272 chapters in and dropped it. Character growth is hella shallow despite it having a theme of betrayal. Consequences are hardly impactful, he never fails not for the fact that he prepares but just because it is explained that he is just like that. Stuff that are deemed hard or outright impossible are overcome by bets and wagers with higher beings that are shallowly explained as wanting to see things entertaining which give the author a reason to rocket the mc to strength and have him clown all over others which is also facilitated by the fact that he has a obsessive desire to constantly hide his strength despite being one of if not the strongest human being on the planet a few months after playing the game and it tranitioning to reality. And the bets with higher beings are comically predictable and also nonsensical in that you know that they are going to give him strength one way or another but the reasons given are nonsensical and these higher beings are just used as plot devices just to boost his strength unnaturally with little to no failure (like literally no failures as he doesn't even get injured at all past a certain point in this novel depsite some situations deeming it impossible to beat he seemingly beats with no sweat and no scratches absultley undermining the difficulty of situations and making everything about this novel regarding difficulty, a joke). And don't even get me started on the characters that he wants revenge on. Most of the ones we know are depicted as assholes and despicible in some way or another and that they mistrested Hoon in some way in the past and once Hoon pisses them off in this regression, they seem to have a nonsensical drive to kill him which seems to be the author's way of making these guys nonsensically irrideemable and having absolutley no depth despite being described as geniuses. They are just used as plot devices to show his overwhelming strength.
All of this to say that, this is a child's fantasy with little to no character growth, depth, internal, external conflict. Which side characters that are laughably useless or have absolutley no impact and has little to no character relations depth. Its just a cheap power fantasy trying to grasp at bigger themes and trying to shove them within a childlike framework and failing miserably. Would not read pisses me off, got me so heated that I had to take a snack break to calm down from this dumpster fire.
