As soon as Raon heard that the Iron Division had sent an urgent request for support, he rushed to the audience chamber.

“I greet the Patriarch.”

He knelt before Glenn, who had risen from the throne and was looking out the window.

“Rise.”

Glenn slowly turned and gestured for him to stand.

“Thank you.”

Raon bowed once more and stood up.

“I heard the Iron Division sent an urgent request for support.”

“Looks like Vice Leader Biran told you first.”

Glenn nodded calmly toward Chad, who stood behind Raon.

“Indeed, a request came in just a short while ago. Though not as much as the Light Wind Division, the Iron Division has accomplished much through difficult missions. It’s rare for them to ask for help first.”

He lowered his brows while holding a letter that seemed to be from Division Leader Trevin.

“That must mean it’s a serious mission.”

Raon exhaled heavily.

“The mission originally assigned to the Iron Division wasn’t difficult.”

Glenn shook his head with a short sigh.

“What was the Iron Division’s original mission?”

“Reconnaissance.”

“Recon…?”

Raon widened his eyes at the unexpected nature of their mission.

‘Then something serious must’ve happened during the reconnaissance?’

Reconnaissance missions, though bothersome and time-consuming, are not typically dangerous since they stay within Zieghart territory. The fact that they sent an urgent request made him uneasy.

“If you go northeast outside of Zieghart’s domain, there’s a nomadic village called Bodri. It was already sizable, but after the war, it grew larger as displaced people gathered there.”

Glenn suddenly brought up the unrelated Bodri Village.

“Yes, I know it.”

Raon nodded, having seen it from a distance before.

“After completing their mission, the Iron Division was on their way back when the village requested help to stop monsters.”

“I’m sure Division Leader Trevin agreed without hesitation.”

Raon smiled faintly, recalling Trevin’s face.

‘Of course he would’ve gone.’

Trevin was someone who never looked down on Raon even when he was weak and of low rank. Even if the request came from outsiders, he would’ve agreed without hesitation.

“Indeed. He asked for my permission first, and I told him to accept.”

Glenn smiled faintly, saying Trevin had properly reported the matter in advance.

“You personally…”

“If that village disappears, the nomads will have nothing left.”

He nodded, as if it were only natural.

“That’s true.”

Raon smiled slightly, feeling the warmth flickering in Glenn’s otherwise cold gaze.

“The initial report said only a few monsters were appearing. They weren’t strong, and they intended to take care of it themselves. But…”

Glenn put down the first letter and opened the most recent one.

“Now they’re saying monsters are endlessly pouring out from land stained in purple.”

He furrowed his brows deeply.

“No matter how many they kill, they keep coming. The monsters have now reached the village. If it continues like this, the nomads’ home will be wiped out.”

Glenn read the letter and folded it.

“Monsters appearing from purple-stained land…”

Raon narrowed his eyes while looking at the folded letter.

‘It could be one of three things.’

A new Monarch’s birth, the Black Tower, or Eden.

Monsters could be gathering due to the birth of a new Monarch—or it could be a scheme by Eden or the Black Tower.

He’d have to see for himself to know for sure.

“Strictly speaking, this doesn’t concern Zieghart. I could order the Iron Division to return with no issue.”

Glenn stated the situation calmly.

“Will you still go?”

He lowered his gaze with weight, probing Raon’s resolve.

“Yes. I will go.”

Raon nodded without hesitation.

“Right now, it may not concern Zieghart, but it could become our problem. And there’s a chance that Eden is involved, so it’s best to act early.”

Even if the incident happened outside their domain, it could affect them later. Preventing it now was the right choice.

“Division Leader Trevin said he wanted to join the Light Wind Palace. And now he’s asking for a mission to prove himself. I like that.”

Raon bowed, asking for the mission.

“Very well.”

Glenn’s cold expression softened into a faint smile.

“As you said, it’s best to snuff out dangerous sprouts before they grow.”

He nodded and lowered his hand.

“I could have assigned this mission to the Heavy Armored Division, but since the Iron Division will be working with the Light Wind Palace, I thought it best for your team to handle it.”

Glenn explained the reason he called Raon.

“I feel the same. Thank you for giving us this opportunity.”

Raon placed his hand over his chest and bowed.

‘This is a perfect opportunity.’

With the Iron Division’s transfer to the Light Wind Palace nearly confirmed, this would be a good chance to gauge the abilities of his future subordinates.

“As the Patriarch said, the Light Wind Division will take on this support mission.”

He formally accepted the mission.

