Chapter 288: Where’s the Logic? Volunteer for Research

...she was suddenly forced to stop when she heard what Adam said. And to say the truth, she was completely speechless, wondering what was wrong with this young man. Did he just like trouble or something like that? And when she observed him clearly, he looked like a troublemaker, right?

"Since you have been a good boy and are listening carefully, if you want to deal with that lady, the solution is simple really. Why don’t you just sit down there, relax, and wait until she comes over?" Adam stated.

The zombie looked at him confusedly, not understanding the logic in what he was saying. Of course the zombie was not the only one that was not understanding what Adam was trying to imply.

Vincent, Jason, and even Henry and his group were completely confused. What was Adam trying to tell the zombie here? And additionally, how would the zombie sitting down there help dealing with Nancy?

Just as they were wondering, Adam finally continued. "While seated down there, you don’t have to be idle at all. You can just go ahead and begin by cutting off your limbs.

Start with your right leg, then your left leg, then your left hand, then bite your right hand. Oh wait, does biting yourself make you a zombie? Oh right, I remember now, you are already a zombie, so even if you bite yourself, you will not turn into a zombie because you are already one." Suddenly, Adam began blabbering a lot of nonsense.

And when he said those words, everybody that was listening carefully, trying to understand what method Adam was going to suggest to the zombie so that it could be capable of dealing with Nancy were completely dumbfounded.

Is this guy sure that he is trying to help the zombie here? He is clearly trying to make sure that the zombie is going to suffer more. Additionally, if the zombie decided to do what Adam was saying, it would only make it easy for Nancy to be able to deal with it.

For a moment, the tense atmosphere in the air suddenly eased up. Some people even began laughing out loud, completely forgetting about the fact that the zombie that was being provoked at this moment was at the gold rank.

In any case, what Adam was saying was actually something funny. How was he helping the zombie, when he was simply trying to make sure that the zombie died faster? Even Henry could not help but wonder where Adam got this trait from.

Or no I’m trying to mean that, can you survive without your body? In any case, your body is already dead, so I do believe that it does not support your head, right?" Adam continued talking, completely disregarding the reactions of the other people in the surroundings.

His current expression was completely serious, something that made other people believe that Adam was completely serious about what he was talking about, and he was not joking around with the zombie.

Roooar!

The zombie could not take it anymore. It let out a loud roar, before it began charging towards Adam. Due to its massive body size, as it began moving, the ground began shaking slightly.

Although the zombie was gigantic, the speed that it was moving at was not low at all. This was of course due to the fact that it was currently at the gold rank. So, it was completely expected that it was fast, though it could not be compared to other apocalyptic creatures and members of the other races that had reached the same rank, and were focusing on other aspects.

Adam continued talking as if he could not see the zombie that was approaching him. "According to the research that I have been doing recently, I realized that you zombies are completely dead, other than the brain. But that is something that does not make logic. Since your body is dead, and only your brain is functioning, why is it that some parts of your body are still functioning?

With all the internal organs in your body dead, how is it that you are capable of controlling your arms, blinking your eyes, smelling, and even listening? It might be true that my academic level is quite low, but still, I do know one thing, although everything is connected to the brain, but what if the connectors are dead?

How is it that you are controlling those body parts of yours? It seems that we need to take you into a laboratory so that research can be done on you. Are you willing to be a volunteer?" Adam asked as he rubbed his chin in contemplation. And in fact, he had already turned his gaze away from the zombie, looking into the distance, as if he was deep into thought.

She was sure that if Adam was this way during the time that they were not in the same page, she would have been completely frustrated. And she was not sure if she was going to be capable of preventing herself from attacking him.

The only reason why they did not attack each other back then was simply because they belonged to the same team. But the tension between the two of them had reduced during the past few months that the apocalypse had descended.

Nancy was not that far away from Adam considering that she had been previously flying towards him, intending to take care of him first. So, when she realized that the zombie was planning to attack Adam, and Adam on the other hand was completely ignoring it, she could not help but feel a little frustrated.

It was already a good thing that the zombie was not attacking. But this young man on the other hand was just simply causing trouble. It was not enough that he had provoked it first, and she had come over and helped.

But then again, it was already getting frustrated after failing to get her. And now, this guy had just gone ahead and made it even more angry.

Although she wanted to ignore this guy because he was the one who was looking for trouble, but she was curious about him. She was not sure about the power level that he possessed, but she did not believe that it was going to be that high.

Other than that, due to the fact that it seemed that Adam was not a traitor of the human race, she decided to help him again. But this was definitely going to be the last time that she was going to take action to help him out directly.

"Can you at least shut that big mouth of yours? You are already causing trouble here. So, you better retreat and remain silent if you don’t want the zombie to crush you into pieces." Nancy stated as she rushed forward on top of her crow.

Adam stopped pretending to be contemplating on something, and looked directly towards Nancy who was in the air. At this moment, she had already turned around, and was charging towards the zombie, intending to stop it from reaching Adam.

Adam could not help but be a little bit frustrated. All this while, he was trying to make sure that this zombie attacked him. This way, he would just go ahead and beat up the zombie for fun.

But now, this lady kept on interrupting every now and again. Did she think that he was just provoking the zombie so that she could have fun with it? And she was not even that strong, but she kept on running forward, trying to protect him. Didn’t she see that he was the one causing trouble? Or perhaps, could it be that there was a screw lose in her head?

Of course Nancy did not know what Adam was thinking about. Otherwise, she would have definitely turned around, and instead of dealing with the zombie, she would have assisted it in dealing with him.

But since she did not know about that, she disconnected the staff, forming to halves. Immediately after that, she threw the two of them forward towards the zombie, one after the other.

It looked like she was using the same method that she was using during the time that she was attacking the zombie. But in fact, this time, she was changing the strategy having already realized that the previous strategy could not work.

Just as the two halves were about to reach the zombie, lightning suddenly struck them. And the moment that they were struck by lightning, they were completely enveloped by the lightning, but still, they lit up with a dark light.

In the next moment, the speed at which they were moving forward suddenly increased drastically. And even without giving the zombie the time to react, the two halves finally arrived before the zombie, and they struck towards its chest.
