Chapter 145: Escaped

While the fight was going on outside, Nelson on the other hand was moving stealthily. He had finally arrived in the building where they were keeping the necromancer. But, he had realized that, Storm had not gone outside to deal with the monsters that had arrived.

’This is going to be troublesome. How am I going to lure out that wolf? If it continues staying here, there is no way that I’m going to get what I want to do. I have to look for a way to distract it.’ Nelson thought to himself as he looked at the building.

At this moment, at the entrance of that building, there was a wolf that was lying there. Currently, Storm was the one that was in charge of looking over the Necromancer. Since he was the one that possessed incredible senses, he would be able to detect the necromancer was trying to do anything out of line.

Nelson had thought that just like everyone else had gone outside, then, perhaps Storm would have also gone out to fight. After all, the territory had been attacked, and the number of monsters that was attacking this time was not low.

It was just that, currently, Nelson did not care if the territory was going to survive this attack or not. But still, there was something that he still cared about. That was the fact that, his brother had been killed here.

And the reason for that, it was simple. He had come over to look for his fiancée, but in the end, the fiancée that he had come to look for had actually betrayed him, allowing him to be killed.

Of course, he knew that Olivia never loved his brother Lucas. But still, at least, Nelson knew that his brother loved Olivia. And that was the reason why he had decided to come and look for her the moment that he was informed that Olivia was in the city.

But, who would have expected that Lucas would have gotten himself killed after he came over? Although it was true that he was using a little too much force, but still, he did not come with the intent to attack.

This was something that Nelson had vowed in his heart that he was going to make sure that he killed the person that had killed his brother.

Currently, everyone in his family had died during the time that the apocalypse descended. And the only person that he had been left with was Lucas. But now, Lucas was also dead, leaving him as the only survivor in his family, other than the extended family members.

Now that he did not have anyone that he loved, Nelson had decided that, even if it killed him, he had to ensure that the one that was involved in the killing of his brother was also dead.

It was just that, he knew that he was not capable of completing something that he had vowed personally. So, he had to seize a chance that he was going to use to make sure that that happened.

He had already witnessed the strength that everyone in this territory possessed. Of course, those that were considered elite members of the territory were the strongest.

He was sure that if they found him here, then, he was definitely going to be killed. That was just the rule of the territory. As long as someone tried to do something that was going to harm the territory, then, that person was going to be killed without hesitation.

’I might not be able to kill someone by myself. But, it is completely different if I manage to get the Necromancer to do the job. I don’t care if the members of the so-called dark race can be trusted or not, but at least, the enemy of my enemy should be my friend, right?’ Nelson thought to himself once again.

After a moment of contemplation, he finally got an idea. Currently, all the adults present in the territory had gone out. Even the governor himself had gone out because he had to get stronger as well.

He was not just someone that was going to sit back, while others were fighting. So, he had decided to take this chance to level up as well. In this way, he was going to be useful in the territory, rather than depending on his daughter to be kept inside the territory.

Only the children, other than the other four who were currently fighting outside, were the only ones that were remaining inside of the territory.

With a vicious expression on his face, Nelson headed towards the territory building. On the ground floor, there was a room that was like a conference room. It was just that, currently, it was being used as the dining hall for the children.

All the chairs and tables that were present had already been taken out. So, the children would always eat when sitting down on the floor.

It was not long ago that they had just finished eating their meals. And, during the time that the alarm went off, all the children were told to stay there. This was in order to make sure that there was not even a single one of them that went out of the barrier. After all, if they went out, they might get killed by the monsters.

After making sure that it was true that everyone had gone out, Nelson opened the door of the conference room. He looked inside and saw that the children were chatting with each other, others had already begun sleeping on the floor, or there were some that were fighting against each other. In other words, it was quite chaotic inside here.

When the children realized that Nelson had arrived, the majority of them finally paid attention to him. As for those that were sleeping, they continued sleeping, unware of anything that was happening in the surroundings.

"Listen up children! I want all of you to go and stay together with the wolf! Currently, the territory is being attacked. The wolf will be able to protect you. So, you have to make sure that you stay with it. Don’t go anywhere far from it, or you might end up being eaten by a monster!" Nelson shouted as he looked at the children with a stern expression on his face.

Silence dominated the room as the children looked at Nelson blankly. They could not understand what or why he was saying that they were supposed to go to where the wolf was.

Considering their number, it was obvious that they were not able to fit in the room that the wolf was at. At the same time, wasn’t that the place that they were keeping that bad guy? If they went there, wasn’t that bad guy going to eat them?

They had already been here for about 3 days now. So, they knew that the wolf was inside the territory, and it did not bite anyone. So, they began treating Storm as a dog.

"You can go and play with the wolf. It will be able to make sure that you don’t pay much attention to what is happening outside. Before you know it, the fight will be already over and you will be able to go to sleep." Nelson stated once again.

At this time, a youth stood to his feet and looked at Nelson. Then he asked, "Why are you telling us to go out? I remember clearly that the vice leader of the territory said that we are supposed to stay here no matter what happens. So, why are you telling us to get out of here? Are you the leader of the territory?"

Nelson already knew that it was going to be a little difficult to convince these children to go out. After all, although it was true that there was a group of small children amongst them, there were some of them that had already reached the age of 13.

Although they might be young, not all of them were idiots. That implied that they would see that there might be something wrong with what he had just said. But still, he had to ensure that these children went over whether they liked it or not.

"I was sent over to make sure that you went there. The battle outside has become more intense, and due to your safety reasons, you have to be close to someone that can protect you. After you have gone there, I will be going back outside to continue fighting." Nelson stated the reason that he had already thought about.

The children felt that it was a little logical. After all coming here, they could not know what was going on outside. But, looking at the blood that was currently on the black armor that was being worn by Nelson, it was obvious that he had just come from outside.

"Okay. All those that disobeyed the order are going to be punished. So, hurry up now. Get going before you get punished. Wake up those that are sleeping!" Nelson shouted. This time, he made sure to put on a very stern expression on his face, trying to make sure that the children were not going to go against his orders.

When the children realize that Nelson was serious, they began making their way out of the room. As for those that had doubts about it, they had no way of confirming if it was true or not.

If it was true, then, they might end up getting punished. And if it was false, there was nothing to worry about. After all, it was not like the wolf was going to kill them.

The children moved chaotically towards the area where the wolf was. And as they approached, the wolf that was lying on the ground looked up.

Of course, among the children, there were those that did not even understand the reason why they came over. So, the moment that they saw the wolf, they perhaps thought of the dog that they had always been spending time together with. So, some of them rushed forward, wanting to play with the wolf.

The scene suddenly became chaotic. And as Storm was trying to push away the children from here, understanding that they might be something wrong for the children to come over, the children were completely relentless.

It was just that Storm was not capable of speech. So, he could not tell the children what he wanted them to do. And, since it was chaotic, Storm’s senses had been slightly affected.

The necromancer who was bound on the wall thought that this was a chance that he could use to get out of here. So, he waited for the moment that he thought that Storm was not paying attention and utilized his skill.

In the next moment, he turned into a thick dark cloud of smoke that merged into the darkness that was outside the room that he was trapped in through the gaps of the window.
