about losing a person, and, you yourself being the killer?

But all the same, she didn’t feel any kind of pity towards Xavier. After all, just from the fact that he was standing on the side that was planning to kill his sister, that was enough to tell her that he did not value the relationship that the two of them shared.

"You left, how is the territory going to be protected?" Olivia asked as she stood in front of Henry.

"Adam is there. And, I was quite worried because of the storm. Moreover, I could not communicate with Storm and Diana. So I had no choice but to come over." Henry replied.

Olivia thought about it, and realized that it was completely reasonable. After all, the 3-hour period that had been given to them, had already elapsed. So, it did make sense that Henry would come looking for them.

"Is everything okay?" Henry asked. After all, he did not know what Olivia had experienced, as from the information that he had received from Diana, she and Sarah had only joined the fight not long ago after Diana and the others began fighting with the necromancers.

"Yes. Previously, we also encountered another necromancer. It was just that, that one was at the third level of the Bronze rank. Additionally, it did not have any undead army. Even though it was quite a difficult task to complete, I was still able to deal with it." Olivia replied.

"That’s good then. We have to go back to the territory as soon as possible. The changes that have happened after this second wave is definitely going to be more than just this group of undead. And with the territory currently attracting even more stronger opponents, there might be a visitor at our doors at any moment." Henry said calmly.

Olivia did not have any objection. At the end of the day, the 3-hour period that they had been given was almost over. At the same time, darkness had already began descending, indicating that it was going to be night soon.

After everything was done, the group finally looked for a car that was still in a good condition, and Henry took out the master key, so that it could be used to transport the group.

At the end of the day, they could not all fit inside the jeep that he had come over with. After all the arrangements had been done, the group first headed towards the underground basement.

After they arrived there, Henry and the others decided to leave Jasmine and her group here. They had yet to make arrangements to move to the territory, so, Henry decided to leave Storm here for protection.

At the end of the day, even though currently, Jasmine was not that strong, she would be stronger in the future. So, since she contained immense potential, Henry was not willing to lose her.

With that finally out of the way, the group finally returned to the territory. Even though it was quite difficult for the other vehicle to pass through the swamped city roads, with several areas that have been destroyed during the storm, with the Jeep taking the lead, it opened the way for it.

Not long after Henry’s group had left, a figure suddenly appeared at the battlefield. The figure was wearing a hoodie, just like the Necromancers did.

"Wow, I never expected that there was going to be a change. I don’t know what anomaly had suddenly appeared, but this anomaly has to be eliminated as soon as possible. Otherwise, the dark race is going to have a difficult time dominating the entire human race." A male voice echoed in the air.

As he looked at the surroundings, the man’s eyes narrowed. He could not believe that something like this would happen. This was completely out of their expectation, but still, it was not something that they could not deal with.

"We don’t know what the anomaly is, but, we will have to deal with everything that we consider going out of the expectations. So, if that is the case, then, the entire humans that are present within this city have to be eliminated." The man said loudly once again.

"Our dark race has to get as much advantage as possible during this starting period of the apocalypse. We are lucky that we are the first ones that have been released. The good thing is that, an opportunity is about to arise. And, this is going to be the center. So, as long as we dominate it as soon as possible, then, it will not be hard for us to control the opportunity." The man continued.

"It is just good that we brought over all our manpower. So, even if this group of humans is quite strong, it is not going to be a difficult problem to eliminate them completely. Perhaps some way we might get good seeds that we can nurture into an undead army."

After he was done, he looked towards the direction of the territory that had been built inside this city, the eastern part of the city.

With his eyes narrowed, he said, "It seems that the humans are developing quite fast. But at least, we are going to take action as soon as possible. Otherwise, if they were given a chance, they might really have developed further."

"And with that core, the advantage that we are going to possess will increase. At least, the strength of our race is going to increase, and I’m pretty sure that not many are going to encounter a chance like this, to find a territory call. After all, a territory building token is very hard to find."

After he said that, he finally took a look towards the South, before finally having his body dissipate into a cloud of black smoke. The black smoke lingered in the air, only for a moment, before it headed towards the west.

That was it. The secret of the Apocalypse had begun unveiling themselves one after the other. At the same time, schemes that were currently unknown to the humans, had already begun surfacing.

And, this was not just happening in Crystal City, but, in several cities all around the world. Members of different races had appeared, and, they were all thinking about a single thing, domination.
