Chapter 9: Chapter 9 - Command??

When I woke up, I was covered in sweat and shaking in fear and pain. Obviously, the pain is only my imagination, but this dream felt so real that I think I actually felt that pain in reality for a few minutes. I wanted to stop myself from thinking about this shitty nightmare but was unable to do so. Suddenly my mobile rang, and I got startled but finally answered the call with shaking hands.

"Be on the training ground in five minutes," I heard gamma’s voice from the other end, and then he cut the call. I took a deep breath and went to the bathroom. I splashed some water on my face to wake me up from the nightmare. I would have taken a little more time to overcome the feeling, but I don’t have much time. So, I wore my glasses, tied my hair into a bun, and walked toward the training ground. Few males and females were already present there and were standing in a perfect line facing gamma. I went towards him and bowed a little.

"Are you sure aadhya you want to do this?" he asked me, and I nodded in determination. "Fine, stand with them" I went and stood on the right corner. Gamma came in the middle and looked at all of us sternly. "I will train and test you for a whole month starting today. I want all of you to give your best, or I will not think twice before throwing you out of this training. You all have to report at 4 in the morning here; you will be given 15 minutes for breakfast at 9:00 am and another 15 minutes for lunch at 2 pm, don’t expect me to give you even a minute more except this, and at exactly 9:00 pm you all will be allowed to go at your homes. Last but not least, latecomers are not welcome here," he said, giving us time to understand everything he said. "let’s start then."... {go for it, addy. You have to prove yourself}

I sat on Layla’s bed and groaned in pain as my whole body was hurting like a bitch. I have never seen gamma Alexander as mean as today. He never missed a chance to insult us. Yes, you read it right; it’s us and not me. None of us were good in his eyes; he cursed us, belittled us, and at 9:00 pm when he released us, our self-respect was buried somewhere deep inside the training ground, and all of us were trying to stop ourselves from groaning in pain in front of him. The only difference is that they all will be fine by tomorrow morning, while my human muscles will take a few more days to adapt to this schedule and the harsh training.

"I am telling you; she has gone mad. We have to take her to a psychiatrist soon," I heard Layla’s voice coming towards her room. As soon as the door opened, I gave her an innocent smile, and she glared at me.

"Hi," I told her, and she gritted her teeth. "Where is Ellon?" I asked to distract her, and she put her hands on her hips.

"Just because I have a mate now, you can’t distract me using his name," she said pointedly, and I rolled my eyes. She came towards the bed with a first aid kit and started undressing my wounds. "What were you thinking, addy? Enrolling in warrior’s training. You should just have told me to kill you. That would be the easier and faster death" I chuckled at her sarcasm while she cleaned my wounds and again dressed them. I smiled at her, and she shook her head in disappointment.

"Sorry, my dear royal wolf," I teased her, and she rolled her eyes.

"Shut up," she snapped and put the box on the table.

"Where are the others?" I asked her, and she took a deep breath.

"In beth’s room," she told me, and I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion. "She was crying the whole day because Matt and I found our mates," she told me, and I smiled.

"She doesn’t want you to go away from here," I told her, and she shook her head in disappointment.

"She is not crying because of me," she told me, and I again scrunched my eyebrows in confusion "she had a huge crush on matt and was praying to the moon goddess for years to bless her and give matt as her mate, and now with mia in the picture her all teenage dreams came crashing down" I tried to stop myself from laughing, but I gave up and laughed out loud, and Layla glared at me "you are really a bitch" she told me and smacked the pillow on my face.

I wiped my tears and clutched my stomach because my body was so sore that even laughing was painful, "and I thought that she was going to miss you," I told her, and she again threw one more pillow on my face. When I was finally calm, I looked at her, and she was also hiding her smile from me. "So, what was everyone doing there?"... {I am glad I didn’t take my teenage crushes seriously}

"Not everyone, actually, Mom and dad are at alpha’s house. Ellon is trying to talk with Beth while matt and mia are helping him," she told me, and I stood from my place.

"We should also go," I told her.

"Did you forget that she didn’t like you a bit?" Layla pointed, and I rolled my eyes.

"Maybe her hate towards me will help her to forget her heartbreak," I told her, and she grinned.

"Let’s try it bitch" she told me, and we walked inside Beth’s room without knocking.

"Who allowed her to enter my room?" Beth shouted, and I gave a told-you look to Layla.

"O come on, beth, it’s not a big deal," Layla told her and walked towards Ellon and sat beside him.

"Yes, it is. I don’t want a weirdo like her to enter my room," Beth said with venom dripping in every word. Truth be told, I am now very comfortable with this word, but hearing it from Beth is still shocking. She never liked me..yes.. but she never called me weirdo before... {it’s not the time to think about this}

"But what if this weirdo wants to talk to you, beth," I told her, and she glared at me.

"I don’t want to talk to you," she shouted, and I huffed.

"But I am not going anywhere without talking to you," I told her, and she stood from her place... "but you can go if you want. After all, this is your room" I pressed her buttons, and if looks could kill, I would have been six feet under the ground by now.

