Chapter 144: Controlled

It was not a difficult issue for Olivia and the rest to deal with the large number of monsters that had gathered outside the invisible barrier of the territory. Since they were having an advantage considering that they were at the Bronze rank, a single attack from them was able to kill a large number of monsters.

But, the problem was that, the monsters kept on coming and coming. As for the group that was standing behind, they did not make a move. It was obvious that they were trying to make sure that they were tired, spending a lot of energy in dealing with this large group of monsters, before they finally came over.

This kind of intelligence was something that surprised both Olivia and the rest of the people that were present. After all, previously, they knew that the monsters usually followed their instincts.

Now, they could not understand the reason why this group of monsters came over to attack them. If it was the core of the territory that they wanted, the aura of the core had already been veiled after the territory received more than 100 people.

And now, due to the organization of the monsters, Olivia had realized that there must be an intelligent creature that was organizing this battlefield. So, she decided to save as much energy as possible.

"Make sure to not go all out. Try to make sure that you save as much energy as possible and prepare yourself for a real battle. This is just façade." Olivia stated in the walkie-talkie that she was carrying.

At the same time, she slashed forward, killing the monster that was just about to strike Ivy from behind. Ivy was the little girl who had decided to take on the path of the warrior. Olivia had decided to take her, to ensure that she was safe while she was leveling up.

This might as well be used as a chance for her to gain more experience. In the future, if she was nurtured well, she might become a very strong warrior.

Yes, the girl did not choose a mage path. Instead, she decided to take the path of a warrior. And, the weapon that she decided on was a broad sword. This was something that surprised Olivia and the rest.

It was just that, since Henry was currently unconscious, the girl had not been given a weapon. The other 10 people that had been invited into the territory had also been given armors and weapons.

But of course, there was no way that Henry was going to give them three star equipment. After all, they had to work for it. It was not easy to get a three-star equipment. So, Henry had decided that he was only going to give such high level equipment to those people that had worked for it, or, he was intending to nurture them.

Those that qualified for the three star equipment were only those that had S-grade professions. Just like the ten, Arthur and his group had also been given a set of equipment that was currently at two stars.

Although the equipment was at two stars, a single level from the three stars, but, that level of equipment was difficult to find during this stage of the apocalypse. So, Arthur and his group did not feel that what they had been given was bad. After all, they had not done anything to be given that set of equipment.

Olivia and the rest continued fighting against the monsters. Well, it could be said that they were just killing them, trying to make sure that they attracted the attention of those that were behind.

When Olivia realized that it seemed that those that were hiding behind did not have the intention of coming over, she decided to make a move. There was no way that they were going to continue fighting, yet it was almost night time.

They had to rest. So, since they did not want to come over, she decided to go and look for them. So, she instructed Ivy to go after Jasmine who was not far away from her, to protect her. As for herself, she began making a bloody path as she headed towards the back of the monsters.

They had already killed several thousands of monsters, but, they just kept on coming. Olivia could tell that these monsters were actually not the ones that were supposed to be inside the forest. After all, this was just a large number to be able to survive in such an ecosystem.

There was no way that the forest that was on the southern part of the city was going to be able to support these thousands of monsters. That implied that, the apocalypse had something to do with the increase in the number of monsters.

As Olivia began moving forward, she suddenly realized that she was not the only one. It seemed that even Adam himself was having the cementation as herself. So, since the two of them had begun moving forward, the rest decided to remain behind just in case.

Roar!

At this moment, a loud roar sounded in the air. And in the next moment, the large group of monsters that was attacking suddenly began retreating. At the same time, the other monsters that were behind, began moving forward.

It seemed that the one that was controlling these monsters had realized their plan. Nevertheless, Olivia did not worry much. Instead, she was a little excited. Perhaps this might be a chance that she might be able to use to climb higher in the Bronze rank.

It was not that easy to get monsters that had already reached the Bronze rank. And now, since they had presented themselves at their door, Olivia was not willing to let them go.

In this way, perhaps she might actually become stronger than Henry. After all, she knew that at the same level, she was not Henry’s match at all.

The first Bronze rank monster that she came into contact with was a tiger. But, the tiger had just jumped into the air, trying to attack her using its claws, but suddenly, a large wave of cold energy blasted it.

The tiger was just at the first level of the Bronze rank. Olivia on the other hand was already at the third level. So, the moment that she attacked using blizzard skill, the tiger was immediately frozen into an ice sculpture.

The frozen body of the tiger collapsed onto the ground and broke into several fragments of red ice cubes. The life of the tiger had ended just like that.

It was also at this moment that Olivia suddenly realized that, the number of monsters that had reached the bronze rank was actually high. There were tens of them, and this was just from the front. Currently, the entire territory had been surrounded. So, there might actually be other monsters that had reached the bronze rank in the other directions.

Not willing to waste time, Olivia began utilizing the skills that she had. Additionally, during the past two days, she had been practicing the ice manipulation ability that she had been given.

And with that, the more that she continued to master the ability, the more she realized that the amount of energy that was required to cast a skill was actually being reduced.

So, for now, as she attacked, she was actually using way less energy as compared to before. So, a single attack from her was able to deal with one or two Bronze rank monsters.

And all this while, she had not used the sword after she came into contact with this group of monsters.

An ice beam cut through the air, bombarding three level two bronze rank monsters. The movements of the monsters were immediately delayed by the ice. Olivia took the chance and created an ice spear one after the other, before impaling them into the monsters that were not able to react.

On the other side, Adam was waving his battle axe from left to right and from right to left. He was like a maniac in the middle of the monsters. Each and every time that his attack landed on the monsters, the monster body would either be broken, cut into two, or blasted into a bloody mess.

At this moment, Adam did not care about the level of the monster that he faced. Instead, he was focused on clearing the monsters around him. Additionally, due to the strengthening of his physique, his attacks were more lethal than before.

So, all this while, Adam had not utilized even a single skill that he possessed. Instead, he was just using his pure muscle strength to deal with the monsters. And, it did not matter if the creature was at the Bronze rank or not, but they were crushed with a single attack.
