Chapter 240: Trapped, Mysterious Group

"Let’s clear out this group first. There’s only about 20 of them. After that, we have to be cautious while inside here." Henry instructed when he realized that the group of puppets was already closer.

"There’s no need for all of us to take action. I’ll just deal with them alone." Adam stated. After that, he went ahead of the group.

The rest of the group did not object at all. In any case, it was true what Adam had said. Currently, there was none amongst them that had not reached the silver rank. So, it was definitely not a problem for them to be able to take care of a group of bronze rank puppets.

Adam did not want to waste time with the puppets. For that reason, the moment that he stepped forward, he attacked without waiting for the puppets to arrive where they were.

From the looks of it, these puppets did not have the abilities of attacking from a long distance. So, Adam was not that much worried when he attacked, not to mention the fact that the puppets were not capable of dealing any damage to him with their current strength.

Holding his battle axe, Adam waved it forward. At the same time, he activated the skill shock blast. And with that, the moment that the battle axe swept through the air, a blast of air was sent towards the group of puppets that was about to arrive before Adam.

Boom!

An explosion occurred. And in the next moment, the puppets that just looked like humans were blasted into pieces. The most surprising thing was the fact that there was actually blood although this group was actually considered as puppets.

Looking at the gory scene where several parts of the bodies were scattered on the ground, Olivia could not help but say, "It seems that this puppets are actually controlled. Otherwise, it is definitely not possible for them to be possessing blood in them. They should be dry, right?"

"I don’t really know about that. But from my experience, I do know that the necromancers are capable of controlling other creatures. But, they would have to convert them into undead.

As for this group of people, I think that they are being controlled by some mind skill." Henry responded.

Adam move forward and looked at the corpses on the ground. There was no sign of pity in his eyes as he looked at the shredded parts on the ground.

After observing them for a moment, he bent down and picked something. Then, he looked at Henry and said, "There’s actually a mutation crystal here."

Henry and the rest of the group were surprised after hearing that. Normally, there was no mutation crystals in the heads of the humans. That was something that they had observed so far, but right now, these humans that Henry and his group believed that were being controlled, actually possessed mutation crystals in their heads.

Henry did not really know what was going on, but, he felt that there was something strange about these puppets that had been killed by Adam.

"Forget about that. We have to deal with this place as soon as possible. Let us look and see if there’s anything that we can use here. If there’s none, we better get out of here and continue with our own trip." Henry stated after taking the mutation crystals.

He had tried selling the bodies to the system store, but, they could not be sold. The reason behind that was that the bodies belonged to humans, so, it was impossible. Additionally, Henry believed that perhaps due to the fact that the bodies were not intact, then, they could not be sold to the system.

"Guys, do you see this?" At this time, Olivia asked.

Henry and the rest of the group were attracted by Olivia’s voice. They looked in the direction that she was looking in and both of them were surprised.

Behind them, there was something that prevented them from seeing what was behind them. It was just complete darkness, and they could not tell if there was actually something dark that was blocking what they could see from behind them, or that particular area was actually covered in darkness.

"I do think that we came from inside there." Henry stated before he took a step forward. After coming to the front of the dark area, he stretched his hand forward.

But then, something unexpected happened. Instead of his hand going through, it actually felt like it was touching something solid. But, this was supposed to be an impossibility considering that they had just come from that place not long ago.

Not believing it, Henry tried several times, but the results were still the same. This made him frown. Olivia, Diana, Julie, and Adam both went forward and touched the black substance, and they could feel that it was actually solid.

Bang!

Adam suddenly attacked. But, the most surprising thing was the fact that even after he attacked, there was not even a ripple on the surface of the black substance.

Boom!

Adam did not stop at that. But, he went ahead and attacked once again. But, this time, he made sure to use full strength. But, even after attacking with his full strength, there was no change at all.

"It seems that the only way to get out of this place is to find an exit. It is a pity that that idiot did not tell us about something like this." Henry stated.

What Henry and his group did not know was the fact that during the time that Livingstone and his son came over, everything was not the way that it was right now. Additionally, instead of puppets, there were actually monsters in this area.

But right now, puppets had appeared. Additionally, the power level of the puppets was way higher as compared to the time that Livingstone came in, facing the monsters.

As for exiting, the cave did not disappear, and neither did they encounter the darkness during the time that they were entering. It was just that, during the time that they were entering the cave, they could feel the darkness for a moment before they appeared inside this place.

As for Henry and his group, they had to walk through the darkness for a few minutes before they finally exited it. And, there was no way out, only allowing them to stay inside.

"Let us not waste our time here. Even if we want to question that idiot, he is already dead. Unless we can actually make contact with his ghost, it is impossible for us to be able to communicate with him." Henry shook his head and prevented Adam who was about to attack once again from doing so.

"Huh? He’s dead?" Adam asked as he looked at Henry incredulously.

Additionally, it seems that he doesn’t have the knowledge about the capabilities that Storm possesses. So, it is obvious that he might have ended up provoking Storm who ended up killing him." Olivia responded as she eyed Adam with ridicule in her eyes.

Adam snorted as he responded, "You are saying it as if I don’t know. Of course I only asked the question because I was a little surprised."

Olivia did not respond to that. In any case, there was no need for them to argue about a person like Livingstone.

With the decision made, Henry, Olivia, Adam, Diana, Julie, and Lenta began walking towards the deep parts of the city. Currently, they did not have a destination so, they could only move forward to see what was there.

Of course, they were completely cautious because they did not know what was hiding inside here. At the same time, they kept an eye for any traces of an exit from this place.

What the group did not know was the fact that currently, each and every move that they were making was actually being observed by a group of people.

This group actually looked just like normal humans, no difference at all. It was just that, the aura that they were giving out was completely different from that of a normal human.

Each and every one of them was filled with killing intent, something that they were giving out subconsciously. In any case, they did not even try to control the killing intent that was leaking out of their bodies.

In front of this group of five, there was a screen that was made out of light, something like a virtual screen. On the screen, there was the display of the video of what Henry and his group were doing.

A man with a bulky body looked at the video with squinted eyes. Then, he said, "It seems that this group is quite good. Although the apocalypse has just started, they have actually managed to reach the silver rank. But the strangest thing is the fact that we cannot actually see any information about them."

"That is something that caught my attention the moment that they entered this place. I never expected that there was going to be a group of humans that was going to be capable of achieving this level of power at this level of the apocalypse." A man with sharp eyes stated. But, there was no fear in his voice, other than nonchalance.

"Why does that even have to matter to us? We are here with a mission, so, we have to complete it as soon as possible. By the time that the third stage of the apocalypse will be descending, it will be the time for us to be able to complete the role that brought us here." A bald-headed man stated.

"Are you an idiot or what baldy? We have already lost the puppets that we created recently. Right now, we need more people that we can use to create puppets. And this group is not that bad." A lady with unnaturally long hair stated.
