Chapter 258: Source of the Killing Intent

Chapter 258: Source of the Killing Intent

"Let’s get into that building. I don’t know what is going on with those three, but we have to be careful. I don’t have a good feeling about that building." Henry stated to the two, before he took a step forward and began heading towards the building where Olivia and the rest of the group had entered.

As they approached the building, Henry could feel just what Olivia and the rest of the group felt. As he approached the building, the killing intent intensified.

But as soon as he passed through the barrier that was present around the building, the killing intent suddenly disappeared. This was something that Henry did not understand.

But nevertheless, he understood one thing, that was the fact that inside this building, there had to be someone that was controlling the killing intent.

Since he was not sure about where Olivia and the rest of the group had gone to inside the building, he decided to divide himself and the group into three, each of them going around to look for the group.

Since they could communicate through telepathic connection, in case one of them found the group, they were supposed to inform the others so that they could gather together.

At the same time, something that they were supposed to keep a watch for was definitely something that could enable them to exit this place. So, if a person found it, they were supposed to remain in that place, while informing the other so that they could come over.

As the group separated, Henry was not worried. At the end of the day, both Lenta and Diana were in the gold rank. Even if they encountered another creature that was in the gold rank at this moment, as long as it was not too overpowered, they would definitely be capable of handling the situation.

And in case they did not have the capability of dealing with the problem, Henry was sure that they were capable of retreating. At the end of the day, he was not expecting that there was going to be a level nine gold rank apocalyptic creature or a member of the dark race in this place, right?

...

After searching for several floors of the building, the group of three finally met up at the top floor. But so far, they had not encountered anything that they found suspicious.

"What should we do? There’s nothing inside here." Adam asked with a frown on his face.

"That is impossible. There is no way that there’s nothing inside here. It is just that we have not looked right. At the end of the day, how is it possible that this building can remain standing, being protected by a barrier if there is nothing inside here? There has to be something that is being protected inside here." Olivia responded as she looked around.

Of course, she too had already realized that there was nothing inside here. But so far, how could she believe that there was actually nothing in here? At the end of the day, what was the use of this place being protected?

At the same time, why was the amount of killing intent that was coming from this building so intense? If there was actually nothing, then what was the source of the killing intent?

Just from the fact that the killing intent was retracted the moment the they stepped into the building informed them that the source of the killing intent had already detected that they had come in. (Of course they don’t know that after they had began looking around, the killing intent started leaking out of the building again.)

"We have already looked at the entire building. But so far, we haven’t found anything noticeable. So, should we give up? Maybe this is just a thing that they get here to confuse us." Adam suggested.

After Adam said those words, it was as if a light bulb had been suddenly lit up in Olivia’s mind. She said, "We have looked at the building, but we have not looked to see if there is actually anything underground. I’m pretty sure that if they had anything, they would definitely hide it underground."

"Something like a basement?" Adam was also enlightened as he asked.

"Yes. Let’s get moving." Olivia nodded her head. After that, without waiting for a response from the two, she turned around and headed out of the room that they were currently in.

Adam and Julie followed behind her, and began going downstairs. This building did not have an elevator, so, they had to use stairs in case they wanted to go to the next floor or below.

The group had just arrived on the floor that was directly below the one that they were in before when they suddenly met with Diana. They were surprised considering that they had not expected that Diana was going to come over right now. That was unless the battle had already ended.

"Yes, the fight has already ended. That guy has already been killed by master. And right now, we were just looking for where you were." Diana stated as if she knew what Olivia and the rest of the group were thinking after seeing her.

"That’s good. As expected of my brother. There’s definitely nothing that he cannot handle." Adam responded enthusiastically.

Olivia wanted to say that Adam was too optimistic, but she didn’t really know what to say. In any case, until now, in case there was actually a fight, there was none of them that Henry had failed to complete it, by killing the enemy.

So although she knew that there might come a time where they might be forced to retreat, but still, she could not say anything like that right now. In any case, it was better to keep their morale up.

"Let’s get going then. With the six of us together, it should definitely be easy for us to come through the entire building and see if there is an entrance into the basement." Olivia said as she began walking down the stairs.

"You have already searched the entire building?" Diana asked.

"Yep. But we have not found anything notable. It is as if this building was abandoned several years ago considering that there’s dust that is covering the floors and furniture in this building." Adam replied.

After a moment of silence, Diana replied, "I have already informed master. He had said that we have to meet at the entrance of the building first. After that, we will decide on what we’re going to do."

Olivia and the other two already knew about the telepathic connection that existed between Henry and his summoned creatures. So, they were not surprised at the moment that Diana stated that she had spoken to Henry although she was just in front of them.

The group headed downstairs. After arriving there, they found that both Henry and Lenta had already arrived and were waiting for them.

Olivia went ahead and informed Henry of the results of the search that they had done. Although Diana had already informed Henry before they came over, but she gave the detailed explanation.

After hearing that, Henry thought for a moment before he agreed with what Olivia was thinking about. After all, just the reaction that Hanson was having during the time that he had realized that Olivia and the group had entered into the building, it was clear that there had to be something inside here.

Just as the group was about to begin searching for an entrance into the basement, the building suddenly began shaking. Although the intensity of the shaking was not that high, but nevertheless, they could feel that there had to be a source of the trembling of the building.

At this point, the group suddenly realized that the amount of killing intent that was coming out of the building had suddenly flooded back. Initially, after they came to the ground floor, the killing intent retreated.

But right now, it was so thick, and the group could feel that this killing intent was actually directed towards them. This made them frown.

Henry concentrated for a while, trying to see the source of the killing intent. And after a while, he suddenly realized that the killing intent was actually coming from the floor that they were standing on.

Just as the group was also trying to concentrate and see the source of the killing intent, Lenta suddenly attacked. Raising one of his limbs, the limb was covered in a golden light before it smashed towards the ground.

Booom!

The ground where Lenta was standing could not hold up to the attack. For that reason, the ground collapsed and Lenta and the group, due to their fast reactions, they retreated from the area where the collapsing occurred.

Of course, Lenta attacked because it was Henry who had informed him to do that. And additionally, Lenta was some distance away from the group, due to his humongous body size. Had it not been for the fact that the entrance of the building was quite big, Lenta would have definitely not been capable of entering into this building.

That was the exact reason why he didn’t go to any top floor, but instead, he searched the lower floor. At the end of the day, with his body size, he was definitely not capable of using the stairs to go upwards. Additionally, with his weight, perhaps he might end up collapsing the stairs if they were not steady enough.

Looking at the huge hole that had been opened up on the ground, the group finally understood. After the ground opened up, the amount of killing intent that was coming towards them had intensified.

"Let’s dive in and see what is being hidden inside here." Henry instructed before he jumped down into the hole that was about 3 meters in diameter.
