Chapter 219: Possessed, Strengthened

Sarah could not help but be flabbergasted after realizing that the attack that she had launched, was only capable of dealing such a small level of damage.

But, it was also during this moment that she finally noticed something. Although it was true that the damage that was dealt on Smith was so small, but, she felt that there was the presence of the light energy in the wound.

It was at this moment that she finally came up with an idea. Although she did not understand why there was the light energy that was left on the wound that Smith had suffered, still, she decided to use the light manipulation.

Even though it was slightly difficult to control that light energy that was present inside Smith’s body, but still, she felt that she was capable of doing that as long as she put her focus on that.

But, by doing that, that implied that she was not going to support Olivia and Adam in attacking. But still, she did not mind giving it a try. If it did not work, then, she would go back in continuously attacking as normal.

"I’m trying something. Help me out in case I’m attacked." Sarah said to Olivia who was standing not far away from her. And without waiting for her response, she closed her eyes and focused on the presence of the light energy in Smith’s body.

The two of them were not that far apart. She was only about 200 m away from him, so, she was still capable of sensing that presence. But still, she felt that if she wanted to gain better control over the light energy, then, it was better if she went even closer.

But, that was something that she was not ready to do, considering that she did not even know if the plan that she was having in mind was going to be able to work.

After sensing that light energy, she used the light manipulation ability that she had received, to try and control that energy. But, it was also during this moment that she realized something, in order to gain control over that left over light energy that was inside Smith’s body, she had to spend some energy.

Without hesitation, she did that. And the moment that she gained control over that light energy, she felt that she could do anything with it. So, with a plan already in mind, she began manipulating the light energy so that it could enter deeper into Smith’s body.

And, she was actually directing it towards the direction where the heart was located. She wanted to try and use this light energy to assassinate Smith.

But as she tried to control the energy to penetrate deeper into Smith’s chest, she realized that it was a little difficult. The light energy was not in a great amount to begin with. So, as it began moving, the dark element in the surrounding area of the skin began attacking it continuously.

And, had it not been for the support that she was providing by using her own energy, then, that light element residue that was within Smith’s body would have already been completely eliminated.

Slowly, Sarah began sweating. It was as if she was undergoing a difficult task, something that was continuously straining her mind. But, she did not give up. She felt that, if she managed to do what she was intending, then, perhaps there was going to be an improvement in the level of her light manipulation.

Olivia who had been continuously attacking Smith had already realized that there was something that Sarah was doing. So, she immediately decided to stick around, staying closer to Sarah in case she was attacked.

She did not know what it was that Sarah was trying to do, but, she knew that there was no way that Sarah was going to be careless at the battlefield. That implied that, there was a plan that she was trying to orchestrate.

The cooperation between Adam and Olivia was effective. Adam was continuously using the skills that he possessed, like reckless slash, a skill that allowed him to launch an attack that was dealing 200% damage.

And from time to time, Adam would release shock blast, a skill that was able to send a blast of wind towards his opponent. This was a long-range attack that Adam used every moment that he retreated, in order to compliment Olivia’s attacks.

And as the fight progressed, Adam was getting even more excited. He was a berserker profession holder. And without even himself noticing it, he was so enticed by battles. And, that was especially so if the person that he was fighting against was capable of matching his own strength.

A little curious, Adam decided to check out the panel that possessed the information about Smith. He had been fighting against Smith for over 30 minutes right now, but, until now, he had not gained any advantage.

And, that was the two of them attacking together. Although Smith was actually injured, but, the level of the injury that he had suffered was only small. It was as if Smith possessed unbreakable defenses.

Those light patterns would always light up the moment that an attack wanted to land on his body. And, for some strange reason, all the attacks would be neutralized.

After reading the information, Adam could not help but frown a little. The first thing that he noticed was the fact that Smith was possessed. He finally understood the reason why this guy was not speaking, ever since the time that he came out of that shell.

Additionally, his power level was actually strengthened. He did not understand the concept behind this, but still, he understood that if Smith was facing against a normal level 1 silver rank monster, then, he would be able to dominate them.

"Idiot! What are you stupidly standing there for?!" Olivia’s shout of anger immediately brought Adam back to his senses.

He was a little stunned after realizing that he had actually dazed out in the middle of a fight. And, looking at Smith who was trying to break the ice that was around him, he immediately realized that had it not been that Olivia had acted, then, he would have been attacked at this point.

As for whether he could have survived or not, that was not something that he was willing to think about. Still, he could not help but question Olivia, "Did you know about the position and the strengthened part?"

"Are you an idiot or something? You are actually attacking an opponent without even getting any information about them? You have to stop being reckless like this or you’re going to end up dead." Olivia snorted as she responded.

At the same time as she said that, she released an ice beam towards the direction of Smith. At this point, her face had already gone slightly pale. This was due to the fact that she had already utilized a large amount of energy, consuming more than ¾ of the energy reserves that she possessed.

This was something that was frustrating her already. After all, it seemed that if things went on the way that they were, then, she would have no choice but to use the second chance of the restoration pendant.

But, that was something that she was not willing to do considering that, she had already utilized the single chance here. As for Adam, that guy was actually so reckless in the fight.

And, she was not willing to see him die. Not only due to the fact that he possessed incredible combat capabilities, something that was very important in the apocalypse, but, he was also Henry’s brother, and her subordinate.

For all those reasons, she had to ensure that he did not die here. At the same time, she could not help but wonder what it was that Sarah was doing. After all, until now, her body had already been soaked in sweat, even her hair had already become slightly damp due to the sweat.

Adam did not retort to what Olivia had said. He knew that in the battle, information was always vital. As for him, the moment that he realized that Smith was charging over to attack, then, with excitement in his heart, he had actually gone forward to meet up with him.

He was excited for battle, so, he did not even care much about the information part. But right now, he realized that he was a little careless.

Still, he thought of something and asked, "Why are you so worried about me? Let me tell you something, even if you are so good to me, that doesn’t mean that I’m going to change my impression of you. You have to stay away from Henry, because Henry is reserved for my sister."

When Olivia heard what Adam was saying, she could not help but be angered. What the heck was wrong with this guy’s head? Had his head already become muddled?

Still, although she was angry, she decided that she was going to teach this guy a lesson after this fight. As for now, she had to make sure that she dealt with Smith.

So, she continuously attacked, completely ignoring Adam. Right now, the most important thing was to deal with Smith.

After realizing that he had been ignored, Adam simply harumphed before he turned around and began attacking Smith. The two of them had already fought against several opponents together, so, they were quite familiar with each other, so, the cooperation between the two of them was not that much difficult.

Just after Smith was pushed backwards, his body jolted. Then, black light suddenly surrounded him. Well, although it was kind of light, it should actually be darkness.

Then, the intensity of the black light within Smith’s eyes intensified. In the next moment, Smith turned his gaze and looked towards the direction that Sarah was in.

Stomping onto the ground, he launched himself towards Sarah, completely ignoring Adam and Olivia. The murderous intent around him suddenly erupted, reaching a terrifying level.
