Chapter 76: The Strongest Person in the City
Chapter 76: The Strongest Person in the City
The moment that Diana took out the bow, her movements became fast and swift. Before the group, that was completely surprised when they realized that their leader had been killed reacted, she had already struck.
Just by using a single arrow, she shot it towards the air. And in the next moment, it’s suddenly began rotating, before finally producing several arrows that were made from wind.
And like the arrow that Diana had shot at the center, all the other arrows that had been made from wind element shot towards the group.
Each arrow was precise and on target. It was obvious that although it was a crowd control skill, it did not just attack anyhow, but instead, each arrow had a target.
It was only during this moment that the group finally reacted. Since their lives were in danger, each and every one of them attempted to block the attack that was heading their way.
But how could the people that were merely in Rank O block an attack from a person who was at the Bronze rank? The attacks simply broke the defenses before finally hitting the target.
And one after the other, dead bodies began dropping onto the ground. All of this happened in just a few seconds, even surprising Jasmine and her group.
As for the arrow that Diana had shot into the air, it finally landed in the middle of the dead bodies after the elemental arrows had already completed the task.
Jasmine and the others all looked at Diana with incredulous gazes. After all, they had never expected that Diana was this strong. Even though Henry had said that Diana was actually of the same level as him, seeing was believing.
"Hurry up so that we can get going. We have to do everything as fast as possible so that we can get back to the territory." Diana said as she looked at Jasmine.
Jasmine finally came out of her reverie, and nodded her head. In the next moment, the group finally took the food carts before pushing them towards the basement area that had a group of people waiting for them.
Diana took the lead, while Storm took the back. Any creature that approached them was killed even before it arrived near them.
...
While all of that was going on, back at the territory, Olivia was facing a group of people with a serious expression on her face.
Had it been just any group of people, then perhaps she would have already dealt with them. But now, things were completely different.
The person in front of her was actually a man with short blonde hair and green eyes. He was handsome and had an athletic figure. And this time, he was currently putting on an armor, while at the same time, he was caring a sword on his back.
Behind the man, there was a group of about 10 people of both genders. And amongst them, Nelson was also present alongside the group that Henry’s group had met during the time that they had just finished fighting with the zombie.
Currently, the man in the lead had a quite ugly expression as he looked at Olivia. At the same time, he looked at the surroundings and saw several dead bodies of zombies and even monsters.
"Olivia, I never expected that you would actually come over but would not come to me." The man said as he looked at Olivia.
"Do I have to report everything to you every time I do something?" Olivia asked coldly.
"Hah! All right, I agree that it is not a must for you to tell me everything you do. But, during this apocalypse, you were supposed to be by my side since you are in Crystal City at this moment. In this way, I can easily protect you." The man sighed and said.
He already knew about Olivia’s personality, and he knew that she liked to be an independent woman. But still, that had to change.
"I can protect myself. I don’t think I need you to do that for me." Olivia responded. At the same time, address of displeasure flashed in her eyes.
"Olivia, you are my fiancée, and that is something that cannot change. Even if the apocalypse has come, it is not going to change the fact that you are my fiancée and you are supposed to marry me." The man shook his head and said.
"Lucas, let me be clear about something. I never agreed to the engagement, and never will I agree to that. And now since the apocalypse has descended, there is no way that I am going to follow some stupid engagement that was made by my father and your parents." Olivia said decisively.
Lucas looked at her in surprise. All this while, this was the first time that she was actually saying it directly to him that she didn’t agree to the engagement between the two of them.
Previously, he had already known that she really didn’t want to marry him. At the same time, even he himself, before meeting her, didn’t really agree to the engagement.
But the moment that the two of them met, he had actually fallen in love with her. And for that reason, he was willing to marry her. And even if she didn’t love back, he was sure that as long as the two of them get married, he was going to be capable of making her love him.
But now, she was actually saying it so bluntly to him, that she did not actually have any feelings for him. This hurt his ego.
"Olivia, I believe that even during this apocalypse, you are strong. But still, you have to know that I have already reached the Bronze rank. For that reason, I do believe that I am the strongest person present in Crystal City." Lucas said arrogantly as he looked at Olivia.
"And even if you don’t want to bother with the engagement that was made before the apocalypse, we can forget about it." Lucas continued.
Olivia was surprised that Lucas was actually agreeing to the annulment of the marriage agreement. So, she was just about to chase him away when suddenly, Lucas continued speaking.
"Instance you are a top beauty, you are only supposed to be married by a strong man. For that reason, since I am the strongest man present in the whole city, I do believe that I am the only man who is currently suitable for marrying you." Lucas said as he spread his hands wide.
When Olivia heard his words, she stared at him with a deadpan expression on her face. In the next moment, she looked at him as if she was looking at a fool.
And after she was sure that Lucas was done with the showing off, she chuckled before saying, "The strongest person in the whole city you say, huh? I even doubt that you have the capabilities of dealing with me currently."
And as she said those words, the surrounding air began dropping in temperature.
At this moment, Lucas also noticed the change, and looked at Olivia with a surprised expression on his face. And the next moment, he asked, "It seems that you want to prove yourself. What about we make a bet? If the two of us fight, and I defeat you cleanly, you will become my wife. But if I lose, I will leave this place and forget about you."
Olivia looked at him sternly and said, "Whether I bet with you or not, and whether I lose or not, there is no way, no date, no circumstance that I am going to agree to marry you."
Lucas furrowed his brows when he heard her say this. He squinted his eyes and said, "If that is the way that you want to play things, then don’t blame me for this. This time, I’m going to prove to you that I have all the capabilities."
"And, it does not matter if you want to marry me or not. At the end of the day, after I defeat you, I’m going to take you back with me. That is something that only the strongest man in the city can do." Lucas said all this with a serious expression on his face.
"Haha, this is so funny. I had never expected that there is actually a group of arrogant and ignorant people still existing even in the apocalypse!" Just before Lucas could make a move, a loud laughter suddenly echoed in the air followed by a set of provoking words.
Lucas frowned and looked towards the direction of the voice. There, he saw that there were actually two people who had arrived and they had not even noticed their presence.
The one that had just spoke was the one that was carrying an axe on his shoulder. Just from his muscular physique, added to the aura that he was emitting, Lucas could already tell that this person was quite strong.
But so what if this person was strong? To him, it didn’t matter. He believed that currently, he was the strongest person present in the whole city. And for that reason, how would he maintain his reputation if just any one was supposed to mock him?
"Young lad, I don’t care who you are, and I don’t care where you are from. So, you can just leave this place as soon as possible before I suddenly lose my temper and deal with you." Lucas looked at the man and said.
Since he still had to deal with Olivia, he didn’t want to involve other people until he was done with what he was currently planning.
