The Soul System in the Apocalypse
Chapter 167: Goading

Chapter 167: Goading

"You three, come over and tell me what really happened. Come and say it in front of this person so that he cannot say that we came over to bully him." Sebastian shouted at the three people that had informed him about what was happening here in this territory.

The three people walked forward. For some reason, they had gotten a little nervous. Moreover, the courage that they had built up the previous day had already worn off.

Right now, looking at the territory in front of them, they could see that there was nothing wrong with it. It was just that the population of the people inside was actually low.

Of course, the thing that they were afraid of the most was the fact that, although Sebastian came over personally, he was not capable of breaching the barrier that was surrounding this territory.

If that was the case, then, could it be that this territory actually possessed an item that was capable of emitting a power of a high magnitude as well?

And of course, they had been here during the time that a group of a certain fighting club came over. That group was easily killed off, not given a chance of retaliating at all.

And when they looked into Henry’s cold eyes that stared back at them, they could not help but feel their bodies trembling.

Sebastian also noticed that Henry was giving the group of three a gaze that was making them uncomfortable. He frowned and stood in front of them, protecting them from the invisible aura that was leaking out of Henry’s body, even though he controlled his aura tightly.

"Are you trying to scare them so that they cannot tell the truth? If that is the strategy that you are planning, then let me warn you, if it is true that you are doing something as heinous as what they claimed, I will make sure that I destroy this territory of yours." Sebastian stated in a cold tone.

Henry on the other hand looked at Sebastian as if he was looking at a fool. In the end, he shook his head, and waited for the three to say whatever it was that they were claiming. Anyway, he himself was also in the dark about the oppression that his territory was putting on the human race.

"I...I...they....that..." Having already been scared, the young man who was yapping around the previous day about how bad this territory was, began speaking incoherently. Actually, at this point, his mind had already gone blank about what he was supposed to say.

The middle-aged woman on the other hand, although she too was scared, she managed to steel her nerves and speak. "They...they prevented parents from taking their children from here."

Although she managed to speak, but still, she could not escape the stuttering. Moreover, at this point, she had no choice but to say the truth, not exaggerating anything at all.

What she had just said was actually true. The territory did not allow the parents to take away their children. After all, if they were taken out of the territory, which parent was going to guarantee that they could protect their children?

More than that, the territory had already spent some effort in order to make sure that the children were not affected by the red mist that was still in the air. So, although it was going to be a group of children who were completely useless at this point, but still, everything was going to change later on.

Sebastian narrowed his eyes as he looked at Henry. Then, he turned his attention and looked deeper into the territory. There, he saw that there was actually a group of children that was playing around.

He could not see the fearful expressions that this group of three claimed about the previous day. Moreover, although it might be true that this group of people prevented the children from being taken away, still, Sebastian did not see that they did anything that went against the human race.

Of course, that was unless Henry’s territory had some plans that they were going to utilize on the children. But other than that, he did not see anything wrong. After all, it seemed that this territory was actually protecting the children, although it was ignoring the adults.

"Why is it that what you are saying right now is completely different from what you told me yesterday? Didn’t you tell me that they forced the children to fight against monsters?" Sebastian turned his attention to the three and asked.

He felt that there was something off here. Could it be that this was just a façade that had been prepared in advanced by the people inside the territory? Or could it be that this group of three was lying to him? But still, he could not understand what benefit they were going to get from this.

"That is the truth. They forced the children to fight against monsters that are made from bones. That is not a lie. There are many children that cried, but they were not allowed to run away. It did not matter about the age that they were in." The middle-aged man who had finally regained his confidence spoke.

He understood that currently, if he did not tell Sebastian something that was actually true, then, they might actually be the ones that were going to face trouble.

Sebastian looked at Henry and asked, "Is what he is saying true? If that is the case, then I will have to trouble you to give me the children so that I can go and take care of them because it doesn’t seem like you are capable of doing that."

Henry on the other hand could understand what these people were saying. After all, he had already been informed about the reason why the necromancer was kept inside the territory, despite being dangerous.

Additionally, it did not seem like there was any other way that Olivia and the group could have utilized in order to make sure that the children received energy in their bodies. After all, they had to try and prevent the red mist from entering their bodies.

But still, he was a little displeased by what Sebastian had just said. After all, whatever was done, although it might seem cruel to the children, but still, this was the apocalypse. And, this was something that was done for their own good.

Nobody could predict what was going to happen later on in the stages of the apocalypse as they moved on. So, it was way better to take precautions, than to take the risks that they did not know the consequences of.

As for the guy who was asking for explanation from him, Henry was not willing to give any. And giving away the children was an absolutely impossible thing. After all, the children had already joined his territory.

They were the ones that had enabled the head count to reach 100, before the territory was finally recognized in the apocalypse. That way, the core of the territory was finally veiled, preventing other creatures from being attracted over.

He was not sure if the children left, whether the territory was going to remain the same, or the aura of the core was going to be released once again.

Henry was not a person who was going to take risks that did not bring in any benefit. Additionally, right now, there was nothing that the other party could do to prevent him from doing what he wanted.

[Name: Sebastian Clinton

Power Level: Level 3 bronze rank.

Profession: SS- Grade Great Sword Warrior

Skills: Energy regeneration, Rotational destroyer.]

Henry had already seen the information about Sebastian. Though, he was a little surprised at the fact that this guy had already reached the third level of the Bronze rank. Not only that, but he was also an SS grade profession holder.

This was actually the same grade as Adam. Henry wondered if this guy was delayed by something from taking the position as the first person to reach the Bronze rank in Crystal City. After all, to be able to get the level that he was in right now, it seemed that he was not a person like Lucas who only became stronger in the apocalypse.

Additionally, he possessed two skills, and from the way that they looked like, it did not seem like they were simple. Moreover, the one that attracted Henry’s attention the most was the energy regeneration skill that this person possessed.

Anyway, although Henry was a little surprised, that was all. After all, currently, Henry himself was at the 6th level of the Bronze rank, three levels above him. If this guy really wanted to fight, then, Henry could easily destroy him with a single attack.

"Why don’t you just mind your own business? This is my territory, and I don’t think that you are supposed to tell me what I am supposed to do in my own territory. So, if you don’t have anything else to say, why don’t you leave and stop disturbing the peace here?" Henry asked indifferently.

Sebastian on the other hand was slightly stunned at first. And in the next moment, the fury in his heart exploded once again. He was having a difficult time controlling his emotions, something that affected him even in the military.

Moreover, from just what Henry had said, it seemed that they might be hiding something from him. And, if they were hiding, then, that thing had to be something that affected the human race. That was something that he could not accept.

Still, although he was really angry at what Henry had just said, he knew that there was no way that he was capable of breaking the barrier that was in between them.

"Why are you talking so big? If you think you have the capabilities, why don’t you come out of that barrier and face me?" Sebastian, who already knew that he was not capable of breaking the barrier, tried goading Henry to come over. Although he could not see through Henry’s stats, he assumed that this was just a method that Henry had utilized to block people from viewing his information.
