Chapter 105: Event Zone

Chapter 105: Event Zone

"Look, there’s one of them that is heading our way." Olivia pointed out.

Henry focused his attention on the screen, and realized that currently, there was a red dot that was approaching them. Additionally, this red dot was more brighter than the rest that could be seen on the screen.

He narrowed his eyes, as he wanted to see if this red dot that was approaching them, had already noticed them, or was just going somewhere.

"Let’s try not to attract the attention of those that are here before we know what is really happening." Henry said, before he drive the Jeep into an underground parking area. Luckily, the Jeep’s engine did not make noise as it moved.

Currently, Henry thought that, the reason of the explosion had to be what had attracted the attention of those numerous dots. Additionally, the condition of the western part of the city was also related to the explosion that happened not long ago.

After driving into the underground parking lot, Henry didn’t move, and neither did the group speak. Instead, they all observed the red dot, and suddenly, they realized something. It seemed that, that red dot was actually following them.

Since they had already moved a distance away, they could only observe a few of the red dots that were at the edge of the screen. As for what was happening to the rest of them, that was not what they could see.

"Let’s get out. If this has already detected us, then we have to deal with it as soon as possible." Henry instructed. The group was also thinking the same, so they all got out of the Jeep, and moved a distance away from it, just to ensure that its safety was guaranteed.

And not long after, they suddenly realized that there was a sound of a person that was approaching at an incredible speed. Since they could no longer look at the screen of the Jeep, they could only depend on their senses.

After just a few seconds, they suddenly saw a figure that appeared at the entrance of the parking lot. And with its appearance, everyone at the Bronze rank except Diana and Jasmine focused on it, and a stats spanning appeared in front of them.

[Necromancer

Race: Dark Race

Power level: level 4 Bronze rank

Skills: Undead summon, dark barrier. ]

Of course, amongst the group, it was only Henry who could see the skills that the Necromancer in front of them possessed. As for the others, all they saw was question marks.

The moment that Henry saw that the level of the Necromancer in front of them was actually the same as the one that they had dealt with previously, he didn’t hesitate at all, but instead, took out his sword, and was about to charge forward.

For a level 4 bronze rank creature, the longer the period that they fought with it, the huge the commotion that would be created. And with that, Henry’s group was bound to face a large group of enemies at the same time.

But, Henry was forced to stop in his tracks when another system prompt appeared in front of him.

[You are all currently within the special zone that has been decided in the apocalypse. This one is mainly to give all of you a chance to level up. It can be utilized by all members of different races. For that reason, a prohibition has been put in place. No fights are allowed here until the end of the event.]

[All those that break this rule will be eliminated.]

It was not only Henry, but, everyone else received that prompt. As for the necromancer, since Henry had been charging towards it, it also looked over, with surprise in its eyes.

"I never expected that the humans were also going to come over. But nonetheless, since you were able to defeat one of us, I guess that you can also try seizing this chance. But nonetheless, you have to know that, you will not be able to get out of here alive after this event is over." The necromancer said in a cold voice.

After that, he completely ignored them, and went ahead, deeper into the underground parking lot.

This series of actions surprised both Henry and the others. After all, they had not expected that, there was actually going to be a zone that was set aside to help them level up.

Additionally, it seemed that it was just an event, and after some time, it was going to end. With that, they prohibition of fighting within this zone was going to be lifted, so, Henry and the others would have to fight.

"I don’t know what kind of prohibition this is, but I think, this is kind of favoritism. From the way that that necromancer talked, it was obvious that they knew a lot of information as compared to the human race. But for us, we only received the information after we had arrived here. Had we not come over, then, we would have missed the chance." Olivia complained.

That was what all the others thought too. After all, they had only received this information when they encountered the Necromancer. It was obvious that, the moment that the two sides met, then, it was bound to be a fight to death.

But, due to the restrictions that had been placed, they were not allowed to fight, otherwise, they would be eliminated. And of course, nobody was stupid enough to try and understand the meaning of getting eliminated. Either eliminated from the event, or perhaps, eliminated from the world.

"Anyway, let us not focus on that matter. This is the apocalypse, and there is no fairness. We have to be keen at all times, to ensure that we don’t miss any opportunity that is presented in front of us." Henry said after a moment of silence.

"That’s right. Since we don’t have to fight during the event, then there’s no need for us to continue hiding. Let us just go over, participate, get stronger, and after we are done, we’ll just have to start the killing." Adam said as he waved the axe in his hand.

"It seems like someone is already itching for a fight." Sarah said with a chuckle.

Adam on the other hand simply glared at her, but, he did not refute her words. After all, he was a berserker. For him, if there was something that he really loved, that was, destroying the enemies. And now, since they were going to a place that was filled with enemies, it was obvious that his blood had already began boiling, anticipating a fight.

"We don’t know what this event is all about. But nonetheless, we have to make sure that we stick together. We are currently at a disadvantage because, not only don’t we possess any information about this event, but, we don’t even know what to expect." Henry said.

"More than that, we are also at a disadvantaged, not only in terms of numerics, but also, the power levels. After all, we have always been encountering opponents that are a level or two higher than us." Henry continued.

After that, Henry took out several communication devices. It was just like a walkie-talkie. Then, he handed them over to the group. These were just amongst the necessities that Henry had bought during the discount when he was in the sea. They were quite cheap, costing only a few level two mutation crystals.

"These are communication devices. In case we get separated from each other, we have to make sure that we stay in contact, to inform others about our situation. If there is a need of help, try to see if you can direct the others using the physical features of the place that you are in."

"Currently, all the communication devices in the country have been cut off. But, the one that I’m using depends on the mutation crystals. Additionally, they are linked with each other. But, for them to work, we will have to inject our energy into each and every walkie-talkie here, so that we can activate a link between them." Henry explained.

The group was amazed. After all, all of them had tried several times using phones to try and contact the people that they knew, but, they realized that there was no signal at all. There was no way that they could contact anybody.

That was also the reason as to why Maxwell could not communicate with the army after the descent of the zombies. But now, Henry had just presented them with what they could use to communicate.

The curiosity towards what kind of ability Henry possessed, to be able to present them with some very useful things like the walkie-talkie increased amongst the group.

Nonetheless, everyone went ahead and injected their own energies into the walkie-talkies around. That way, it was as if they had formed a communication line.

"There’s only one problem. The maximum communication range is only 5 km. More than that, then, the communication will be cut off. And currently, I don’t even know if there’s something else that can prevent the communication." Henry stated.

After that, he took out several mutation crystals that had been gotten after they had killed several zombies back at the territory, and handed them over to the group.

Each walkie-talkie required a level 5 Rank O mutation Crystal. As for how long it was going to last, that was not something that Henry knew about.

"To activate them, you will have to inject your energy into them, before deciding on what energy you want to contact. If it is another person that is using it, they will not be able to use the walkie-talkie to communicate, considering that, they would not have left their energy in any other walkie-talkie." Henry explained further.

After that, the group finally left the underground parking lot, not caring about the Necromancer that was inside. They all were looking forward to what the event was all about.
