Chapter 125: Completely Overwhelmed

The leader of the necromancers looked at the massacre that was being carried out by Henry inside his Jeep. His expression was solemn behind the hoodie that he was wearing, covering his ugly face.

He had never expected that it was going to be difficult for them to be able to obtain Crystal City as their base. They wanted to obtain a city as their starting point, before finally beginning their plans of domination of the entire planet.

But in the end, they did not have the capabilities of even dominating a small city as Crystal City, simply because of humans. With the massacre that was being carried out, then, the necromancers would not only lose the resources that they had spent to convert all the zombies in the city into skeleton warriors, but, they were going to lose an important force as well.

Even though he was angry at the moment, he knew that there was not much that he could do. Just from the attack power and the speed of the projectiles that were being launched by the Jeep, he was sure that they would threaten his life as well.

For that reason, he was not willing to face it head on. Instead, he had another plan that he was going to carry out. Even though the timing was not as he had initially planned, but they had no choice.

Even though he believed that that the humans that were currently inside the Jeep were weak, still, possessing an incredible weapon as the Jeep was enough to scare and deal with a lot of forces.

"Continue stalling them for a while. I will be back." The leader of the necromancers stated before finally deciding to leave. He did not give the necromancers any chance of saying anything, as he dissipated into a cloud of black smoke.

This was the same thing that had happened during the time that he had appeared in the battlefield where Xavier was executed by his own sister. This was a special skill that only he possessed amongst all the dark race members that had come over.

After the necromancers watched as he left, their expressions became a little rigid. Previously, their main source of confidence was the leader that was already at the 5th level of the bronze rank.

But now that he had gone away, they had no choice but to grit their teeth, and deal with the problem. They were not sure if they could actually handle the Jeep, they were sure that the skeletons they had sent over were not capable of doing that.

Skeleton warriors had already attempted attacking the Jeep, but, they were all blocked by an invisible force that had appeared around at the Jeep. Moreover, this invisible barrier was actually being used by Henry as another method of attacking.

Just like how a bull would do, he was using the invisible barrier to ram into the skeleton warriors that were not killed in the explosion.

Of course, Henry would have continued to use the projectiles to attack, however, there was a system prompt that he had received.

[50% of the energy of the Jeep has already been consumed by the attack systems. To recharge, the host will require mutation crystals. The lowest level of the mutation crystal that is required to recharge the energy is level 5 mutation crystals.]

Of course, Henry was completely dumbfounded. But, that was to be expected. At the end of the day, there was no way that the attacks that were being launched by the Jeep were coming out of thin air.

[If the energy of the Jeep is completely consumed, all the functions of the Jeep will be temporarily shut down.]

Henry took a breath after reading that system prompt. He thought for a moment before suddenly asking, ’How much energy was initially inside the Jeep before I began attacking?’

Henry wanted to calculate How many attacks the Jeep was able to launch according to the energy. In that way, he might go ahead and save the energy to deal with the high level apocalyptic creatures, rather than wasting the energy on low level creatures.

Henry was stunned. He did not expect that the ’battery’ of the Jeep was that big. If he was the one that was launching the attacks of the same scale as the one that were being launched by the Jeep, then, he was sure that the energy in his body will have already been consumed halfway.

But, even though it was true that the energy of the Jeep had also been consumed halfway, it was just half of 5% of the full energy resource that the Jeep could accumulate.

Before even Henry could ask a question, another system prompt appeared in front of him.

[A single level 5 mutation crystal equates to 0.5% of the energy that is required by the Jeep. As for level 6, it is 5% of the energy required by the Jeep. Of course, the amount of energy that is required by the Jeep will always increase with the upgrades that are made to the Jeep.]

Henry remained silent for a while. But of course, even though he was dealing with the system, the familiarity that he had with the Jeep enabled him to continue controlling It while communicating with the system.

Moreover, he did not need to control the vehicle that much. With the off-road mode activated, the Jeep was never going to get stuck unless it fell inside a deep pit.

Currently, Henry only possessed level 4 mutation crystals. As for a level 5 mutation crystal, Henry suddenly focused on the holographic screen, before making it shift area of focus towards the place where the necromancers were currently at.

After the image was projected in front of him, he frowned. At this moment, he had realized that the leader of the necromancers had suddenly disappeared. Additionally, they did not even notice it.

"It seems that there is more to these necromancers as to what we can see." Olivia stated as she looked at the screen.

Henry did not respond. Instead, he focused on his surroundings and realized that, the skeleton warriors had actually begun dispersing. It seemed that the necromancers had already realized that Henry was only attacking during the time that the skeletal warriors had congregated together.

And since that was the case, they gave the skeleton warriors the orders to disperse, to ensure that, they were not a group of skeletons bunched up together that could be destroyed with a single attack.

Henry simply scoffed when he realized this. This group of necromancers really did not possess brains. Since they had decided to disperse the skeleton warriors, then, Henry was not going to go after them. Instead, he fixated his gaze towards the group of necromancers.

He had also realized that, during the time that he was dealing with the skeleton warriors, the monsters on the other end were also fighting hard. That was especially for the leader of the monsters, the giant bear.

It was easily smashing the skeletons as if they were made of clay. The incredible strength that was possessed in those paws surprised Henry.

But still, the number of monsters that had already fallen under the overwhelming force of the thousands of skeletons was also high. Only those monsters that had already reached the bronze rank were the only ones that were surviving.

But still, they were consuming a lot of energy to resist kind of skeleton warriors. Moreover, the monsters currently did not possess much intelligence, so, they simply fought with the skeleton warriors, rather than targeting the necromancers that were controlling them.

Since the necromancers had already gotten an advantage over the monsters, they had decided to shift some of the skeletal warriors to deal with Henry. But, just like the others, they had decided to disperse the skeleton warriors, to make sure that they attacked the Jeep from both sides.

Just as the necromancers thought that they had found a way to deal with Henry, they suddenly realized that they were completely wrong. At this moment, the cannons of the Jeep were actually facing them.

Their pupils contracted, and at the same time, they reacted. They recalled the skeleton warriors that had already dispersed, trying to use them as a shield to protect them from the explosive power of the projectiles from the Jeep.

The same time, they began retreating while setting up a dark barrier around them. It seemed that this dark barrier was a skill that was possessed by all necromancers.

Even though they reacted rapidly by summoning the skeleton warriors to return, the speed of the skeleton warriors could not match with the speed of the projectiles as they shot out of the cannons of the Jeep.

In just a short moment, the projectiles arrived in front of the necromancers. The moment that one of them touched the barrier, it exploded. At the same time, others that had landed on the barriers or the ground both exploded as well.

The ugly faces of the necromancers that were currently hidden inside the barrier suddenly became pale. At the same time, with the explosion, even though the dark barrier that they had set around them managed to block some of the attack, still, they were blown away by the shockwave.

Bang!

As they landed heavily onto the ground, they spat out mouthful of purple blood as the black barrels around them dissipated. At the same time, they looked towards the direction of the Jeep with horror in their eyes.

Observing from the side was completely different from experiencing it by oneself. Although they had known that the Jeep was actually capable of dealing much destruction, they did not expect it to be to that extent.

The necromancers that were still at the third level of the bronze rank could no longer get back on their feet. Instead, they could only depend on the skeleton warriors to carry them.