“Since it’s an urgent request, there’s no need to report back to me. Depart as soon as you’re ready.”

Glenn motioned for him to go.

“I’m leaving in two days myself, but it looks like you’re just as busy.”

Sheryl turned her chin slightly, saying she wouldn’t see him for a while.

“Stay safe.”

She waved gently as if to say goodbye.

“Heh heh heh.”

Roenn chuckled as he stepped forward.

“I doubt you need advice, Division Leader. I just pray for your safe return.”

He bowed carefully, as if entrusting Trevin to him.

“Then…”

Raon bowed to Glenn, Roenn, and Sheryl in turn before leaving the audience chamber.

“In the past, I used to worry when I saw his back…”

Roenn shook his head slightly, looking at the door Raon exited through.

“But now, he’s so reliable. No matter what the Iron Division is facing, I believe he’ll bring them back safely.”

He laughed, saying he never expected Raon to become so dependable.

“I feel the same.”

Sheryl clasped her left wrist with her right hand and nodded.

“During the last mission, when Raon stood in front of me, it felt like I was looking at the Patriarch. Like no matter who the enemy was, he would never lose.”

She smiled faintly, saying there was no need to worry about the Iron Division.

“Ahem!”

Glenn began rotating his ankle like he was dancing, clearly pleased by their praise of Raon.

“He’s not that impressive. Just capable enough to handle his duties wherever he goes.”

Despite his modest words, he couldn’t hide his radiant expression.

“During our recent duel, he managed to move even after taking consecutive hits from my Thunderstrike. He’s still inexperienced, but with more experience, few will stand above him.”

Glenn smacked his lips, saying only the leaders of the Five Kings and Five Demons could rival him now.

“Patriarch.”

Shadow Agents Leader Chad stepped up to the platform and bowed.

“While I was on my way to retrieve Raon, another report arrived.”

He bowed and offered a white envelope from his coat.

“It’s from the agent monitoring the Five Divine Orders.”

“The Five Divine Orders…”

As Glenn read the letter, the warmth in his gaze vanished.

A cold aura befitting the King of the North surged around him.

“So they’ve finally decided to make that foolish choice.”

Raon left the audience chamber and returned to the fifth training ground.

The Light Wind swordsmen had all remained there, having heard the news from Chad.

Raon climbed onto the platform and faced the division’s hardened expressions.

Burren, Martha, and Runaan stood in front of their squads, standing tall. Mark Gorton stood at the corner of the platform with his hands folded.

“As you’ve heard…”

Raon spoke as he swept his calm gaze across the Light Wind swordsmen.

“The Iron Division has requested support. If they’re asking for help, it means the situation is extremely dangerous.”

He nodded, stating it wouldn’t be an easy mission.

“But when we were in danger, they came to us without hesitation. Now it’s our turn to help them.”

He placed his hand on [Heavenly Drive], saying it was time to repay their debt.

“Of course! Even if they weren’t from our division, we’d still go!”

Martha shouted that they had to help their own no matter what and nodded vigorously.

“It’s surprising to hear you speak about the division.”

Burren chuckled, looking at Martha.

“But she’s right. It’s only right to help comrades no matter the situation.”

He clenched his fist, saying they must save them even if it costs them their lives.

“Trevin… cried a lot when he thought Raon was dead…”

Runaan bowed her head, saying he had been devastated when he disappeared.

“We have to help now…”

She hugged her newly-forged [Snow Flower Sword] tightly, saying she wanted to help.

“It’s in the east? That’s where the hospen trees grow—strong and elastic! Perfect for supplies!”

Dorian laughed, saying he’d stock up while they were there.

“You’re really obsessed with supplies these days, huh?”

Krein shook his head in disbelief.

“There’s a ghost that keeps using up my stuff! I have to grab what I can when I can!”

Dorian stomped his foot while vaguely cursing someone.

“Sir Mark Gorton.”

Raon ignored Dorian and called out to Mark.

“Looks like we’ll have to postpone testing the new blade.”

“Of course.”

Mark smiled softly, saying it was fine.

“This works out better, actually. I’ve had too many sparring sessions—I’ve been craving some real combat.”

He nodded calmly, clearly having grown in composure.

“Then get ready and return here by this evening.”

“Yes!”

The Light Wind Division shouted in unison and rushed off to prepare.

-Krrrr…

Wrath let out a low admiration as he watched them leave.

-They’ve really grown… I suppose they do become dear with time.

He nodded, saying the Light Wind Division had grown well thanks to his teachings.

