Chapter 193: Rescue

The helicopter approached, but, it could not get too close to the building. So, that implied that there was no way that they were going to take the group away, unless they went to the roof of the building.

But with the zombie currently blocking the entrance, although the captain was not sure about the reason why the zombie was not attacking, but still, he believed that the zombie was not going to allow them to leave.

With that thought in mind, he moved towards the floor to ceiling window, before he attacked. Although the glass was sturdy, it was not capable of handling the pressure and force of a bronze rank mutant warrior.

Bang! Shatter!

The spear that he was wielding clashed with the glass, and the window shattered into several glass shards that dropped towards the ground. The zombies that were unlucky enough to have the glass fall on them were wounded, while some of them even died due to their low levels.

Of course, only the big pieces of glass were capable of destroying the zombies by piercing through their heads. And all of that was due to the speed at which the glasses were falling, due to the height and gravitation force.

After breaking the window, the captain looked at the helicopter. Inside the helicopter, there was a group of four people.

But, what surprised the captain was that, although the helicopter was military, the people inside were not from the military. Although he was not sure about how they managed to get a helicopter that belonged to the military, but still, he decided to put the matter aside for now. They had to get out of here.

Just as he was wondering if they were going to throw the ropes to them, he suddenly saw something that stunned him. Several vines suddenly extended form the helicopter, and into the building through the window that he had broken.

The vines were In a way that they made a staircase. It was obvious that the one that was controlling the vines possessed incredible mastery over them.

After the vines reached the building, the captain took a step forward and tested them. After making sure that they were steady enough, he looked at the group behind him and shouted, "All of you, hurry up! You have to get into the helicopter before the zombies arrive."

All this time, although he seemed to be focused on other things, he had always been keeping his attention on the zombie. But so far, other than the gloomy expression that was on the zombie’s face, there was nothing more that it did.

The group of five survivors both rushed forward. They wanted to begin competing on who was going to get on the helicopter first, but the captain acted immediately, together with the other soldiers, making sure that a person at a time used the vine staircase in order to reach the helicopter.

Although some of them were frightened by the height, but, still, it was way better than being eaten by zombies. So, they managed to gather all the courage that they could, and rushed forward.

It was good that the vines were steady enough, and were capable of holding the five together. In no time, they had managed to enter into the helicopter. Then, the soldiers followed.

The captain decided that he was going to enter the helicopter last because, not only was he the strongest, but, he had to make sure that the zombie did not make any move. In case something happened, he was ready to sacrifice himself in order to make sure that the entire group was rescued.

After making sure that everybody had already gotten into the helicopter, the captain also prepared himself to use the vines in order to enter the helicopter.

But, it was also during this moment that suddenly, two zombies managed to reach the building. Additionally, from the speed at which they were moving, it was obvious that they were not at rank O.

The moment that the two zombies arrived, they did not stop. Instead, they charged towards the window where the helicopter was currently attached to the building.

When the captain realized this, he immediately began using his spear, cutting off the vines from the building. And the moment that he did that, the entire vine staircase collapsed, becoming something like a rope.

In the next moment, the captain jumped, hoping to hold on to the vine. He managed to do so, and the helicopter began moving immediately. But, the zombies did not intend to let them leave. So, the two zombies also jumped after him.

When the captain who had just grabbed the vine realized this, he immediately prepared himself to kick at the two zombies. But, before he could even do that, electric bolts charged from the helicopter that was above him, and landed onto the bodies of the two zombies.

The moment that the two zombies were touched by the electric current, their bodies shook as they were blasted backwards. They knocked onto the building, but were not lucky enough to be able to hit the window, so that they could fall inside the building.

As their bodies began turning black, they began falling towards the ground. In no time, they crashed onto the ground, and, the zombies who had already been burnt turned into a pile of bones that were broken the moment that they came into contact with the ground.

The captain was relieved as he looked at the scene. Although he could not see clearly, at least, after noticing that the two did not wake up from the swarm of zombies that were still moving towards the building, he felt that they must be dead.

At the same time, he could not help but wonder who it was that had managed to strike at the two zombies. During the time that the two zombies were jumping towards him, he had already felt a huge sense of danger. So, it was clear to him that the two zombies were actually at the bronze rank. Additionally, they might actually be a level or more above him.

Nevertheless, he decided not to think of the matter until they got out of here. He began climbing into the helicopter, before finally finding some space. It was good enough that the helicopter was capable of accommodating all of them.

The zombie on the other hand looked at the helicopter that was moving further away. Although he was angry at the fact that he had not managed to get what he wanted, but still, there was nothing that he could do.

’It seems that I’ll have to make some arrangements. This city is currently possessing someone with incredible capabilities. Dual affinity, that is something that should not exist. Someone with such potential should be eliminated as soon as possible. Otherwise, it is going to be troublesome for us to be able to take over the position as the supreme of the world.’ The zombie thought to himself before he finally turned around and left.

As he left, a large number of zombies finally arrived at the floor. But, since he had not given any other command, the zombies that were currently not possessing any intelligence kept on charging towards the top floor.

But, there was one thing that remained. They always avoided the young man, giving him apart in front of a group of zombies.

The zombies on the other hand, after reaching the top floor, they did not stop at that, but they jumped out of the window. It was something that could not be understood.

In no time, the large number of zombies had suddenly turned into a pile of corpses beneath the building. It was just that, only those that had fallen onto the ground first were the ones that had died. As for the rest, they used the bodies of the rest as cushion for landing.

It was just that, some of them had suffered from broken legs and so on. But, the zombies did not have the feeling of pain. So, after they got up from the ground, they began staggering around, looking for a target that they could take a bite.

Inside the helicopter, the captain finally looked at the group of people inside. There were two ladies and two men present. They looked young, but, after the captain focused a little, he was surprised by the information that he received about them.

It turned out that all of them had already reached the bronze rank. Other than that, there was one lady that he was not capable of seeing information about. Although he could see the information that she was at the bronze rank, he could not tell the level, profession, and neither could he tell the name.

It was just like how it was for the zombie. But still, he knew that this lady was actually a human. She only sat there silently, not saying anything. But, the captain was able to realize that she was holding a high position, just from the way that the rest of the group was looking at her.

"Where should we drop you?" The lady asked after a moment of silence.

The captain was brought back to his senses by the question. After composing himself, he responded, "You can drop us in the southern outskirts of the city. That is where we have set the survivor’s camp."

The lady did not say anything, but rather, she remained silent. Still, there was no need for her to say anything, considering that the pilot had already heard their conversation. So, currently, the helicopter had already changed the direction, and it was flying towards the southern part of the city.
