Chapter 311: Nelson’s Intentions

"Aaargh!"

In the next moment, a cry of pain could be heard in the distance. At the same time, Nelson opened his eyes and looked towards that direction. He could not help but feel that this voice was kind of familiar.

With a frown on his face, he looked over towards the direction which the voice came from. At the same time, he began moving in the same direction, quite curious about who it was that the voice belonged to.

Of course Adam had also heard the voice. He could not help but be a little startled, considering that he had not expected that Nelson possessed the capabilities of finding Julie after she had hidden.

Even he himself found it difficult to be able to find her, if he did not keep an eye on her. But right now, Nelson had found her, during the time that she was hidden.

Thinking that perhaps Julie was hurt, and she was a member of the group, he could not help but increase the intensity of his attacks, easily shattering the attack of one of the zombies that was approaching him.

In the next moment, he waved the battle axe in his hand, cutting one of the zombies into two pieces. Of course, this was not enough to kill the zombie, but still, Adam did not care much about that at this point. What he was worried about was Julie’s safety.

That lady, although she did not talk much, but at least, Adam understood that she was loyal. That was the reason why she had been together with them until now. It might be true that she did so simply because it was advantageous to her, but still, during the time that they were together, they had already formed a bond, and there was a friendship between them.

Additionally, Julie had assisted them with several things that they could have been forced to use a lot of effort to be able to solve. And, she could also be considered as part of the trump card of the group, considering that she possessed incredible skills that were given to her by Henry.

But what made her special was the fact that she was hardworking. She always trained to get better, even though she possessed some of the best skills in the entire world if she was compared to the other assassins. The combination of the two made her a very good assassin.

On the other hand, Nelson finally arrived about 50 m away. There, he could not help but widen his eyes as he looked at the lady in front of him. At this point, Julie was first out of her hiding place, because she was not expecting such kind of attack.

During the time that she was attacked by the mind laser, she felt the killing intent that was approaching her. Immediately after that, she reacted. It was just that although she had utilized the energy in her body in order to try and prevent the attack from working, it had still managed to injure her consciousness.

The attack was directed to the mind, nothing physical. And due to that reason, she was greatly injured, although the mind laser was neutralized greatly by the reaction that she had.

Of course this was something that was going to be impossible had it not been for the fact that she had already reached the second level of the gold rank. She had only reached this level after killing the last zombie.

In a normal situation, it was going to be difficult for her to be able to reach the second level of the gold rank without killing several level 2 and above gold rank apocalyptic creatures. But due to the advantage that the humans were given during the third stage of the apocalypse, she was able to level up after killing just two of them.

Of course the leveling up was also somehow related to the number of creatures that she had killed during the time that they were on their way to Lockwood city.

"Julie? Are you the one that is helping them? I thought that they were supposed to be your enemies." Nelson asked in surprise and at the same time, anger began building in his heart.

Julie who had part of her face covered, with eyes and upper face exposed, could be seen to be in pain. But still, she looked straight into Nelson’s eyes without evading them. Of course, she could see that there was anger and pain within those eyes.

Nevertheless, she went ahead and responded, "I have already repaid you by not attacking you directly. It is true that you and your brother are the ones that helped me, preventing my death, but I did a lot for your brother as well.

And right now, I have not attacked you because I still feel indebted to you. But since I am not on your side, and I don’t want to be a zombie, I have no choice but to deal with the zombies."

This was the first time that Julie had said so many words at the same time. Usually, she was a person of few words. But right now, she had spoken several words at the same time, and to the same person.

When Nelson heard that, he was slightly dumbfounded. Ever since they had found Julie and rescued her, she had never talked to him in such a way. In fact, she had never said so many words before. She was always silent, speaking only when necessary. And the time that she spoke, she only said a few words.

But after a moment of surprise, there came the anger that he was feeling. He could not believe that this lady whom they had helped back then, was the one that was causing him trouble.

Of course he was now with a group of zombies. But who said that he himself wanted to be a zombie? He was supposed to deal with Henry and his group first, before he was allowed to become a human again.

That was the reason why he had been trying to put together a group of elite zombies. He understood that it was not going to be easy to be able to deal with Henry and his group, especially by himself.

But right now, why was it that the person that he had helped back then was the one that was causing him trouble? Still, Nelson managed to control his anger when he realized that the white spots on his body had begun turning gray.

"I’m going to give you a chance. You are going to come back to me, work for me. Otherwise, I don’t really mind getting rid of you right now." Nelson stated in a cold turn as he looked at Julie.

Julie did not respond. Instead, she just looked at Nelson silently, but still, the look in her eyes was enough to tell Nelson that she was not going to agree to that.

When Nelson saw that, he could not help but snort coldly. He was not sure what it was that Henry and his group had fed this lady, but still, this kind of loyalty was something that he wanted. Nevertheless, if she was not going to agree to join him while she was a human, he was going to turn her into a zombie.

He understood one thing. Since she was capable of killing two zombies, although it was a sneak attack, the zombies were still at the gold rank, so she had to be in the gold rank as well. And it was not that easy to be able to get a zombie that was in the gold rank at this stage of the apocalypse.

He himself was not sure about how she had managed to reach the gold rank, considering that it was quite difficult to do so during the second stage of the apocalypse. Nevertheless, once she became a zombie, she was going to be his subordinate.

Without saying anything, the zombie that had come over with him immediately launched itself towards Julie. It was not having the intention of killing her, but instead, it only wanted to infect her with the zombie virus.

Julie on the other hand was not to be underestimated. Although it was true that she was injured, that did not mean that she was completely vulnerable at this point. So, when the zombie was approaching, she simply tightened her grip on the dagger that she was holding behind her back.

At this point, she was leaning her back on the wall. So, Nelson and the zombie did not know what was behind her. This was something that she had done, because she wanted to face her enemies from the front, rather than having another one coming from behind when she wasn’t paying attention.

When the zombie was just about to arrive in front of her, she launched the dagger that she was holding towards it. The zombie was not expecting something like this to happen, considering that currently, Julie was injured.

Still, the zombie was at the gold rank, and Julie was not at her peak condition. The zombie managed twist its body towards the left, slightly dodging the dagger from hitting its vital point, the head.

But that did not prevent the dagger from making a huge cut on its left cheek. Blood began trickling from the wound that had been made by the blade of the dagger.

While Julie was already expecting that something like this was going to happen, and was preparing to attack again, the zombie did not stop after dodging. Instead, it suddenly charged forward, intending to deal with Julie as soon as possible.

"How troublesome it is." At this point, a cold snort reached the ears of the three.
