Chapter 224: Dilemma

"What happened to her?" Sebastian approached and questioned. He was the one that was in charge of this area, and he had been waiting all along for Adam and the other two to come over.

"Just some little difficulties, nothing much. But, we will be taking care of this." Adam responded after realizing that Olivia did not have any intention of responding to Sebastian.

Sebastian nodded. But still, he felt that there was something wrong. But, he did not ask considering that, currently, he had not gained enough trust from these people.

So far, he had already realized that this group of people was not bad. It was just that, they were quite strict in whatever they were doing. And, they insisted on the fact that, there was nobody that was going to get free meals here.

That implied that, even the old and the children had to do something. But of course, there was a limit to the age of the children that were allowed to do something, or, they could just go ahead and depend on their own families.

But nevertheless, so far, knowing that it was the apocalypse, Sebastian did not say anything. After all, it was good enough that Henry and his group were actually ensuring the safety of these people.

And, from the fact that Sarah was injured, that implied that the enemy this time was so strong. So, if this group was not present inside Crystal City, then, the number of people that would have died today would have definitely been way higher than the one that they had lost.

So, although he really did not understand the concept of the apocalypse where they were claiming that they had to fight for domination, but still, he was able to tell that, the human race was at a disadvantage. That was something that was already mentioned in the prompt that had appeared not long ago.

So, currently, the human race required as many advantages as possible. And currently, for the growth of the entire human race, the method that Henry and his group were applying was not bad.

After all, by trying to do something that was going to improve their own levels, these people were actually gaining merits, something that was used as a currency inside the territory.

Olivia did not speak to anyone along the way. Instead, she went back to the main territory building, before taking Sarah back to her room. And, it was under this lighting that she finally could observe Sarah clearly.

Currently, there was a distorted expression on Sarah’s face. It was clear that she was undergoing pain, although she was unconscious.

Additionally, several dark lines had already begun appearing on Sarah’s skin. This was something that worried Olivia. After all, she did not really know what was going on inside Sarah’s body.

Adam went ahead and approached the bed. He looked at Sarah’s condition, and he could not find a method of dealing with it either. So, after a moment of contemplation, he stated, "Currently, I doubt that there is any method that is capable of dealing with this situation that has appeared."

Olivia did not respond to his words. It was not as if she herself did not know about that. After all, they were in the same world, and they had been together since the first day of the apocalypse.

But still, it was just that it was difficult for her to continue watching from the side while Sarah was suffering. It was just that, she felt completely hopeless at this moment.

Adam did not say anything. Instead, after a moment of hesitation, he stretched his hand and touched Sarah once again. But after touching the armor that she was wearing, he did not feel anything.

Noticing that there was no change, he went ahead and touched her skin. But, it was at that moment that that feeling came again. It was a feeling of danger that was approaching him that made Adam retract his hand at an incredible speed.

She finally understood what it was that Adam was talking about. But still, she was wondering why it was that she did not feel anything when she came into contact with Sarah.

Curiosity driven, she stretched her hand and touched Sarah’s skin that was exposed near her neck. And, at that moment, that part of the body that was touched became dark suddenly.

But in the next moment, another change occurred. That was, the darkness that was gathering at that point suddenly dispersed as if it had met with something that it was afraid of.

Adam was also curious. He finally saw the reason why Olivia was not feeling the same thing as he did. But still, he could not understand the reason why that dark energy did not attack Olivia.

Olivia was not sure about the conjecture that she was having in her mind. So, she went ahead and touched yet another part of Sarah’s body. But, the same thing happened once again. That part became dark, before the darkness was dispelled by spreading into the other parts of the body.

"It seems that the dark mist that entered into her body is still active. But currently, with Sarah out cold, it is going to be difficult for her to be able to control the light element in order to fight against that dark energy." Olivia stated with a frown on her face.

"That’s right. Although it might be true that Smith was actually a silver rank awakener, but still, he was not at full strength during the time that he struck Sarah. And, I do believe that if Sarah was possessing energy at that moment, then, it would not have been difficult for her to be able to deal with him." Adam nodded his head as he responded.

Olivia remained silent, not saying anything else. Anyway, it was not as if there was something that she was going to say.

After a moment, she finally grabbed Sarah’s armor. But, just as she was about to take it off, to make sure that Sarah was comfortable, she remembered that Adam was still present inside the room.

"What are you waiting for? Do you want to see her naked?" Olivia questioned as she glared at Adam.

"Who said anything about that?" Adam snorted as he turned around to leave the room. But still, in his mind, he could not help but think, ’Who would really mind watching a beautiful lady?’ But, he did not dare to say that out loud. Otherwise, if Olivia heard what he was thinking, then, she was definitely going to fight him.

Just after Adam reached the entrance, he stopped. Then, he turned around and looked at Olivia and said, "Currently, we really don’t know if there’s a method that we can use to save her. But still, we can decide to wait for Henry to come back. I do believe that he can have a method of dealing with this issue."

Immediately after saying that, Adam left. He still wanted to handle the situation outside considering that currently, Olivia was not going to do that. And, he was the person that was holding the highest position, just below Olivia.

And, although it might be true that Jasmine’s father, Maxwell was currently taking care of the issues here and there, with the assistance of Sebastian, but, it was not enough.

After all, it was not that easy to manage several tens of thousands of people with just a few people that possessed the management skills. And in this apocalypse, what mattered the most was definitely strength.

Olivia looked at Adam’s receding back before it disappeared in the corridor. After that, she shifted her attention back to Sarah who was lying on the bed.

Without saying anything, she went ahead and removed the armor that Sarah was wearing, revealing the t-shirt and tight pants that she was wearing below the armor.

At this moment, Olivia noticed that the intensity of the darkness that was spreading on Sarah’s body was actually increasing. This made her a little restless.

She could not understand what was going on. After all, currently, Sarah’s strength had been regained, and, the energy in her body was present. That implied that, although Sarah was unconscious, the light energy that was present inside her body was supposed to be fighting against the dark energy.

But, the dark energy was quite unrestrained at this moment. Although the speed that it was spreading at was not that high, but still, it was spreading nonetheless.

Not willing to give up, Olivia took out a healing potion. Before Henry entered the dungeon, he had distributed several healing potions, together with recovery potions to the people that were close to him.

As for the rest of the people, he did not give them the healing potions. But still, they could purchase everything they wanted as long as they possessed enough merit points.

But, she was just about to feed it to Sarah when she realized a problem. Currently, Sarah was unconscious, and that implied that she was definitely not going to be capable of taking the healing potion by herself.

At this moment, Olivia was caught in a dilemma, not knowing what she was supposed to do.
