The Soul System in the Apocalypse -
Chapter 107: Dungeon
Chapter 107: Dungeon
Finally, Jake’s eyes landed on Diana. He had already noticed her, and of course, she was the first one that he had noticed in the group. It was just that, he had already known about the summoners, so, he was not surprised by the presence of an elf here.
As he looked at her, he was expecting that, perhaps, this time, she would be the normal one. But, the results that he found completely stunned him.
[???
Race: ???
Power level: ???
Affinity: ??? ]
Jake could not help but get dumbfounded. He could not help but exclaim in his heart how everything was just out of place. After all, he knew that Diana in front of him was an elf. But still, her race was still hidden from him. It did not make sense at all.
Nonetheless, he did not ask anything. After all, if that piece of information was hidden, then, it might be due to the fact that, Henry and his group wanted to conceal the information.
"Keke. Yet another group of humans. I do believe that all the humans that are coming over are quality. So, perhaps, we can finally get higher level undead warriors." At this time, a necromancer finally looked in the direction, and said with a simple chuckle.
The attention of the group was immediately shifted towards the group of necromancers. Nonetheless, even though they really wanted to deal with this group, they did not make any move. After all, there was a prohibition of fighting here.
They knew that, with the presence of the Necromancers here, then, there was not even a single human in the city that was going to be safe. After all, they might be converted into the undead at any time.
As for the monsters, that group was simply standing there, with the monster in the lead giving out an aura of a bronze rank apocalyptic creature. Additionally, it had already reached the fourth level.
This was a surprise to Henry’s group, but still, Henry could understand. After all, the monsters had used the first part of the apocalypse, to kill as many humans as possible. In this way, they were able to level up.
Moreover, during the time that the zombies appeared, they were also in the city. During that fight, it was obvious that they had benefited after killing a large number of zombies. But still, they were overwhelmed by the fearless zombies that did not care about pain and neither did they run out of stamina. So, the monsters were forced to retreat.
And looking at them now, it seemed that that’s common the monster in front was the leader. It was a giant bear with brown fur and several spots with green eyes.
After a simple chat, Jake finally decided to stand beside Henry’s group. After all, he had noticed that, other than the two groups forming an alliance, there was no any other advantage in fighting.
Of course, Henry did not oppose that. So, the two groups had formed a temporary alliance that would end after the event was over. Currently, the human race was the one that was at a disadvantage.
Currently, the mutant warrior association that belonged to Jake consisted of a group of 23 people. As for Henry’s group, it only consisted of six. But still, all of them were elites.
It was also during this time that, Henry finally began paying attention to the ruin in front of him.
Its aged and worn exterior, presented a captivating blend of history and decay. As he laid his eyes upon it, he was immediately struck by the crumbling façade that told the story of its once-majestic existence.
The outer walls, constructed of time-weathered materials such as stone, brick, or timeworn wood, displayed a myriad of textures and shades. Peeling paint and faded hues spoke of the ravages of time, as nature slowly reclaimed its territory.
The once vibrant colors had mellowed into a soft mosaic of earthy tones, lending a sense of nostalgia to the structure.
Sections of the exterior had succumbed to the passage of time, leaving gaps and holes that exposed the building’s skeletal framework. Broken windows or missing doors revealed glimpses of the interior, haunted by shards of glass or remnants of tattered curtains.
Portions of once imposing walls had crumbled away, exposing layers of brickwork or stone that had stood the test of time.
Vines and flowering ivy gracefully intertwined with the decaying façade, breathing new life into the weathered structure. These natural adornments cast a delicate veil of greenery upon the ruin, softening the sharp edges and adding a touch of enchantment to the scene.
Standing tall, yet showing signs of wear, the silhouette of the building was a testament to its former grandeur. Towers and turrets, now partially collapsed or missing their crowning glory, still struck a commanding pose against the skyline. Jagged edges and uneven surfaces told a tale of years gone by, where erosion and the elements had left their indelible marks.
The roof, in varying states of disrepair, may had caved in entirely, exposing the sky above or giving way to the elements that had infiltrated the structure. Moss or lichen clung to the rooftop, adding a touch of verdant life to the otherwise desolate space.
Tremble!
Finally, after waiting for about 1 hour, the ground suddenly began shaking. At the same time, the amount of energy that was permeating from the ruin in front of them increased.
It was obvious that, there was something inside this building. Even though it did not look like it, but, the presence of this energy was enough to tell everyone that, what was inside might be useful to them.
[To all participants of the event. The building in front of you is a ruin of the ancient times. Within it, there is an entrance into a dungeon. Within the dungeon, there are opportunities and dangers.]
[As long as you enter, you will not be able to come out unless 3 hours have gone by. That will be the time that the event will end, and, the ruin will also disappear.]
[To all participants, work hard to ensure that your race dominates.]
Immediately after the words disappeared, the building in front of them began shaking. And after that, a blinding light suddenly erupted from it, encompassing everything around it.
Before Henry and the others could react, they suddenly felt that their surroundings were becoming blurry. At the same time, they felt that the space around them was twisting, and they were off their feet.
In just a few seconds, they suddenly felt that, their surroundings had changed. Moreover, they were no longer together. Instead, they realized that, they were in a group of two or alone.
Currently, they had appeared in a wide plain. Vegetation was lush, but there was not even a single building. Mountains stood tall, and valleys appeared from place to place.
Henry had appeared together with Diana. Since she was his summoned, there was no way that the two of them could separate. And even if they did, Henry could simply summon her back.
He had appeared inside a deep forest. The vegetation here was lush, and more verdant. Looking around, Henry realized that, there were no tracks at all. This indicated that, there are no animals that had been here in a long time. The vegetation was thick, and it was going to be a difficult task to walk through it.
After observing his surroundings for a while, Henry took out the walkie-talkie, and tried contacting the others. But, he realized that, he could not reach either of them.
That implied that, they were either out of range of the walkie-talkie, or, the walkie-talkies did not function inside here.
Currently, Henry was not worried much about the others. The only person that he was mainly concerned about was Jasmine. After all, she was the only one in the group that had not yet reached the Bronze rank.
But at least, they were not allowed to fight against each other. Otherwise, it will have been dangerous for Jasmine if she met with a necromancer. After all, each and every necromancer that they had met before had already reached the bronze rank.
Well, it would have been well if Henry would not have thought about it...
[Inside here, it is survival for the fittest. As long as you meet with a person or an apocalyptic creature that is not of the same race, or the same group as you, you can attack them, and loot their properties.]
[This event can be considered as a test, to ensure that, everyone that leaves this place is an elite. Domination awaits you...]
"F*ck!" Henry could not help but curse out loud. After all, by doing this, it was akin to telling the necromancers and the monsters to attack them. Currently, the humans were the ones that possessed a disadvantage.
"Master, I can detect that, there is a life form around us. And, it doesn’t seem to have good intentions towards us." Diana spoke at this moment.
Henry was brought back to his senses. At the same time, he realized that, since this was a dungeon, then, if it was the same as the one that he had seen in games, then, danger was bound to be everywhere.
Even though they were in a forest that indicated that there had been not even a single animal in this place for a long time, nobody could tell what would happen next.
Just as Henry began focusing, he suddenly heard the sound of movements heading their way. Looking towards his left, he was surprised to find out that, there was a big vine that was heading towards him.
Without hesitation, he took out his sword, and slashed forward.
