Chapter 313: Peril for the Two Territories

For the other territories, things were completely different. The two territories did not kill the people that had been secluded previously before they completed the transformation. And due to that reason, they were attacked from the inside even before the zombies outside of the territory attacked.

The strength of those people that had transformed, possessing black eyes, was extremely high. Those people that had transformed had actually turned into zombies.

It was just that there was a difference with the normal zombies. These zombies had intelligence that those other normal zombies did not possess. And this was something that gave the members of these two territories and others that were present within the entire world a lot of trouble.

Completely unlike those zombies that simply charged forward, with the intention of eating the brains of humans, these other zombies simply attacked using their own skills. Additionally, they would only resort to biting or scratching if they were not capable of dealing with a person.

Another thing that made them extremely dangerous was the fact that the poison that they possessed was capable of spreading at an incredible speed as compared to the other normal zombies. If it was taking about 5 minutes for a person who had been bitten by a zombie to turn into a zombie, with these new zombies, it would only take about 3 minutes.

As the two territories within Lockwood City continued trying to deal with those zombies within the territory, the zombies that had gathered outside of the territory finally began attacking.

Those that were leading the zombies to attack were obviously the giant zombies that had been standing outside of the territory for a while now.

The strength of those two zombies had increased from level one of the gold rank to level two of the gold rank. This had immediately drove the people that were observing from the walls of the territories into complete despair.

It was already greatly troublesome for them to be able to deal with a zombie that was at the first level of the gold rank. And right now, that giant zombie had suddenly become a level two zombie. That was like multiplying the trouble that they were having initially by 10 times.

Many of the people who were observing the zombie could not help but regret the fact that they did not attack the zombie before it became a level two gold rank zombie.

But still, just thinking about the power of a gold rank zombie, they understood that even if the zombie still remained at level 1 of the gold rank, they would definitely not be capable of dealing with it.

The moment that the zombies began moving forward, the giant zombies did not. They just observed from a distance, while waiting for the zombies to attack the territory.

The members of the two territories did not hesitate to begin defending. It was true that currently, they did not have a chance of dealing with the gold rank zombie, but still, they could not just sit there and wait to be killed, right?

Still, the morale of the group of people that was in charge of defending against the zombies that were attacking was extremely low. And due to this reason, several people made stupid mistakes, things that cost them their lives.

Additionally, since the manpower of the territory had been divided into two, the number of people that were in charge of defending against this large number of zombies was lower.

Due to this reason, they fell at a great disadvantage from the very start. Additionally, they were not capable of cremating the dead bodies of those that had been killed. And due to this, the number of zombies kept on increasing as those that had been bitten by the zombies turned into zombies.

After about 2 hours, a sudden change suddenly occurred. The giant zombies began looking around confusedly, as if they were surprised about the reason why they were there.

But still, this was just momentarily. After observing around for a while, they focused on the two territories in front of them. And in the next moment, they charged forward, with killing intents coming out of them.

As they moved forward, they crushed any zombie that was in their path. It was clear that they had an aim of their own, and it was obviously to destroy this human territory. Additionally, there was another thing that they were targeting.

When the humans who were already having a lot of trouble dealing with the normal zombies realized that the giant zombies were attacking finally, they could not help but be drove into a moment of despair.

Initially, there was a chance that they could survive, no matter how small it was. But with the giant zombie that was at level two of the gold rank attacking, that immediately reduced the probability of them surviving to zero, as long as they encountered this zombie.

Booom! Baaam! Booom!

Explosions after explosions occurred after several attacks that were launched by the giant zombies landed. Of course, just like the giant zombie that had attacked the territory in which Henry and his group was located in, these two zombies possessed an element that they could control.

Just like the giant zombie that was killed by Adam, these two zombies could control the earth element. So, from time to time, several earth pillars rose from the ground, easily taking care of the groups of people and zombies in front of the two giant zombies.

It was clear at this point that the two zombies did not care about the low level zombies at all. But instead, they were just focusing on their own goals.

This was something that made the humans feel relieved. But of course, it was just a moment of relief that they experienced, before they were brought back to their senses. It might be true that the giant zombies did not care about the normal zombies, but that didn’t mean that the normal zombies were going to retreat.

Due to this reason, most of the people did not even realize that the zombies were no longer attacking in an organized manner. Instead, they were just charging forward, and attacking.

Perhaps the zombies thought that it was better if they killed and left behind the food first, before they came back and ate it all together. So, they were just focusing on killing humans, before they charged forward, going to kill others.

Unlucky for them, those humans that they left behind after killing, did not continue remaining there, but instead, they transformed into zombies, that charged forward, doing the same thing as the other zombies.

The leaders of the two territories observed everything from the top of the wall. By this time, the problems from within the two territories had already been taken care of. But of course, they had already paid a lot in order to be able to take care of those zombies that had been transformed during the third stage of the apocalypse.

Looking at the two zombies that were charging over, the two leaders possessed solemn expressions on their faces. At this point, they had already realized that it was going to be impossible for them to be able to retreat.

The zombies had already surrounded the entire territory. So, even if it was evacuation, it was going to be impossible with all the zombies present. The only thing that they could do right now was to fight to the death.

Since they were the strongest within the territories that they led, with only a few subordinates that they trusted being almost at the same level as them, they prepared themselves to attack.

In one of the territories, the leader of the territory was a man with a bald head. He had long, unkempt beards, with them possessing hints of gray. His brown eyes looked at the giant zombie that was charging over from a distance, and he could tell that it was not going to be long before the zombie arrived.

After taking a deep breath, he decided to go and intercept the zombie. Even though it was going to be impossible for him to be capable of dealing with it, but still, it was better if he tried doing so, a distance away from the territory.

He was not the only one who was thinking that way. But still, there would always be a group of people that would want to retreat in such a situation.

"Leader, I do believe that with our current power level, even though it is going to be difficult, we should be capable of leaving this place." A man with sharp eyes stated as he looked at the zombie that was continuously approaching.

"That’s right. Even if we decide to stay here, we are going to die under the hands of that zombie. It is not as if by staying here, we are going to change anything that is going to happen. All the people that are within the territory are going to die anyway." A very short man who was holding a very big hammer stated.

The leader of the territory squinted his eyes, which were currently filled with coldness. He looked at the two people who had spoken and asked, "You want to get out of here, but where are you going to? We are still in the same city. Do you know how many zombies of this level are present within the city?"

When the two heard that, they remained silent for a moment. Then, the man with the sharp eyes responded, "I think it is better if we try out our luck. What is the use of us continuing being here, when we know all too well that we are going to die? It Is better if we go out of the territory and gamble, perhaps we might survive."

The bald-headed leader of the territory of course understood that this was going to be a great chance for them to be able to survive. But still, he was completely unwilling to leave this place. After all, his family was within the territory, and he could not leave them behind.

"You guys can go ahead and leave. As for me, I will stay here. But let me tell you something, if we manage to survive, I hope that once you leave this place, you will never come back." The bald-headed leader stated.
