Chapter 114: Did You Just Try to Kill Me?"
Chapter 114: Did You Just Try to Kill Me?"
....
While Eren was busy reading the system’s notification—completely immersed in its endless pop-ups and prompts—Seraphina observed him quietly. She assumed he was just distracted by his own world, unaware of her actions. With a calm breath, she closed her eyes and turned her focus inward, trying to sense the magical shackles that bound her soul.
This wasn’t her first time dealing with a contract binding like this. Back in the Demon Land, Seraphina had encountered many who opposed her or tried to restrain her authority. Sometimes, to appease or manipulate them, she would sign a contract that seemed unfavorable to her. It was a clever ruse—she would use it to feign weakness and let their guard down.
Then, when the time was right, she would strike back. Even if it meant enduring the painful backlash of violating the contract, she would grit her teeth and endure it. All to crush her enemies when they least expected it.
Now, sensing the soul-binding chains once more, Seraphina began focusing her demonic energy, layering it around the shackles like a protective cushion. It wasn’t perfect, but it would reduce the backlash to a level she believed she could endure.
’This should do it,’ she thought, her golden eyes opening with a quiet confidence as she stared at the oblivious human boy before her.
Eren, still busy scrolling through his system interface, hadn’t noticed a thing. His guard was wide open. Seeing her opportunity, Seraphina carefully manipulated her demonic aura into a long, razor-sharp claw extending from her right hand.
Despite knowing that the contract would punish her the moment she tried to harm her contractor, Seraphina believed she could take it. As long as she struck fast—before the backlash fully activated—she could end his life and break free.
With their vast difference in power level and stats, there was no question. Seraphina could kill Eren in an instant.
—Huss—
In a blink, she dashed forward, materializing in front of him. Her claw raised, her eyes glowing like a predator about to finish its prey.
Eren’s eyes shifted toward her at the last second, widening slightly in surprise—
And Then–
—BZZZZZZZT!—
A jolt of excruciating electricity exploded across Seraphina’s back. Her body froze mid-motion, paralyzed. She collapsed onto the ground with a thud, her limbs twitching uncontrollably. Her teeth clenched in agony.
’What the hell is this pain?!’ she screamed internally, her vision shaking from the sheer force of the shock.
She didn’t understand. She had reinforced her soul with demonic energy. And even her Pain Resistance trace ability should have dulled the shock enough for her to push through. Yet this pain... it was too much.
’This... this isn’t a level six binding!’ she realized, finally surrendering to the overwhelming agony.
Eren looked down at the twitching half-fox demon with a dull, expressionless face. His voice was calm and emotionless as he asked, "...Did you just try to kill me?"
"N-no..." Seraphina whimpered through gritted teeth as she tried to form a smile but was weak. Her voice shook, her body still trembling. "I was just trying to approach you and accidentally tripped—Ugh!"
—BZZZZZZZT!—
Another jolt surged through her body, causing her to convulse again. The glowing red slave mark on her back pulsed brightly.
Eren’s eyes darkened further, completely turning dull as he looked at her with half face. "...You’re lying."
"W-what? Of course not—"
—BZZZZZZZZT!—
A third, even stronger shock tore through her. Seraphina’s body jerked in a ridiculous, twitchy motion. She clenched her fists and bit her lip to keep from screaming. The pain was nothing like any contract backlash she had ever felt before. Her mind spun.
’Why...? This shouldn’t be happening... I confirmed it myself. It was only a level 6 binding... right?’
As if reading her thoughts, Eren finally spoke again. He reached into his system’s inventory and pulled out the blood contract scroll.
"If you’re wondering why you can’t resist it..."
He levitated the scroll down to her face, letting her see the contract’s full text again.
"...It’s because it’s not a level 6 magic contract."
Seraphina’s eyes widened as she read the scroll again. But this time, the words started changing right before her eyes. The illusion magic that had disguised the scroll faded away, revealing its true content.
=====
Contract Level: 6 Stars
...
...
...
Penalty Clause:
If either party breaks any rule listed above, the offender will suffer a strong electric shock on their back. The shock intensity will increase the more one resists.
Contract Duration: 50 years. This contract cannot be broken by magic, divine will, or any external force—except if Party A dies.
-----
Then, the scroll shimmered—revealing the real text:
=====
Contract Level: 7 Stars
...
...
...
Penalty Clause:
If Party B breaks any rule listed above, the offender will suffer a strong electric shock on their back. The shock intensity will increase the more they resist, or if they try to kill Party A.
Contract Duration: 100 years. This contract cannot be broken by magic, divine will, demonic force, or any external means. Even if Party A dies, Party B must continue to fulfill his last will.
-----
"Illusion magic?!" she realized in horror.
The illusion over the scroll had vanished, revealing its true form. Everything she had agreed to was far worse than she’d imagined. The duration was 100 years. Only she would suffer the penalties. But what was more shocking was—
’Level 7?!’
She screamed internally, her eyes trembling. That can’t be! There’s no such thing as a level 7 contract! The highest known tier was Level 6.
Throughout the entire demon and other race’s land, the strongest known contract magic only reached level 6. And yet the scroll she had just signed held a magic signature far beyond anything recorded in modern times.
There could be only one explanation.
That scroll... it must be from the 3rd Era! An ancient relic from the previous civilization.