"What do you want me to talk about, huh? What do you know about us? What do you know about mates? Do you know how it feels when you find that the person you loved for all those years is not the one for you?" she said, and a few tears slipped from her eyes, Layla opened her mouth to say something, but I gestured her to stop.

Beth saw this and became madder. "Don’t do this. She is my sister, not yours. Everything was perfect, but you came into our pack and spoiled everything. Matt was my best friend, and Layla was the best sister at that time, but then you came into our lives and stole everyone from me. Layla, matt, mom, dad, everyone thinks about you, everyone cares about you, and everyone forgot about me" tears are flowing freely from her eyes, and it seems like her anger has died a little.

I looked at Layla, who was already looking at me. I gave her a thumbs up and gestured for her to go and hug Beth, she did the same, and I again went to Layla’s room and slumped on the bed... {I have never done anything bad, but still, people treat me like I was the one who has done the most crimes. What if I became bad??} ... after a few minutes, matt and mia came into Layla’s room.

"That was awesome," mia told me and slumped on the bed. "Ellon was trying to talk with her for almost an hour, and she was not saying anything to anyone" I smiled at her.

"So, you are cool about her having a crush on matt," I asked her, and she chuckled.

"I can’t blame her when my mate is so handsome," she said, and matt chuckled. "Hey, Layla told us that you joined some warrior training," she asked me, and I grinned at her while matt also gave me the same disapproving look as Layla. "that’s awesome," she told me... {why these two can’t be happy for me? They always knew that I wanted to join the warriors}

"I don’t think it’s awesome," Matt said. I rolled my eyes, and at the same time, Layla, Ellon, and Beth also came into the room. Beth’s eyes are red and puffy, but she is looking fine.

"Sorry, Aadhya, I should not have said that to you," she apologized to me, and I chuckled.

"You don’t have to say sorry, Beth. I knew that it was hard for you, but you should just have told me about your issues earlier. Maybe you don’t have to suffer for this long," I told her, and she nodded.

"Now again, on the same topic. You should not join the warriors’ addy. That’s very dangerous for you," matt told me, and I gave him a pointed look.

"It is as tough for me as it was for you, matt. When you told us that you were joining the warriors’ training, I supported you irrespective of the danger, and now I also want the same from you," I told him, and he glared at me but finally gave up.

Ellon sat on a bean bag that was placed on the side and looked at me. "Although I appreciate your dedication and all, what if you break your bone like that pup did today? You are a human. It will take a month to repair a fracture, and if the bone breaks, then your body will take months to heal itself back in shape."

"Which pup?" Layla asked him, and Mia chuckled.

"That baby alpha of your pack, someone broke his wrist bone while training," Mia told them, and Layla and matt looked at me. I looked anywhere but them. All my efforts went in vain when Layla put her hands on her hips and glared at me.

"Tell me bitch, what did you do?" she asked me, and I gave her a nervous smile. I know I have to tell the truth, so I huffed in defeat.

"How about I will tell you in private?" I told her.

"I don’t know you and Ethan are close acquaintances," Beth stated. "I saw him coming out of your room yesterday, and today also he has his eyes on you at the time of pack meeting," she said, and Ellon and Mia clenched their fists... {great Beth just great} ...

"So, that scum is your mate," Mia asked me, and Beth gasped.

"You are mated to an alpha," she said in a whisper, and I nodded.

"Don’t get excited or jealous, Beth. He has already rejected me," I explained, and she again gasped, but this one was more dramatic and louder than before.

"What you did, addy?" Layla asked me again.

"He kind of got mad at me," I told her, and she gave me a pointed look... "And then he pushed me on the wall," I told them, and matt growled. "After that, I don’t know what got into me. I just felt immense anger, and by instincts, I held his hand and twisted it behind him, but I don’t know what happened or how I broke his bone, but I came to senses when I heard the sound of a crack" I told them fast so that they don’t lose their composure. I was expecting some kind of noise, but everyone was shocked and looked at me as if I had grown two heads. To everyone’s surprise, Beth started laughing loudly while clutching her stomach, and one by one, everyone joined her except Ellon.

"I am proud of you addy" Layla said in between.

"And after that, he did nothing," Ellon said and looked at me questioningly. "Did he hurt you?" he asked me, and all the laughs stopped abruptly.

"Nope, my scent came to my rescue," I told everyone, and again Layla and matt were on my side sniffing me like the dogs they were. "Stop it, you creeps," I told them and pushed them down from the bed, which made them fall on their butts.

"It is again gone," matt said, and I nodded.

"Yeah, Ethan told me it was gone in seconds," I told them.

"Wait, did you also smell her actual scent before?" Beth asked others, and I looked at her in confusion.

"What is her scent, Beth?" Layla asked her.

"Jasmine and pine," she answered, and all three of us looked at her in shock.

"When did you smell my scent for the first time?" I asked her, and all this time, Ellon and Mia were looking at us in confusion.

"At arsenal when you killed that vampire. Don’t tell me that you don’t know about it," she said and looked at me wide-eyed... "Did you also not know that you used your command on me?"
