Chapter 287: Traitor, Troublemaker

When Nancy noticed the attack that was heading her way, she did not retreat. But instead, she connected the two half staffs that she was holding, forming one long staff. And in the next moment, she actually jumped from the crow, and headed straight for the shield that was charging towards her.

Since she was falling from the sky, the speed at which she was descending was incredible. At the same time as she was falling, she grabbed the staff that was in her hand, before swinging it downwards towards the shield that was rushing towards her.

So when Nancy collided with the shield, she felt her hands which were holding the staff going slightly numb. At the same time, immense force came from the shield, pushing her back into the air.

Nancy observed the zombie. She had expected that it was going to be difficult for her to be able to deal with this zombie, but she had not expected that this zombie was actually capable of wielding magic.

This was the first time that she had seen a zombie that possessed an element. And currently, this giant zombie in front of her was one that possessed the earth element.

That was unless she decided to give up on staying in Lockwood City, and going to another place, and only coming back after she had become stronger. But right now, going to another place, another city, it was definitely more dangerous than facing this zombie.

Unless there was no any other choice, there was no way that she was going to abandon this territory that she had developed from scratch.

The zombie on the other hand did not take much effort to be able to defend against the attack that had been launched towards it by the crow. At the same time, it focused on the bird that was in the air.

Since Nancy and the crow were in the air, the zombie could not attack them with all its strength. Currently, it was having a disadvantage because it could not fight in the sky.

So at this moment, the zombie was getting frustrated. Nevertheless, it did not stop throwing the shield towards the air. And having already learned a lesson, Nancy did not try to attack the shield directly. But instead, she always tried to avoid it.

And every moment that she did that, she attacked using the staff. Of course, she did not attack from a close range, but instead, she just launched the staff towards the zombie, and after the staff attacked, it would fly back towards her.

And after about 5 minutes, the zombie was completely frustrated. Its attacks were not landing on the target, and Nancy and the crow were like stubborn flies that kept on flying in the air, while avoiding the attacks as it tried to attack them.

Rooooar!

The zombie roared in anger and frustration. It was trying to think of a method that it was going to use in order to deal with Nancy and the crow. But no matter how much it thought, its intelligence was not at the same level as that of humans.

Due to that, no matter how many times it racked its brains, no solution came. So, the frustration that it was feeling only increased.

But the zombie had just roared when suddenly, it heard somebody speaking to it. It looked over, and noticed that Adam, the first person who had provoked it had not yet left the battlefield at all. And instead, the guy was just looking over with a contentious grin on his face.

"Finally gained your attention. Are you trying to think of a method of reaching into the air so that you can take care of her? Do you want assistance from me?" Adam asked enthusiastically.

Adam’s voice was not low at all. So, Nancy who was in the air, combined with Henry and his group all heard what he was saying. Even Vincent and Jason heard him clearly due to their sharp senses.

Other than Henry’s group, everyone’s expression became solemn. Could it be that Adam was thinking about betraying the human race? It might be true that currently, humans were fighting against each other, but still, when it came to a battle against the other races, the humans were supposed to be united.

So, why was it that Adam wanted to help the zombie to deal with Nancy? From what they had been observing until now, it was clear that Nancy did not possess any advantage over the zombie. All that she could do at the moment was to stall the zombie, because until now, the injuries that she had caused on the zombie were completely ignored by the zombie.

The zombie on the other hand understood what Adam was talking about. Although it was angry at Adam, it looked at him with a hint of hope. It was clear that the zombie was expecting that Adam was going to tell it a method that it was going to use to deal with Nancy.

It might be true that this guy was irritating at some point, but nevertheless, he was way better as compared to that one who was flying in the air, attacking it continuously, while evading the attacks. Why didn’t she just come down so that they could fight head on?

"Are you listening carefully? If you are, then you can just nod your head like this." Adam asked as he demonstrated by nodding his own head.

Although the zombie hesitated, with stiff movements, it actually nodded its head. This was something that showed everyone that was observing the battlefield at this moment that the intelligence of this zombie was not that low.

And this immediately worried both Nancy and the others. If the zombies gained intelligence, with the advantage that they currently possessed, the numerical advantage, then, the danger that the posed to the human race was definitely going to increase.

The zombies would obviously target humans first. At the end of the day, if they managed to kill many more humans, they would be able to increase their numbers.

Nancy on the other hand was getting a little frustrated. At first, she had come over, and immediately attacked the moment that she realized that Adam was in danger. But it seems that she had made a wrong decision this time.

This young man was trying to go against the human race. So, her eyes turned cold immediately. If there was one thing that she could not tolerate, that was a traitor. Although she was not sure why this young man and his group were out of the territory, and why the information about them was completely hidden, but nevertheless, she did not care.