"You... you tricked me!" Seraphina growled through gritted teeth, glaring up at the human boy with a mixture of fury and betrayal.
But Eren simply scoffed coldly, the corners of his lips lifting in a mocking smirk.
"Heh~? Same goes to you foxy," he replied in a casual tone, kneeling down in front of her. "Did you really think I’d lower my guard in front of a mischievous foxian demon like you?"
His red eyes locked onto hers, unwavering.
"The one who’s at fault here... is you," he continued. "You underestimated me. You thought I was just some weak, lowly human. And you even forgot that I revealed a lot of your background and secrets just a few hours ago."
Seraphina clenched her fists in growing frustration. Her killing intent poured out like waves, thick and suffocating, as she glared at the human who dared to speak so arrogantly before her. She wanted to rip him apart—to show him what a true demon lord could do.
But she couldn’t.
The magic binding of the contract pulsed behind her back like a leash, warning her. One wrong move and she’d be zapped again, just like before.
For someone like her—once feared as a terrifying Demon Lord, her name alone enough to silence armies—to now be forced into this pathetic, humiliating position... with her head lowered before a mere an inferior species...
She couldn’t accept it!
"You’re going to pay for this," she hissed under her breath, her voice seething with venom.
But Eren only raised one eyebrow, clearly amused by her threats as she still didn’t change her attitude toward him.
"Looks like you forgot what happened a few minutes ago," he said nonchalantly.
From his inventory, he pulled out a familiar object—a small plastic spray bottle, glistening ominously under the dim light.
The moment her eyes landed on it, Seraphina’s entire body jolted.
Her muscles tensed involuntarily, reacting before her brain even processed it. Her face instantly paled, and a cold sweat broke out on her forehead. Her pupils shrank, trembling in silent terror.
"N-No...!" she whispered weakly, taking a shaky step back, as she remember what that ominous and dangerous item did to her.
But she didn’t get the chance.
"Don’t move," Eren commanded flatly.
As if in response, the glowing contract symbol on her back pulsed—and with a sudden electric jolt:
–BZZZT!
"AHH!" Seraphina let out a sharp cry of pain, collapsing back on the floor. She bit her lip to stifle the next scream, trying to crawl away in a panic—but the contract wouldn’t let her disobey her master’s order.
She was stuck.
"Seems like you still haven’t been disciplined properly," Eren said with a casual smile. His eyes were closed cheerfully—until they opened again.
Now narrow.
Now glowing crimson.
Now devilish.
"Well then..." his smile turned wicked. "I don’t mind going for round two. This time, I’ll make sure you’re fully tamed... my little foxy~"
Seraphina’s body trembled like a leaf.
She no longer saw a human in front of her. No, the boy standing there... he was a devil.
"N-No, please... I’m sorry..." she whimpered, her voice cracking as tears welled up in her eyes.
But her pleas fell on deaf ears.
The deadly bottle spray hovered right in front of her face.
And then—
"KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!"
What followed was a scream so pitiful and painful that the heavens themselves might’ve winced. The cry of a poor, unfortunate fox girl echoed through the dark chamber.

...
...
One hour later...
Seraphina was kneeling on the ground with her head bowed low in complete silence. Her once-glorious hair drooped like wet straw, her tail unmoving.
In front of her, sitting confidently on a cheap-looking plastic monocle chair he had taken out from his inventory, was her new master—Eren. His legs were crossed. The evil bottle sat calmly on his lap.
With one hand supporting his chin, he gave his next command.
"Bow."
Seraphina’s body moved immediately—like a trained robot—as she lowered her head and touched her forehead to the floor without hesitation.
"Stand."
She stood up, with straight body. Her hair covered her eyes, but her lips twitched ever so slightly.
Eren continue giving new orders as she followed without hesitation.
"Lay down."
She lay on the cold stone floor, face-up, completely obedient.
"Stand up."
She stood.
"Roll over."
She rolled once, twice, like a tamed pet.
"Sit."
She sat. Expressionless.
Just like that, Seraphina—the once fearsome demon lord—was following every command like a perfectly trained dog.
"Stand."
"Lay."
"Roll over."
"Stand. Sit. Lay."
He began speeding up the orders.
"Sit."
She sat.
"Raise your hand."
She raised her right hand.
"Point your index finger up."
She pointed.
"Now... put your finger in your nose."
Without hesitation, her finger went inside her nose.
"Rub it clean."
She began rubbing her nose with her finger like a–!?
–BOOM!
But then, a powerful surge of demonic energy exploded from Seraphina’s body. Her eyes snapped open in fury as she finally realized what she was doing.
She was—she was acting like an idiot!!
"ARE YOU MOCKING MEEEEE?!" she roared, her hair flaring up like wildfire, demonic pressure shaking the air. Her face flushed red, her eyes glowing with raw fury and humiliation.
She was furious. Absolutely livid.
And yet...
Eren looked at her calmly, still seated with a deadpan expression.
"Yeah. I am."
More veins popped on her forehead.
Her body shook, trembling with rage, and her fangs showed as she glared with everything she had.
But even with all that anger...
She couldn’t do anything to him because of the contract binding.
So, like a wild beast under a full moon, she let out a heart-shaking roar that echoed and shook the entire room chamber—
"GRAAAAAAAAAAA!!"
