Chapter 120: Ice Manipulation

Chapter 120: Ice Manipulation

Inside the hall that was inside the cave, both Jasmine and Sarah looked on consciously as Olivia stepped forward. Then, the blue light suddenly shot out of the altar, before completely enveloping Olivia within it.

The two of them reacted almost instantaneously, and moved forward with incredible speed. But, they were surprised that, as they tried to approach, they were blocked by an invisible barrier that had suddenly appeared between them and Olivia.

This made the two of them uneasy and anxious at the same time. They did not know what was going on behind that barrier, however, with the bright light that was being emitted from the altar, they could not see anything beyond a few centimeters away from them.

Additionally, they could no longer see Olivia’s figure. It was covered inside the blue light, and since they could not see what was going on inside there, the two of them wanted to try and break the barrier as soon as possible, so that they could rescue Olivia in case there was danger.

But, no matter how hard they struck the barrier with their skills, they did not manage to cause any damage on it. Instead, it was as if their attacks were landing on a piece of cotton. They did not cause any waves on the barrier.

Just as the anxiety of the two of them was increasing, they suddenly realized that, the blue light had already begun receding. Then, Olivia’s figure was revealed in front of them.

At the same time, the barrier in front of them also dissipated. Without even caring about anything else, the two of them rushed forward, to check on Olivia’s condition.

However, as they approached, a silver light and a white light also shot out of the altar once again. Before the two of them were enveloped by the light, they realized that, Olivia was currently in a daze. She did not react at all to their movements.

...

"I guess I should say that you are really lucky to be able to come here. At the end of the day, this place is for those that are fated alone. This is the Elemental hall!" The lady said with a proud voice. And consciously or not, she raised her chin in the air, just showing how proud she was of the Elemental hall.

Olivia arched her brows as she looked at the lady in front of her. She had never heard of the elemental Hall, but, she was not surprised by the appearance of it. At the same time, this was the dungeon that had mystically appeared, so, it would not surprise her if she did not know about the force behind the elemental hall.

Moreover, currently, with several races appearing in the world, with the incredible information that the necromancers also possessed, Olivia would also not be surprised if other forces suddenly began appearing.

At the end of the day, this was the apocalypse, and they as humans did not possess any information about it. Moreover, they were supposed to be ready for anything, as they could not predict the future.

Even the necromancers that possessed incredible information about the apocalypse, did not expect anything like what had happened in Crystal City. They had never expected the appearance of a person like Henry, who possessed incredible abilities that were out of this world.

With his assistance, they were able to limit the necromancers from dominating the entire crystal city as soon as they appeared. So, in the apocalypse, anything was possible, and anything could happen.

Looking at Olivia’s blank expression, the lady seemed a little surprised, but still, she continued, "The elemental hall is an ancient force that was formed by humans. But, the elemental hall is just as it implies, it was only meant for those that possessed the ability to control elements."

Even though Olivia had a lot of questions to ask, since the lady had already begun breaking things down to her, she did not interrupt. Instead, she waited patiently as she listened on.

The lady went ahead and described the elemental Hall. It turned out that, the elemental hall was actually a place where the mages congregated several years ago. As for the exact period, the lady was not even aware, as the person In front of Olivia currently was not the original person.

Instead, it was just a projection that had been left behind, to wait for anyone that managed to find the elemental hall. Moreover, the lady did not say anything about what had happened, and what was the reason as to why all the mages suddenly disappeared.

But still, Olivia suddenly had a link. It seemed that, several years ago, this world was dominated by people that possessed incredible capabilities. Moreover, it was not just the human race, but, the other races were also present.

And, the human race was the dominating one during that time. Nonetheless, the lady continued to explain that, the reason as to why they had left the entrance of the elemental hall open was simply because they wanted to look for people that they could pass their inheritances to.

But of course, not just anybody could get the inheritance. Instead, the owners of the elemental hall had decided on a location that was very close to the goblins camp. The goblins at that time were very strong, unlike the ones that were present now.

Moreover, back then, the population of the goblins had already reached millions. So, in order for a person to be able to reach the elemental hall, they will need to defeat the millions of goblins that would be living in the surrounding area.

Since the goblins always formed teams that were supposed to be patrolling the area, then, no matter who it was, as long as they approached the Elemental hall, they would be noticed.

Additionally, are requirement for the elemental Hall to allow anyone to step inside was simple, they had to ensure that they defeated the goblin settlement.

The conditions that they had set were indeed difficult, but, that was to be expected considering the inheritance that was to be passed.

After a long description, Olivia finally got a grasp of what the elemental hall was. It seemed that it was not a hostile force to the human race. Moreover, she was curious about the inheritance that the lady in front of her was talking about.

As if knowing what Olivia was thinking about, the lady smiled. Then, she went ahead and introduced herself, "I am known as Lumi. I am one of the Guardians of the elemental Hall. The inheritance that I’m going to give to you is simple, I’m going to give you an ability."

Knowing that Olivia will not understand what an ability was, the lady went ahead and explained once again. Her voice was just as cold as it was before, even though the expression on her face was quite warm.

"Currently, with the fact that you are still at the Bronze rank, that implies that, you are still limited with the number of skill slots. For that reason, you cannot have more than five skills at the bronze rank. Nonetheless, it is completely different when it comes to abilities." Lumi explained.

"The ability that I’m going to give to you is called ice manipulation. It is not much different from the profession that you are currently possessing, but, it is not something that can be leveled up. It completely depends on the amount of energy in your body, and your ability to control it." Lumi said as she looked directly into Olivia’s eyes.

Olivia was slightly confused. Even though she could understand that this ice manipulation was something that was related to controlling ice, still, she didn’t find anything that was different from the current profession that she was possessing, other than the fact that, with the profession that she had, she was able to fight at a close combat.

"You might not understand what this ice manipulation ability is, but, I’m pretty sure that you will understand after you exploit. The progress might be slow, and this is to be expected because ice manipulation is something that requires a lot of energy."

"Moreover, if you manage to master the ice manipulation, you will not need to use any skill scroll to do what you want, and neither will you be limited to the number of skills that you can use at a certain level. It is just that, the power of the skills that you will be using will vary depending on your current power level."

After Lumi explained, Olivia finally got a grasp of what this ice manipulation was. From her understanding, it seemed that, even though this ice manipulation was actually good, it was almost completely useless during the beginning stage of the apocalypse.

But nevertheless, this was something good and was going to be of much assistance to her during the later stages. Moreover, without the limitation of the number of skills that she would possess, then, she would be more versatile and free.

Lumi took a step forward and appeared in front of Olivia. Olivia was surprised, considering that the distance between the two of them was about 20 m. But surprisingly, Lumi had covered that distance within a blink of an eye.

Then, Lumi pointed her finger towards Olivia’s glabella. Olivia tried retreating, but she found out that she was actually held in place by a mysterious force. At the same time, a surge of memories suddenly rushed into her mind.

She suddenly felt that the amount of memories that she was receiving was so overwhelming that she could no longer stay conscious. No matter how much she struggled, she suddenly felt that her surroundings had blurred, before they completely darkened.
