Chapter 337: Provocation, Disrespect

Immediately after Alicia rushed out of the building, she realized that the entire territory was in chaos. Since the military was attacking, almost everybody was preparing for the fight.

Although not everybody was going to fight, but still, the majority of the people within the territory played important roles during fights like these. Some of them were in charge of providing healing potions, replacing the equipment that had been damaged, and dealing with the bodies or cleaning the battlefield.

In short, the territory had already been organized in such a way that almost every person within the territory had been given a duty that he was supposed to carry out.

After leaving the building, Alicia stopped for a moment. After making her observation, she went ahead and got into her own vehicle. The vehicle was kind of advanced considering that it had been upgraded by some of those people that were in charge of engineering and mechanics.

They had already been doing research for several months, and they had gotten ways that they could use to improve the performance of vehicles and other machineries within the territory.

The car that she possessed was an ordinary-looking jeep. But still, the shell of the car was extremely thick, something that improved the defense of the vehicle. But due to this, the speed of the car had been reduced.

Nevertheless, the tires had already been changed into those that belonged to off-road vehicles. Moreover, the power system of the engine had also been improved by the team that was in charge of research, making it possible for the Jeep to be able to move at incredible speeds, almost matching the previous maximum speed that it could go with before the improvement of the defenses.

The Jeep was green in color, a color that Alicia personally liked, and had asked those that were in charge of customizing the Jeep to paint it that way.

The moment that she got into the car, she ignited it and then the next moment, she stepped on the accelerator, driving off at an incredible speed. It was a good thing that there was a road that had already been prepared for vehicles within the territory.

And due to that reason, it was quite easy for her to be able to maneuver within the territory without causing any accidents. Additionally, with her sharp senses, she was able to react quickly according to the situation.

Finally, after driving for about 10 minutes, she arrived at a wall that separated the innermost part of the territory from the outer one. This was also the place where the invisible barrier existed.

When she got there, she finally found the group of people that she was looking for. This was where in case there was a battle that was about to erupt, all the leaders and those that held high positions within the territory would congregate.

Instead of holding meetings within the main territory building, this was where they decided to do the meetings. This was to ensure that they would be able to react effectively according to the changes that occurred on the battlefield, making sure that the losses that the territory was going to suffer were going to be as minimal as possible.

She alighted from the vehicle and headed towards them. The moment that she arrived, everybody looked at her. Of course there was a group of people that was gloating as they looked at her.

It was this group of people that was opposing Alicia. Currently, they had already gotten an advantage over her considering that she had been absent for almost 2 hours ever since the battle erupted.

That was an advantage that they had not let go. Moreover, they used that chance to make sure that the reputation that Alicia possessed dwindled.

The group was congregated inside a small tent. They did not construct a building here, only setting up a tent. The tent possessed dimensions of about 10 m x 12 m.

The tent possessed two entrances that were extremely wide, enabling a person who was looking into the tent from a far to be able to see clearly what was happening inside.

Inside the tent itself, there was a huge rectangular table. Surrounding the table, was a group of chairs that were currently occupied.

What made Alicia’s eyes to turn cold was the fact that currently, the chair that was present at the head of the table was currently occupied. That was the chair that she was supposed to be sitting on, but right now, there was someone that had already sat on it.

This was a clear show of disrespect to the position that she held within the territory. Still, the moment that she arrived, she did not say anything, and simply approached the tent. After entering it, she simply stood in the same position near the entrance of the tent, and looked towards the person who was sitting on the chair that was located at the head of the table

The one who was sitting at the head of the table was a man in his early 50s. He possessed a bald head with a well shaven-chin.

Currently, he was wearing a brown armor that covered his entire body apart from his head and hands. He was currently sitting comfortably on the chair, leaning his back behind as he crossed his hands in front of his chest.

He did not look towards Alicia, although he had already noticed that she had entered. It was clear that he was ignoring her presence, completely unlike some other people who had already gotten on their feet the moment that Alicia entered, giving her a slight bow.

Of course only those people that were on her side were the ones that had reacted. As for the others, although they had gotten to their feet, they did not give Alicia a simple bow of greeting.

Alicia did not care about the group that did not give her the respect that she deserved. According to her, she was going to be able to deal with them as long as she dealt with the military.

The military was the only reason why she was not trying to cause any commotion within the territory. She understood that the military definitely possessed a spy within the territory. So, as long as there was anything that happened within the territory, the military was going to be informed of it.

And as long as there was civil war within the territory, the military was definitely going to take this chance. And, in case the members of the territory were caught completely off-guard, it would be extremely detrimental to them.

As for the group of people that had given her a bow, Alicia gave them a nod in response. Then, she continued standing in the same position, looking at the guy who was currently sitting on her chair.

One of the people that belonged to Alicia’s camp could not take it anymore. He looked furiously at the man who was seated on the main seat and said, "What the heck are you presenting that you don’t know that the leader has already arrived? Aren’t you supposed to be getting out of that chair right now?"

As he spoke, the man’s eyes were extremely cold. They were practically spewing out fire. Had it not been for the fact that he was not strong enough, or had it not been for the fact that they could not fight against each other right now, he would have definitely attacked the man who was still seated on the main seat.

"Ahem!" The man cleared his throat. Then, he looked at the person who had spoked with a cold gaze that was filled with killing intent. But of course, he was trying to control it, making sure that nobody noticed it.

Well, all of that was simply a façade. After all, how could he hide his killing intent in front of all these people? They were extremely strong, at the same level as him or maybe above him. So, how could he hide killing intent from them? It was clear that he was only pretending.

The man then turned around, without getting out of the seat that he was seated on. When he looked at Alicia, his eyes widened, as he acted as if he was completely surprised.

"Oh, leader, I never thought that you had arrived." Even as he said those words, he did not stand up from where he was seated.

Alicia did not respond, and simply continue looking at him. After a moment of silence, the man pretended as if he had just realized something. He suddenly stood up from the seat that he was seated on.

"I’m sorry leader for taking your position. It was just simply because I had realized that you had not arrived, I decided that I was going to take your position temporarily until you arrived. And now that you are here, you can please go ahead and take your position." The man said in a voice that was not apologetic at all.

To make matters worse, although he was asking Alicia to go ahead and take the seat, he was still standing there, not giving Alicia the space that was required for her to be able to sit on the chair.

Alicia’s expression did not change at all. But still, the intensity of the coldness within her eyes increased as she looked at the man.

When he realized that he had already pushed it to the limit, the man finally smiled as he looked at Alicia. Of course within that smile, there was triumph. There was cockiness within his eyes as he looked at Alicia, as if he was asking her what was she going to do, even after what he had done.

After the man retreated, Alicia waited until he took a seat. Then, she continued observing all those people that had been against her. And, she realized that the number had increased slightly. Nevertheless, she did not say anything, and went ahead and took a seat on the main seat.

"Okay. I require the updates of what has been happening during the time that I was not available." Alicia stated authoritatively as she looked at everyone around the table.
