The Soul System in the Apocalypse -
Chapter 87: Ranking Up
Chapter 87: Ranking Up
"Olivia, stop it. It is going to do the summoning! It is going to bring its undead army over!" Sarah shouted from the side.
Olivia did not need any reminder from Sarah to do anything. Since this was a fight to the death, then, she was not going to give her opponent a chance.
Ice energy began gathering around her, and the next moment, she slashed forward.
Swoosh!
A beam that was made from ice immediately launched towards the necromancer. The speed and power contained within the beam was not to be underestimated as Olivia had already stopped holding back.
The Necromancer on the other hand had never expected that Olivia possessed such an incredible skill. But still, even though it was surprised, it still managed to react on time.
Being forced to stop the procedure midway, it raised the staff that it was holding in its hand to block the attack.
Bang!
The ice beam collided with the stuff that was in front of the Necromancer. And in the next moment, as if the necromancer had been hit by a truck, It flew backwards at an Incredible speed.
Boom! Bang!
The body of the Necromancer hit the cars that were present in the underground parking lot. The cars were immediately destroyed as if they had been hit by a huge rock that fell from the sky.
At the same time, as the necromancer began coming back to its senses, it was completely shocked. It had never expected that it was going to encounter a human that was this strong.
Olivia wasn’t going to give it a chance, and she immediately attacked again. Hail began falling from the sky, each of them possessing incredible strength and freezing capabilities.
The necromancer’s expression shifted once again. Without any delay, it also utilized the skill that it possessed. Dark energy began emitting from its body and finally formed a dome above it.
The ice stones that were falling from the sky landed on the barrier heavily. But, surprisingly, they were not capable of penetrating it. But still, ripples were formed on the barrier, a clear sign that the attack was having a huge impact on it.
Olivia frowned when she saw this. But still, she didn’t hesitate to attack once again.
Ice prison. The moment that she thought of the skill, suddenly, pillars began appearing around the dome that was protecting the Necromancer.
And in the next moment, the four pillars that had appeared around the dome finally formed a cube that surrounded the dome completely from both sides, top and bottom.
The Necromancer that was hiding inside the dome suddenly realized that changes had occurred. Not only was the attack that was raining on the dome that was protecting it stopped, but, it suddenly felt that the surrounding environment had suddenly chilled.
Using the senses that it possessed, it finally realized that it had been imprisoned. And additionally, inside this prison, the level of the coldness was so high that the necromancer had already begun shaking.
It suddenly felt that the blood within its body had already begun freezing. Even the wounds that it had suffered previously, were no longer bleeding.
Realizing the precarious situation that it was in, the necromancer reacted swiftly. Knowing that if it did not take action and continue to turtle itself up, then, it was going to be killed sooner or later.
Mobilizing the dark energy that it possessed, it suddenly launched a skill. Olivia and Sarah who were outside noticed it, but they could not see the effects of the skill that it had launched.
Olivia was already thinking of a way she could use to breach the barrier that was around the Necromancer, but she could not find any way that she was going to do it.
If the attacks that she had launched had landed on the Necromancer’s body, then, she was sure that she was going to be capable of dealing with it. However, this necromancer was actually way capable than the summoners.
Additionally, the barrier that it had set around itself possessed incredible defenses. No matter how hard she attacked, she had realized that she was not capable of breaching it. So, the only option that she remained with was to imprison the Necromancer, and at the same time, try to make sure that the energy of the necromancer was used up.
Just then, Olivia suddenly realized something. Without hesitation, she turned around and slashed.
Clank!
The sword collided with another metal. And at the same time, Olivia’s expression shifted as she realized that the necromancer that she was holding inside the ice prison was actually out. It was as if it had suddenly vanished from there.
"How can you be so fast?! Humans are not supposed to be this strong during this level of the apocalypse! You are supposed to be weak! You are supposed to be materials that we are supposed to use to gain a foothold in this world!" The Necromancer’s whose attack had been blocked looked at Olivia as it shouted in frustration.
During the time that it had been within the ice prison, it had launched a secret skill that was possessed by the dark race. This was a rare skill that only a few in the dark race possessed.
It was the ability to teleport. Unlike the one that Olivia possessed, the one that was going to consume her energy in order to teleport, the one that the dark race possessed was the one that was going to consume their vitality.
Currently, with the power level that this necromancer possessed, it could only teleport once. So, previously, it had been planning to utilize this chance to launch a sneak attack on Olivia, eliminating her as she was the biggest threat.
But even though it had launched a sneak attack, the attack was still discovered, and it was blocked by Olivia.
Olivia’s expression shifted as she looked at the Necromancer in front of her. At the same time, she began pondering on the words that the Necromancer was saying.
From its words, she could already tell that this necromancer possessed certain knowledge that the humans knew nothing about. That implied that, if possible, if she could get this necromancer alive, then, she might be able to get the secrets that it was hiding.
But, it was a completely risky thing to bring a Necromancer back to the territory. And even though she was curious about the secrets, she wasn’t hesitating at all as she attacked. She was intending to kill the Necromancer as soon as possible so that they could get out of here.
Just from the fact that the Necromancer was expecting that the humans were going to be weak at this moment, she knew that there had to be a scheme in the matter of the apocalypse.
Even she herself, though she was strong, had she faced this necromancer before she received the skills from Henry, then, she would have already been dealt with. Luckily, she had gotten the mysterious skills that she didn’t know the source other than Henry.
With killing intent surging in her eyes, she attacked once again. The Necromancer whose staff had already turned back to a scythe also attacked.
The more the two of them fought, the more the necromancer became frustrated. And no matter how many times it tried to activate a certain skill, it was always interrupted by Olivia.
Sarah on the other hand was watching the battlefield. She had made sure to stay closer to the wall, to ensure that even if a sneak attack was launched against her, then, the direction of the attack would be the three sides.
Just as she continued watching the battle between Olivia and the Necromancer, she suddenly realized that there was a creature that was approaching her. Additionally, the aura that the creature was emitting was extremely filthy and dark.
Had It not been for the fact that she currently possessed the light mage profession, then, she might not have realized that there was something that was approaching her.
With squinted eyes, she turned around and noticed that the guy that had been slashed into two pieces previously, had mysteriously gotten back into one piece. Additionally, it was actually sneaking towards her.
On top of that, the skin on the body of that dead man had already fallen off, and several bones were revealed. Moreover, some parts of the skin had already began rotting, so, Sarah’s nose twitched as she smelled the rotten smell of a corpse.
Without hesitation, she launched the purify skill. It was a three star skill, something that possessed immense destructive power against the dark creatures.
Graaah!
The creature released an inhumane scream that rang throughout the underground parking lot. At the same time, as the light energy began penetrating its body, it began melting.
Sarah gulped as she finally realized that the creature in front of her was actually way stronger than she imagined. The aura that it was emitting was that of a bronze rank apocalyptic creature.
She felt her body shuddering at the thought that this creature was sneaking towards her. Thankfully, the light attack that she had launched was more effective against dark creatures. So, even though she had yet to reach the Bronze rank, Sarah was able to deal with the dark creature.
In no time, it completely melted onto the ground. And with its death, Sarah suddenly felt that the energy in her body had suddenly become slightly chaotic. And in the next moment, the amount of the energy in her body began increasing steadily.
[Congratulations on reaching the Bronze rank in the light mage profession.]
