Chapter 235: A Scheme

Henry and his group had only arrived at Raga City when they realized that a battle was going on in the direction that they had appeared in. Due to the fact that the terrain of the world had changed, they could no longer follow just the normal road to reach where they wanted.

So, in order to be able to reach Raga, they had to go through several roundabout trips, something that made them take an entire day to be able to reach Raga. Of course, they rested along the way for the night, and they arrived here a day later.

Along the way, they had encountered several monsters that attacked them. Had it not been for the fact that they had all reached the silver rank, then, they would have definitely been having a big trouble when it came to reaching Raga.

After they arrived closer to the outskirts of Raga, they realized that monsters were moving around here. And, the level of the monsters was actually not that low, although they were quite sparse.

This was the same situation as the one that was happening closer to Crystal City. That was something that Henry had not understood until now. But, what he knew was that, this was definitely not a good sign.

And, it was during this moment that they realized that a battle was going on. And, after arriving, they did not engage into the battle directly. Instead, they stood on the side, and waited.

Although they could not hear the conversation between Wilfred and Livingstone, they could tell that there was definitely something fishy that was going on between the two sides. Nevertheless that was not something that they really care about.

But, after realizing that there was a mutated zombie that was going to attack, Henry decided to take action. He looked at Diana, and Diana immediately understood what he was implying.

So, she removed her upper body through the window of the Jeep, before aiming towards the zombie. Then, she attacked from the distance that was several hundred meters away from where the battle was going on.

Since she was at level 9 of the Silver Rank, it was not a difficult problem for her to be able to deal with the zombie. So, the first thing that she did was to prevent the attack that the zombie had launched from reaching the target, and the second time that she attacked, she targeted the zombie directly, blasting it into pieces.

After she was done, she got back into the Jeep and relaxed, waiting for Henry’s next move. As for Henry, after the zombie was taken care of, he decided to help the humans here.

It might be true that he really didn’t care much about them, but, they were part of the human race, and, they might be actually important in the future for the battle of domination.

For that reason, he began using the Jeep to attack. Of course, he targeted the areas that did not have many humans, with the zombies dominating that area. In that way, he would avoid killing the humans, while at the same time, relieving them from the pressure of being overwhelmed by the large number of zombies.

After taking care of the large number of zombies, Henry stopped attacking, leaving the humans to take care of the remaining zombies. And, after 30 minutes, the battle was over.

Cleaning up and collecting the loot that had dropped after killing off the zombies happened next.

At this point, Henry was not willing to continue staying here. So, he decided that he was going to leave, because he was not interested in dominating this city, at least not now.

He had to make sure that he reached his home city as soon as possible, considering that he had already been away for a month ever since the apocalypse descended. Of course, he had been away for more than that, but, his family was in danger for the past 1 month.

But, just as he was about to begin driving away, he noticed that two people were approaching him. From the stats panel, he could tell that they were the strongest people present in the entire camp here.

Although he really wanted to leave, he decided to wait and gain information about Raga. He himself had not been here before, so, with these people being here for an entire month, perhaps they might possess information about there being an opportunity somewhere.

After Livingstone arrived in front of the Jeep, they thought that there was someone that was going to alight from the Jeep to receive them. But, nobody did so.

Of course, Livingstone was not happy about this. But there was nothing that he could do currently considering that he really did not have the advantage as of now.

He went ahead and came to the side of the vehicle, where the windows had been rolled down. He looked into the Jeep, and he was actually surprised by how advanced it was.

It was also during this moment that he suddenly felt greedy. He had already seen the ability of the Jeep, and, thinking that if he actually acquired this Jeep, then, he was definitely going to be able to increase his power drastically.

At that time, he would definitely not be afraid if a large number of zombies came over. All that he needed to do would be to launch several attacks at them, and destroy them.

But of course, he restrained himself considering that he did not know about the current power level of the people in front of him, and neither did he know about their background.

So, he was not going to take the initiative of showing maliciousness from the start. Instead, he began by looking at their information through the ability that all those humans that had reached the Bronze rank possessed.

But, that was when he noticed something that surprised him the most. From the information about the people in front of him, he could gain nothing, absolutely nothing!

All that he could see were several question marks. He could not see the names, the power levels, the affinity and other information about them.

(Of course, what he was seeing was completely different from what Jake had seen when he was looking at the information about Olivia and the rest of the group.)

At this point, he thought about the matter for a moment, and thought that perhaps this group possessed an item or a skill that was able to hide their information from others being able to see them.

And with that thought, the greediness within him increased. If he could actually acquire such a skill or an item that was capable of doing that, then, he was going to be able to attack his enemies without them knowing his current power level.

Henry looked at the guy, and he immediately realized what this guy was thinking about after looking into his eyes. Although this guy was trying to hide it, but, Henry was observant considering that he was at the silver rank. So, he was able to tell that this guy was feeling greedy, but he was trying to restrain it.

"I would like to get information about this city." Henry did not say anything else other than going directly to the point and asking for the information.

Livingstone was brought back to his senses by the question that was asked by Henry. Of course, he was displeased by the fact that Henry had actually asked a question, instead of even going ahead to greet him and introduce himself as well.

Still, he managed to push down the dissatisfaction that he was feeling. At this point, he was thinking that, in the future, if he managed to gain this Jeep from Henry and his group, then, he would be able to do anything to them.

At the same time, he believed that that Henry and his group had actually used the Jeep in order to kill the mutated zombie. Otherwise, how was it possible that they were capable of killing the zombie from a long distance as that, and with just a single shot?

"It is not good for us to be able to talk here. Why don’t you come over so that you can relax a little bit as I give you information about the city?" With a forced smile on his face, Livingstone offered.

From the question that Henry had asked, Livingstone could tell that Henry and his group were not from Raga. Instead, they came from somewhere else.

"There’s no need for that. Just give me the information that you currently possess. We are not going to stay here, we need to go somewhere else." Henry responded indifferently.

Livingstone felt his lips twitching after hearing what Henry had said. He did not expect that Henry was not going to appreciate his offer. Of course, at this point, Livingstone was not thinking about how Henry and his group had actually helped him, or otherwise, they would have definitely died under the claws and jaws of the zombies.

"Actually, there are a lot of things that have been happening in the city. This is definitely not something that I can tell you in just a matter of minutes. After all, there are several mysterious happenings that have happened, but they are filled with danger." Livingstone revealed.

Although he was not intending to reveal the information about where he had gotten the power increase, but right now, he did not have a choice. At the end of the day, it was not as if Henry and his group were going to succeed or anything.

What he wanted was to get Henry and his group out of the Jeep, and after they did that, if he managed to get into the Jeep, then, he was going to kill them before they managed to get to where he had managed to get a power boost.

After hearing what Livingstone had said, Henry was immediately interested. In this apocalypse, it was just a matter of opportunities and those opportunities were always filled with danger. And, that was definitely something that he was looking for.
