Chapter 113: Terror of the Ice Prison

The two attacks finally landed. And the moment that they did so, it was as if time had suddenly stopped. The air even froze for a moment, before an explosion suddenly echoed into the air.

The huge bone mace wielded by the goblin landed heavily on the shield that had been formed by lightning summoned by Jasmine.

Due to the fact that she had used almost all the energy present in her body to form that shield, at least, the attack was blocked. But, there was also the fact that, lightning was not known for defensive capabilities, but rather, it was well known for its ability to destroy.

So, even though it managed to block the attack of the goblin, Jasmine was still blasted backwards. At the same time, she felt that her internal organs were churning, and, she felt that blood was rising to her throat. Had she not prevented it from continuing to raise, then, she would have puked blood.

Landing heavily onto the ground, she was of course injured. A few bones in her body had also been fractured a little. But still, she was able to move, even though not as freely as she could do before.

As for Olivia, the moment that the attack landed on the neck of the goblin, she did not stop at that. Since she had already previously fought with monsters, she knew that, the vitality of these creatures was so high.

So, she knew that, this attack was definitely not enough to make the goblin die on the spot. So, other than using the sword to pierce the neck of the goblin, she also used an ice prison, completely trapping the goblin inside.

Even though it was true that she had spent a lot of energy during the time that she was fighting against the other two goblins, at least, she possessed incredible amount of energy than normal mages.

The goblin was just about to attack Olivia after it felt the intense pain due to the fact that the sword had managed to penetrate from behind to the front, but, the sword was suddenly retracted, while at the same time, it was trapped inside an ice cube.

Of course, the goblin was angry at the fact that it had been sneak attacked. So, it wanted to vent out its anger, but, no matter how much it attacked, it was not capable of breaking the ice cube that it was surrounded with.

Additionally, it had realized that, the ice cube was actually shrinking. And in no time, it was tightly pressed together, not given a chance of moving around at all.

With huge amount of blood leaking out of the wound that was in the neck, the goblin felt its life was depleting. Additionally, the energy in its body was also dissipating, so, no matter how much it tried to break the ice cube, it was not able to do so.

And in no time, due to the fact that the goblin was not able to breathe, losing a large amount of blood, and the cold energy entering its blood system and freezing it, the goblin finally died.

Outside the cube, after she had condensed the ice prison, Olivia suddenly had an epiphany. So, she began condensing the ice prison into a smaller size.

At the same time, she felt that the goblin was trying to resist, but, in order to prevent the ice prison from being broken, she increased the amount of energy that was sustaining it.

After a while, after the ice prison was reduced in size, she suddenly felt that the resistance had become feeble. Then, after a few seconds, the resistance finally stopped. But, Olivia did not dissipate the ice prison instead, she continued maintaining it, because she wanted to make sure that the goblin had died.

At the same time, the two goblins that she had left behind had also noticed her presence. Additionally, they had also noticed that she was currently enclosing their leader inside an ice cube. So, they completely ignored both Sarah and Jasmine who were currently on the ground helpless, and attacked Olivia.

Since she had already dealt a lot of damage to the two goblins previously, with two attacks, she finally managed to deal with them. It was only then that she finally took a deep breath of relief.

But that was just momentarily. It was also during this time that she realized that, the battlefield was actually between goblins that were surrounding them. All the goblins in the camp were actually summoned over, to ensure that they did not escape.

But surprisingly, ever since the leader of the camp came over, all these goblins did not take any action. Instead, they had been observing from the side, while their bodies were shaking.

Of course, the intensity of the fight was completely out of their league. Some of them had also been caught in the aftermath of the fight, and were killed by the shockwave, or attacks that landed on them by accident.

Nonetheless, since they had been instructed to block the path, none of them dared to interfere. And perhaps due to the confidence of the goblin leader, it did not actually ask them to fight after it had realized that the elite goblins that it had come with had been overwhelmed.

Moreover, it had been sneaked attacked by Olivia, so, even then, it was not given a chance of giving any orders to the goblins.

Olivia was currently worried that, after they had killed the leader of the goblins, then, all the goblins were going to rush toward them. But, it was going to be difficult. After all, they had already spent an incredible amount of energy dealing with the goblin leader and the elite goblins.

Even though she felt that the energy in her body was recovering at an incredible speed, and more than that, another prompt appeared in front of her, she was not sure that she will be able to protect the two girls, while at the same time, fighting against the large number of goblins.

As the energy in her body increased, Olivia began moving towards Sarah, and helped her up. Since she was fatally injured, she did not have the capability of standing on her own.

As for Jasmine, she limped and went and stood beside Olivia. Then, the group looked towards the group of goblins that was staring at them with fear in their eyes. From the looks of it, it did not seem like they were going to make any move anytime soon.

Suddenly, Olivia thought of something, and dissipated the ice prison. The next moment, the frozen body of the goblin leader suddenly fell onto the ground. And the moment that it did that, it shattered into pieces of red ice cubes.

It seemed that during the time that it was inside the ice prison, it had actually been frozen. And due to the wound that it had suffered, the ice energy was able to invade its blood stream, and froze it from inside out.

Of course, even Olivia was surprised the moment that she realized that, the body of the goblin leader had actually been frozen into an ice sculpture. And, the moment that it fell onto the ground, it shattered into pieces.

With the shuttering of the goblin leader’s body, all the goblins in the surroundings suddenly looked horrified. Then, shouting, they began running away...

This came as a surprise to Olivia. She had not expected that, despite possessing a very huge numerical advantage, after the leader of the goblins had been killed, the goblins would actually run away.

Anyway, she was not complaining. After all, it was better if the two that were together with her were not engaged in another fight, unless they had completely recovered.

The trio released a sigh of relief. After that, Jasmine finally collapsed onto the ground. After all, the pain that she was experiencing was so intense, but, due to the fact that they were still in a battlefield, she had been trying to hold on, not willing to show any weakness.

Olivia was also relieved. She looked at Sarah whom she was supporting, and asked, "Are you okay? Are the injuries that much serious?"

Sarah felt that several of her bones that had been broken had actually began getting reattached together. So, she looked at Olivia and responded weakly, "I will need some time to be able to recover back to my peak. Additionally, I have already consumed a lot of energy, so, I will have to recover first, before we engage in any other fight."

Olivia was relieved. After all, if Sarah was actually crippled, then, not only would she feel guilty, but, she was not willing to see her friend in such a condition. As for whether she was going to continue staying in the territory or not, she was not sure.

But nonetheless, she had decided that, if Henry decided to kick Sarah away because she was no longer capable of engaging in fights, then, Olivia will not agree to that, no matter what.

"Let’s get somewhere to rest. After that, we will continue moving. We have already spent about an hour here, so, we only have about 2 hours remaining." Olivia said as she carried Sarah, and led the way towards the biggest hut.

Due to the fact that they had been moving previously, they had already gone a little far away from the center. So, the buildings at the center of the camp were not affected by the fight.

Olivia was just about to continue moving, when she suddenly noticed that, Jasmine was still on the ground. Remembering that she had taken on an attack from the goblin leader, Olivia went back and supported her.

With Sarah being carried on her back, and Jasmine being supported using her left shoulder and hand, the three of them went inside the hut that belonged to the leader of the goblins.