‘Well… you’re not entirely wrong.’

Raon smiled and nodded.

‘But why are you so quiet today?’

-What nonsense. I’ve always been a being of few words.

Wrath declared his nickname was the Demon King of Silence and tilted his chin.

‘Bullshit…’

-How dare you call me bullshit!

Wrath flailed his arms, demanding Raon take it back.

‘No, I mean—you’re not even complaining about the food. That’s not like you.’

Normally, he would’ve thrown a fit over camping food.

-You kept your promise to feed me whatever I wanted for ten days. I can endure this.

He wagged his hand, saying he’d bear with it because Raon upheld his word.

‘Wow. You’re actually capable of thinking like that?’

Raon patted Wrath’s head and sincerely praised him.

-Hmph. I am a Monarch of the Demon Realm! My dealings are forged in steel!

Wrath snorted, cheeks red from the praise.

-But you shouldn’t be thinking about me right now.

‘What do you mean?’

Raon tilted his head at Wrath.

-Your sister, of course. She’s been enjoying learning swordsmanship from you. I bet she’ll be thrilled to hear you’re leaving!

Wrath grinned as if looking forward to Sia’s reaction.

‘Ah.’

Raon swallowed dryly as Sia’s face came to mind.

‘I’m doomed…’

Since it was an urgent mission, the Light Wind Division assembled at the fifth training ground before sunset.

All swordsmen stood in formation before the platform as Raon entered.

“Uh?”

Burren blinked as Raon climbed up the platform.

“D-Division Leader… your hair…”

He let out a weak laugh at Raon’s hair, which looked like a swallow had built a nest in it.

“Sia’s work, I assume?”

Martha chuckled knowingly.

“It looks like she went easy on you this time.”

She waved her hand, saying it wasn’t as bad as usual.

“I’m jealous…”

Runaan smacked her lips, muttering vaguely.

“Big Sis Sia’s the only one who can take Division Leader down a peg!”

Dorian cheered, thumping his chest.

“I didn’t expect him to let it slide, even if she’s his sister. Isn’t that right, Sir Gambling Monster?”

Krein turned to the Gambling Monster, saying it was the first time he saw Raon so subdued.

“Ahem…”

Normally, the Gambling Monster would have scoffed, but he averted his gaze, also weak to Sia.

“That’s enough.”

Raon swept his messy blond hair back like Glenn and stood at the edge of the platform.

“As I said, this is an urgent support mission, so there won’t be much rest. Prepare to keep moving.”

In the past, he would’ve had to schedule rest times, but now that every member was a Master, they could minimize even sleep.

“This could be our final mission as the Light Wind Division, so let’s finish strong.”

He made eye contact with each swordsman and nodded.

“Yes, sir!”

The Light Wind swordsmen stomped their feet and roared.

“Then we march.”

Raon stepped off the platform and walked through their formation.

As he passed, the swordsmen followed behind, forming a line like a blade.

Though not an official sword formation, their combined aura was heavy and sharp—a testament to their accumulated swordsmanship.

Raon and the Light Wind Division used the warp gate to reach the edge of Zieghart territory, then headed east.

The area the Iron Division moved to lay outside the boundary, so they had to march through the night.

By limiting sleep to two hours and enduring Nadine bread while Wrath wailed, they arrived half a day earlier than expected.

-Aghhh…

Wrath gagged, trying to scrub his tongue.

-I can endure the lack of sleep, but that bread… How can bread taste like rubber?! It’s unbearable!

He rubbed his tongue furiously.

‘We’re almost there.’

Raon patted Wrath’s head like a puppy.

‘Once we handle this, you can eat properly. Just hang in there.’

He wouldn’t mind eating Nadine bread forever, but the others were suffering. They’d need to rest once they reached the village.

‘Still…’

Raon smiled faintly as he watched the swordsmen behind him climbing the mountain.

‘They’re enduring well.’

Before, they would’ve shown fatigue, but now no one looked tired. They climbed steadily.

-Even those brats are climbing. If you complain, you deserve death.

Wrath snorted, watching Yua and Julius with bright expressions.

‘Right.’

Yua and Julius smiled even more brightly so as not to burden their seniors.

Because of those two, none of the swordsmen could afford to look exhausted.

“Once we cross this mountain, the village should be in view. Just a little more.”

Raon encouraged them and reached the peak.

“…Huh?”

But there was no village in sight.

Fwoooosh—!

Where the village should’ve been was now a vast, ominous sea of purple.
