Chapter 385: Madman, Retreat

The battle had suddenly intensified as the two sides intended to eliminate the other. Additionally, all of them had already been consumed by anger, and did not even care about the injuries that they were suffering.

Those that were watching the battle from a distance could not help but be left with their mouths agape. This was actually the first time that they were experiencing such a battle, except for Henry and Dylan.

This level of battle was definitely not something that they could get themselves involved in. Additionally, considering the power level of this city, this was definitely the first time that they were finding that there was actually somebody with this kind of power level.

At this point, all of them were looking forward to reaching that power level. They understood that as the apocalypse progressed, they would be able to get even stronger as they continuously killed apocalyptic creatures to level up.

But nevertheless, they were much more comforted by the fact that the strong person that was currently fighting against that goblin was someone that belonged to this territory. Additionally, it was due to the presence of this person that they were finally capable of dealing with this goblin.

If they were not here, then it was no doubt that this territory was going to be destroyed if the goblins so wished. So, at this point, they realized just how lucky they were that Henry and the others had arrived in this territory on time.

The ground was continuously shaking as the two of them collided as if they were furious bulls. This was actually a battle between two giants with monstrous figures. Although it was true that Adam’s figure was smaller as compared to that of the goblin, but the power that was possessed in that small physique of his was definitely not something that the goblin could underestimate.

And as the battle waged on, the goblin finally realized something. Ever since the time that they had began fighting, Adam had not utilized even a single skill at all. Instead, he was simply depending on his raw strength to attack.

This shocked him to the core. Was a human’s body supposed to be this strong? Additionally, what was this red film that had condensed on Adam’s body? This was definitely completely abnormal for humans, and even in the history of the goblin race, he had not ever heard of anything like this happening to the humans.

It might be true that it was completely impossible to be able to record all the information about the humans, but still, something as unique as the one that was happening to Adam was definitely something that could not be hidden.

Nevertheless, Hurgh continuously fought. There was no way that he was going to give up, and he was still thinking of trying to end the battle as soon as possible, to make sure that he did not drop by a large margin in his power level. Otherwise, if something like that happened, the goblin race would definitely fall at a great disadvantage.

But then again, there was another problem here. Although he was using his earth element affinity in order to deal with Adam, this guy was like a tank, taking all attacks head on.

It was as if he could not feel the pain, despite the fact that currently, he was already covered in blood. But the strange thing was the fact that despite all the injuries that he had been suffering, this guy was continuously fighting, and it seemed that those injuries were actually not having any impact on him.

Of course what Hurgh did not know what the fact that all of this was happening due to the state that Adam was currently in. Additionally, he also possessed a skill called self-regeneration, a skill that allowed Adam to be able to recover from his injuries as long as he possessed energy in his body.

And since Adam was not utilizing his energy in this fight, and energy reserves were being provided by the red aura, he possessed quite a large amount of energy reserve that was being utilized in healing him from the injuries that he was suffering from.

Another thing that completely frustrated Hurgh was the fact that as the two of them continued fighting, he realized that he was continuously gaining a disadvantage. Slowly, he was being pushed back by Adam’s relentless attacks.

This guy was continuously launching attacks as if he was never going to get tired of it. But that was something that Hurgh could not replicate. Additionally, he could not reduce the intensity of his attacks considering that if he did something like that, he was going to fall at an even bigger disadvantage.

The battle between the two of them had already been ongoing for over 30 minutes. Due to that, the energy reserves that Hurgh possessed also began diminishing greatly. After all, with each attack that Adam was launching, in order to block that attack, Hurgh had to utilize a great amount of energy to create a shield in order to block the attack.

And when it came to counter attacking, he had to utilize a large amount of energy as well, in order to be able to deal substantial amount of damage to Adam. Otherwise, there was actually nothing that he was doing to this guy.

But the most irritating thing was the fact that even after he had utilized a large amount of energy in order to deal injuries on Adam, those injuries recovered at a speed visible to the naked eye.

So, although it was true that Adam was covered in blood, most of the blood on his body was the one that had come from the injuries that he had suffered, and some parts of his broken armor where his skin was exposed.

As for the small injuries on his body, those were the ones that had been recently inflicted by Hurgh. But even they were also healing at a great speed, indicating that after a while, they would also disappear.

It was only after fighting for 10 more minutes that Hurgh fell at a great disadvantage that he could not recover from. It was also at this point that he realized that it was definitely impossible to be able to deal with this mad human in front of him.

Additionally, it was not just this human that he was supposed to deal with. Instead, there were actually two other humans that he could not see through. That implied that they definitely possessed power of the same level, or at least of almost the same level.

But even if they were not at the same level as Adam was, the current Hurgh was definitely not going to be capable of dealing with them. After all, his energy reserves had already been depleted, and he did not have recovery potions to help him recover his energy in a short while.

Moreover, during his clash with Adam, it was not as if he was the only one who was inflicting injuries on Adam. Instead, he had also been injured several times. Several of his bones had already been fractured, while a few had already been broken as well.

His red skin that had previously recovered from the effects of the skill had already turned red once again due to the blood that was continuously flowing from the wounds that he had suffered.

The pain that he was getting from the wounds was another thing that was continuously inhibiting his combat power. There was no way that he could fight with his full strength considering the injuries that he had suffered.

Additionally, Adam was taking a great advantage of the moments that he made mistakes due to the injuries, to make sure that he injured him even further. And just like that, Hurgh was completely overwhelmed.

Having already reached this point, Hurgh gritted his teeth as he realized that dignity was not as important as his life was. So, he decided that he was going to retreat from this place. They had already been fighting for over 30 minutes, implying that he was going to have a drop in his power level by at least 3 levels.

The side effect of the skill, bloodline sacrifice was something that would reduce the power level of the user by a single level for every 10 minutes that the skill was active. And right now, he had been utilizing the skill for over 40 minutes to be exact, implying that he was going to drop by four levels.

The only good thing was the fact that the power level that was going to drop was going to start from the current level that he was in with the skill active. That implied that even if he left this place right now, with his power dropping, he was going to be at level 1 of the diamond rank.

Although his power was going to greatly diminish after that, but nevertheless, it was still good enough that he was in the diamond rank. If he dropped into the gold rank, that implied that he would definitely be out of the picture for this stage of the apocalypse when it came to considering the powers present within the surroundings of this city.

Gritting his teeth tightly, completely ignoring his bleeding gums, Hurgh decided to utilize ¾ of all of his remaining energy to launch an attack at Adam.

A gigantic spear suddenly materialized in the air, before it was launched towards Adam. At the same time, Hurgh began retreating. He had to make sure that he took his chance in order to get out of this place. Otherwise, if the others also decided to get involved in this battle, that implied that he was not going to be able to get out of this place alive.

Bang! Booom!

In the face of the incoming attack, Adam did not even try to dodge the attack at all. Instead, tightening his fist, he launched an attack towards the spear. The moment that the two of them collided with each other, an explosion occurred.

Adam was forced to retreat a few steps backwards, giving Hurgh a chance to retreat. The moment that he was given a chance, he did not waste it at all, and immediately rushed into the distance, planning to get out of this place.
