Chapter 203: Second Stage of the Apocalypse

Henry was just about to say something when suddenly, the ground began shaking intensely. It was as if an earthquake of a high magnitude had erupted out of nowhere.

Had it been a group of normal people, then, they would have definitely lost their balance. After all, all of this happened so abruptly, and the group was not expecting something like this to happen.

Bang! Crash!

As the intensity of the ground shaking began increasing, the buildings that had not had been upgraded within the territory protection barrier suddenly collapsed one after the other. They were not the only ones, considering that the majority of the buildings within the city were collapsing one after the other.

The collapsing of the buildings within the city had resulted in another wave of deaths within the human race. Although there were some zombies that were also affected, but, nobody cared about the number of zombies decreasing.

In any case, since the majority of the bases and camps that have been created within the city had already taken a certain building as their own base, during the time that the buildings began collapsing, many people began dying.

Had it not been for the action that was taken by the mutant warriors that were close by, then, the death toll of the human race would have definitely gone higher.

Currently, the catastrophe that the human race was facing was despairing. After all, other than being attacked continuously by zombies and monsters, they had to face the unstable factor of the earthquake that appeared out of nowhere.

In short, chaos intensified within the world once again. And, as they were just trying to process what was going on, the ground began cracking, as several huge cracks appeared. Some people were even swallowed within the cracks, as long as they did not react in time to get out of the place that they were standing in.

Within the Domination Star territory, although the buildings began collapsing one after the other, it was good that nobody was living there. Additionally, the cracks did not appear within the territory. It was as if there was something that was preventing them from entering into the territory.

At the same time as this continued to happen, the red mist that was currently enveloping the entire world suddenly began becoming invisible once again. As for if it was just becoming invisible to the naked eye, or it was simply disappearing from the atmosphere, nobody could tell that.

As the red mist disappeared, out of nowhere, the ground began expanding tremendously. In no time at all, the size of the world had suddenly increased by at least two times.

At the same time, the gravity and the other factors of the world also increased. This would have immediately given those people that had yet to become mutant warriors a difficult time just to walk.

Henry had also noticed the changes that had happened. And, had he known about what had happened in the other parts of the world, he would have definitely guessed that the presence of the red mist was actually here to strengthen the human race, enabling them to survive in the new environment.

After all, after everybody was affected by the red mist, as long as they had not yet awakened, they either became zombies, or they became awakened. And, they actually became level one bronze rank mutant warriors.

It was just that, they were not given a chance of selecting a profession of their own. Although there are some people that had already become bronze rank mutant warriors, that did not imply that they had actually become combat profession holders, but, there were even some of them that had actually received the non-combat professions.

After the red mist cleared away, Henry and the group could finally see the changes that had happened outside of the territory. They could not help but be a little stunned a little. After all, this was too unexpected for them.

Anyway, even after the red mist cleared away, the number of monsters that were continuously attacking the territory protection barrier did not stop increasing.

Had it not been that the territory barrier was actually blasting them into a bloody mist, then, the number of bodies that would have been accumulated outside the territory protection barrier by now would have already formed a small hill.

But right now, outside of the territory protection barrier, instead of the large number of monster bodies, what was there was actually a large amount of blood that had already formed a pool. The blood was overflowing, giving a horrific scene directly from a horror movie.

If a person stepped into the bloody pool, the blood would actually be able to reach their ankle level. That was enough to inform anybody that the number of monsters that had already perished under the counter attacking of the territory protection barrier was so high.

It was also during this moment that Henry could not help but wonder if the territory protection barrier was consuming energy. After all, the Jeep itself would definitely not have been capable of doing the same thing without having a recharge.

Henry decided not to focus on that. He took a step forward, and began approaching the territory protection barrier. He felt that it was kind of unusual that the monsters continued attacking, despite the fact that their eyes had gone back to their normal colors, and they were no longer red as they were before.

"It seems that there is somebody that is controlling these monsters to continue attacking." Adam stated as he stood next to Henry.

"That should be the case..." Henry responded. But, he had not even finished what he was saying when suddenly, another prompt appeared in front of every human within the entire planet.

[The second stage of the apocalypse has begun. It can be considered that currently, the humans are no longer in the trial mode, but, they have finally begun experiencing the real apocalypse.]

[In this stage of the apocalypse, the humans should be ready to face a great disadvantage. But, with great danger comes an opportunity.]

[Good luck to the human race in this battle for domination.]

Henry: "...."

Adam: "...."

Olivia: "...."

Sarah: "...."

Others: "...."

"Seriously?! The first stage was just the trial mode? Are you trying to kid me? Just how many humans have died during the so-called trial mode?!" Adam could not help but exclaim loudly.

He was not the only one. Everybody could not understand what was being implied by claiming that what they had experienced before was just the trial, and now, they had to be ready to face the real apocalypse.

Additionally, it was clear that the human race was currently at a great disadvantage. For one, they could no longer use the equipment and technology that they possessed initially in order to deal with the monsters, while at the same time, leveling up.

And other than that, the other races that had descended into this world came with their own resources. Although it was true that the humans could also use their nuclear bombs to kill the other races, but, was it possible for them to be able to level up?

That was just an impossibility. If they began using those weapons, then, they would be able to clear out the other races. But, during the next stage of the apocalypse, even stronger opponents would appear.

And, what would happen after those that were capable of ignoring the firepower of the weapons that the human race possessed appeared? The weak human race would be exterminated.

"There’s no need for you to say anything about it anyway. After all, nothing is going to change." Henry stated. Currently, they had to struggle.

Even he himself, although he had actually become a silver rank mutant warrior, it was still a fact that he was only considered to be amongst the first top five people to be able to reach that rank.

As for how many people had managed to reach the silver rank ahead of him, and where they were currently, that was something that Henry did not know. But still, he currently knew that, there would definitely be five people that were going to be rewarded after being able to reach the silver rank.

Just after Henry finished what he was saying, and was about to focus on what he had received after coming out of the dungeon, the monsters that were continuously attacking the territory protection barrier suddenly stopped.

And in the next moment, they began retreating before they disappeared. It was as if they had received a command, and all of them retreated.

"I guess another leader has suddenly appeared within the monster race." Jasmine muttered.

That was what everybody thought. After all, it was not that easy for the monsters to be organized. Previously, they came to attack the territory under the leadership of the black tiger. And now, it seemed that there was yet another leader that had suddenly emerged.

As for whether this new leader of the monster race that had appeared had come over just like the other races, or it was just another monster that had managed to reach a higher level, that was something that they were going to experience soon.

"Alright. Currently, the city is in a mess. So, let’s take this chance to take over the control of the entire city. After we are done with stabilizing this place, we will be sitting out." Henry instructed.

The moment that he said that, Olivia’s eyes shone with excitement, but, she was able to control it, maintaining the cold expression on her face. But Sarah and Adam were different. The two of them did not try to restrain the excitement that they were feeling.

As they began making their moves, Henry finally focused on what he had received after reaching the silver rank within the territory dungeon.
