"I’m sorry about that. I was a little impulsive, but, I just felt that after I killed that last guy, I would be able to rank up." Julie finally opened her mouth and spoke.

Although she was actually asking for forgiveness for what she had done, the expression on her face did not indicate any sign of her being sorry. It was completely indifferent without any single emotion on it.

Well, Henry could only shake his head, knowing that this girl had actually been affected by the profession that she had taken. That was something that he had actually realized until now. The professions that people took usually affected them in some ways.

For instance, Adam was usually affected with his temper. From time to time, he could get angry as long as he was provoked. As for Julie, she was an assassin. For that reason, she was supposed to be cruel. So, it was not a surprise that she was actually this indifferent.

But of course, there was no way that she was going to be capable of controlling her emotions completely. So, if a person observed her eyes clearly, they could see that she was actually sorry for what she had done.

Of course, she understood that what she had done was no different from stealing a chance from Adam. Adam himself was at the 9th level of the silver rank. Perhaps if he had killed all those three, then, he might have actually been capable of reaching the golden rank.

But she on the other hand had actually gone ahead and done this impulsively. Firstly, after she had disappeared, she targeted the bulky guy. The guy was injured, so, he was not able to resist her although he was a single level above her.

After killing him, she managed to reach level 9 of the silver rank. She herself possessed a profession that was at grade A. For that reason, she was actually capable of leveling up quite easily as compared to Adam and the rest of the group.

So, after she managed to kill the two, although she did not actually contribute the majority part of the attack, she was still able to level up to the golden rank.

"No need to worry about that. We have to be careful. I do believe that these are not the only people that are present here. As for the reason why they are here, we don’t really know, and I hope that it is not something that concerns us." Henry waved his hand as he responded.

Adam did not say anything. It was not as if whatever he could say was going to change anything. Julie had already killed several people, so, there was no way that he was going to kill them as they were already dead.

At the same time, it was a good thing that she had already reached the golden rank. At least, by killing those three, she had gotten something out of it, not wasted it.

After what Henry had said, he also began paying attention to their surroundings. In any case, other than making sure that there was nobody that was going to attack them, they had to look for a way out of this place.

From the fact that the black barrier was still existing until now implied that whoever it was that had set that barrier up was still alive.

And if that barrier was actually capable of existing without the one who had cast it being alive, then, they had to look for a method that they were going to use to undo it.

The group began walking around, looking for any clues. But before they left, Henry had gone ahead and looked for mutation crystals from the heads of these dark mutants, but he did not find any.

As the group moved, they did not encounter any life from. But, as they approached the center of the city, they finally began encountering several corpses that belonged to monsters.

This was the first time that they were seeing something like this. It was just that, these corpses were not actually just dead, but instead, it looked like something had sucked out their vitality.

Currently, the corpses of the monsters that they were encountering along the way were just like a pile of bones covered with skin. From the looks of it, one could actually think that these monsters had actually died of hunger.

"What the heck were these people doing here? These monsters have completely lost their vitality." Adam stated as he looked at the corpses on the ground.

"I do doubt that there’s anything good that they are doing here. But, from the looks of it, we have to be careful." Henry stated. Of course, he went ahead and touched the body of a corpse. He tried selling the corpse to the system, but the system rejected it.

According to the system, the corpses were not complete. When Henry tried to look for the mutation crystals in the heads of the monsters, he found out that they had already been dug out. It was clear that whoever it was that had killed these monsters had actually taken away the mutation crystals.

Until this point, it was only Henry who was capable of using the mutation crystals through the system. As long as he got the mutation crystals, he was going to be able to purchase anything from the system.

But for the rest of the world, the mutation crystals did not really have any use, until now at least. So, Henry immediately realized that the one that had actually taken the mutation crystals from these monsters had to be related to the group that they had just killed.

While they were approaching the center of the city, they suddenly felt that the atmosphere was changing as they moved deeper. It was suddenly getting chilly, but the sky was clear.

Although the city was devastated, and there was no sun in the sky, but still, there was light. And the sky, although there was no sun, they could see that the sky was actually clear without any sense of rain coming down.

This was a strange phenomena that Henry and his group did not understand. Nevertheless, the moment that they realized the changes that were occurring around them, they suddenly became more cautious as they moved.

At the same time, they identified that if there was actually an exit out of this place, then, that exit was definitely located in the center of the city. So, they did not change their direction, but instead, they continued moving forward.

After moving for about half a kilometer, they finally realized that there was yet another change that had occurred. At this point, the temperatures had already dropped to about 8°C.

"The amount of killing intent in the air is also increasing. It seems that this is actually the source of those people." Henry stated in a low voice.

And as the group moved forward, the amount of killing intent in the air was drastically increasing. It reached a level that it felt completely uncomfortable to be in this place.

Of course, that was only going to apply to those that were at the Bronze rank and below. As for the group, although it was slightly stuffy to be here, but, they had already killed several monsters and other life forms. For that reason, they too possessed killing intent of their own.

Henry and the group moved forward, and this time, they were actually following the source of the killing intent. They had realized that they had to reach the source of the killing intent in order to know what was going on there. Perhaps there was actually a chance that the exit out of this place was present there.

After about 20 minutes of walk, they finally arrived in front of a building. The building was the one in the best condition as compared to the rest of the devastated buildings in the entire city.

It was a five-storey building, something that was actually kind of weird to be found in the center of a city like this considering that the majority of the buildings here were actually skyscrapers.

But of course, that was not something that caught Henry and the group’s attention. Instead, what they were looking at was the man that was standing in front of the building.

The man was dressed in a butler suit, something that was kind of uncommon ever since the descent of the apocalypse. During these times, even those people that previously held high positions and liked to put on suits would be found with armors on their bodies, even during the times that they were going to sleep.

So, to find a person like this one who was actually wearing a suit, it was definitely completely out of norm. But of course, this did not make anyone underestimate him at all.

First of all, this person was standing there, looking at them calmly. It was clear that he was actually waiting for them, and having already known about their presence here, then, he already knew about the presence of the other four people that they had already killed.
