Chapter 270: Reunion

But even before they could sit down, one of the people that was in charge of the procedures of testing came over. He looked at Henry’s group and said, "There’s something wrong with one of you. We cannot allow her to enter deeper into the territory unless we confirm what the problem is with her."

The moment that that man said that, he suddenly felt that the temperatures in the room had suddenly decreased. His body could not help but tremble from the chill that he was feeling.

At this time, Olivia suddenly turned around and looked at the man with murderous intention in her eyes. Then she said everything slowly, "Let me tell you something, if anything happens to her, I’ll make sure that I’ll deal with you."

The man could not help but take a few steps backwards due to the intimidating aura that was being emitted by Olivia. He was not sure when, but somehow, he had begun sweating, to the extent that his back was already soaked in sweat.

"That is the protocol that we are following in this place. So if you want to enter this place, you will have to cooperate." At this time, Kane came over and stated with a serious expression on his face.

He had already looked at Sarah, who was currently in a different room. She was unconscious, but from the way that he could see, she was definitely not in a normal condition. There were several black spots on her skin, a condition that they had not seen before.

Since they were not sure if this was another disease that had been brought over, or it was an influence from another race, they had to be cautious. At the same time, there was no way that they were going to allow a person like her to be able to meet up with the rest of the people within the territory.

At this time, Henry finally spoke again. "That’s our team member. So, I hope that you don’t think of doing anything to her. Because if you do, believe me that you will not like it."

His words was spoken in a calm tone. But nevertheless, all those that knew about him realized that Henry was very serious about what he had said. Additionally, this was not only a warning, but it was also a threat to Kane and the people of this territory.

Olivia was not expecting that Henry was going to speak at a moment like this. But nevertheless, she nodded her head inwardly, considering that Henry was currently showing that he cared about his teammates.

Kane looked at Henry. He could tell that although this person looked ordinary, he was the most dangerous of the entire group. At the end of the day, he was the one who possessed so many question marks on his stats panel.

"Don’t worry about that. We don’t do anything to a person that has just come over. But if it is actually an infection that is contagious, it is either the person leaves this place, or the person is taking in for further investigation." Kane responded as calmly as he could.

Henry did not say anything else. But instead, he went ahead and grabbed Olivia’s shoulder. And feeling his touch on her shoulder, Olivia finally calmed down.

Of course previously, she was hesitant about leaving Sarah alone. But thinking about the fact that they were here and they had not shown any ill intent towards this territory, she decided to give this place a benefit of doubt.

And right now, with the assurance from Henry, she believed that everything was going to be okay. So, she went ahead with the rest of the group and they settled down.

As for Kane, he did not go anywhere. But instead, he just remained standing closer to the entrance of the room. The room itself was not that big, containing only a few seats. Although there was space that could accommodate him, he just decided to stay away from this group.

At the same time, he was ready to take action in case there was an alarm at the entrance of the territory, which was not that far from where they were currently.

After about 10 minutes, just as Henry’s group was about to get impatient, the sound of engines approaching was heard from outside. And not long after, several cars stopped outside of the building that was in charge of check ups.

A minute or two later, a group of five men finally entered into the room. The one who was in the lead was a man with grey eyes, with a robust body. He had a height of about 2 m, currently wearing a military uniform.

But of course, the uniform that he was wearing was not the same as the one that was present during the normal times, but instead, this was kind of more advanced, something that had been made after the descent of the apocalypse.

The man had short black hair, with a well shaven chin. From his strides as he walked into the room, Henry could tell that this man was definitely a part of the military even before the descent of the apocalypse.

And it seemed that he had maintained the same discipline as the one that he possessed by the people still in the military, which was something that was kind of rare.

Those four that were following behind him also gave the same impression as him, although they could not be actually compared to him. It was clear that this person was definitely at a higher level as compared to those behind him.

Just as Henry was about to look at the information of this person, Olivia suddenly stood up from her seat. Then, she looked at the group in front of her with surprise in her eyes, tinged with excitement.

"Dad!" Olivia exclaimed as she looked at the man who had already paused his movements the moment that he looked at the group.

"Olivia, you’re finally here." Although the man was trying to act as composed as he could, but there was still some trembling that could be detected in his voice.

This was to be expected considering that Olivia had suddenly disappeared for a few months before the apocalypse descended. And not long after, the apocalypse came. So, this man, Olivia’s father, was not sure if his daughter was alive or not.

Even if he wanted to look for her, he was completely clueless about where he was supposed to start searching from. So, he had been worried, although he was wearing a façade, trying to make sure that he did not show any sense of weakness in front of those that were following him.

But right now, looking at the daughter in front of him, although she had changed a lot since the last time that he had seen her, he could still recognize her.

The blue hair that she had inherited from her mother, and the grey eyes that belonged to him, together with the heroic spirit that she possessed, it was clearly his daughter Olivia.

Initially, before he came over, he didn’t hold much hope. To him, he had decided that whoever it was that was going to come to this territory, as long as they possessed blue hair, and was a lady in her twenties, he had to come over and look, just to make sure that she was his daughter or not.

Since he could not leave this place to go out and look for her, he could only continue looking for her while inside here. And today, after the call, he had asked for information about the description of the appearance of the people in that group.

The moment that Kane mentioned something about a blue-haired lady being amongst them, he immediately instructed him that he was going to come over, just to make sure.

He could have actually sent someone over, but since he was free today, he decided to come over personally. And now, it seemed that he was right, his daughter had finally come back home.

Olivia walked towards her father step by step. And just like her father, she was trying to maintain the cold personality that she always possessed in front of Henry and the others.

Nonetheless, there was no way that she was going to be capable of controlling her emotions fully. So, the moment that she arrived in front of her father, she fell into his arms.

At this moment, she finally felt relieved. Her mind was overloaded with a lot of things considering that she was young, but she had to think about a lot of things. At the same time, she was worried about the safety of her family. And right now, looking at her father who was holding her, she could finally feel relieved.

Henry and the others did not say anything, and neither did the group that was following Olivia’s father. They just remained silent as the two hugged each other.

After a while, Olivia and her father went out of the room. It was clear that they wanted to talk about something, and Henry and the others also understood that. They had been away from each other for several months now, so they really had a lot to talk about.

"It seems that Olivia’s father holds an important position within this territory." Adam stated nonchalantly. And to say the truth, he could not help but be a little bit envious of Olivia. At least for her, she had already seen her father alive. As for him, he was still in the dark about his family.

Henry nodded simply. He did not say anything, and just decided to wait until Olivia’s father came over. After he came, they would then know what they were going to do next. Perhaps with his help, they would be able to find Sarah’s family, before he and Adam finally went ahead to look for their own families.
