Chapter 87: Chapter 87 - The final war Part II : The answers
Aadhya was unable to think or do anything except feel numb.. even her brain was also unable to process anything. Shira’s body is shaking in pain. Even Ryan was also unable to react after looking at Shira’s condition. They have chopped off both of her feet, and her wounds are bleeding profusely. She looks pale, and both of those rogues are holding her up by grabbing her arms harshly.
"You know I am too irritated by her running away every time. This time I didn’t want to take risks, especially when you are at stake" Greyson explained as if it was nothing big.
"If you took any stupid decision to save me, then I will never forgive you, Aadhya," Shira said in a timid voice which angered Greyson. He slapped her square on the face, and both the rogues who were holding her left her arms, which resulted in her falling to the ground on her already chopped-off legs with her whole weight on them. She shrieked in pain, Aadhya took a step towards her, but Greyson is in between them in seconds.
"I am not stopping you from coming near your grandmother, but before that, this alpha king has to leave these borders with all his people” Aadhya can see desperation in Greyson’s eyes and Shira’s words are also ringing in her ears but the only thing that her brain can understand is .. her grandmother is in very much pain.
It was not the first time Ryan was in the middle of a battle, and it was not the first time when he needed to choose to kill a psycho rather than save the lives of his people, but this battle was different from all the previous battles. He can’t see Shira in this condition, he knows that killing Greyson was a much-needed thing to save the werewolf world, but he also wants to save Aadhya. He is trying but it is hard to think of a way to save both aadhya and shira, if aadhya will give up to his demands. In every previous war, only his decision was the one that decided the flow of the battle, but in this war, only fighting is in his hands. In this war, Aadhya is the one who has the right to make the decision, and if she chooses not to fight to save Shira, then no one will have any say in this.
"If you will listen to him, then he will do the same as he did to you with so many wolves. You can’t be crueller to save me than to save the whole werewolf world, Aadhya" Despite the pain, Shira shouted at her, "I have an option to choose my grandchild than to choose and save you, but I didn’t act like an emotional fool... Think practically Aadhya" she finally started crying hard in pain and emotions. Of all the people who ever got the chance to meet Shira, none of them can ever say that ’she is weak’. She never showed her true emotions to anyone. Everyone thinks that she is some daredevil who never gets scared of anything, that she is a super wolf who is never afraid of death.. but how can this be the truth... Is it really possible not to be scared of Death?.. Or is this fear just a myth?? Yes, this is a myth. No one is scared of death. Everyone is just scared of the pain that they have to feel when they will die; Everyone is scared to lose the people they love, everyone is scared to even think of the people who will be left behind after their death, and everyone is scared of going to some unknown place about which no one knows.
"I believe in you, munchkin. Please don’t let me down," She cried helplessly. While Greyson is looking extremely mad but he can’t kill Shira, or he will never get the chance to manipulate Aadhya.
"Take her inside", he barked orders at the wolves.
"I believe in you, munchkin," Shira said in a timid voice with a pleasant smile and tears of pain. "I will always believe in you" with it. Before anyone grabbed her, she removed the bun stick from her bun. Aadhya and Ryan both lunged toward her together, but she was faster than them. She removed its cap and stabbed that silver blade directly in her heart.
Aadhya ran towards her and changed into her human form. She took her torso in her arms and tried to stop the bleeding from her wound.
"No, Gramma. We will tackle the situation together. We will kill this man, please don’t go. I have already had my share of losing people. You can’t do this with me" She can’t stop herself from crying now. Why is all this happening to her? What has she done to deserve all this? Why can’t the goddess have mercy on her even once? And if all this is going to happen with her again and again, then why didn’t she kill her too?
"You know I am not always the one to be blamed in every situation" She heard a melodious voice from behind, but Aadhya ignored it. She only knew that her Gramma was dying in her arms right now. "I know you can hear me", she again heard the same voice, and this time too, she ignored it. "Don’t you want to know who I am?" she again asked, and this time Aadhya turned towards the source of the voice. She saw a golden glowing figure near her.
Though she cannot see the person properly, she can still figure out her beauty. Her golden hair is long enough to reach her mid-thighs, and she is wearing a gown made from golden mist. She is wearing a huge but delicate crown on her forehead, which is woven between her hair, and it has a huge golden stone in between many small stones. She is a breathtaking beauty, and Aadhya doesn’t need an introduction to know who she is.
"What do you want now? Have you left anything with me?" She said to her while clinging to Shira’s body, "Why are you here?" She looked around... though she was still in the same place, none of any other people was there... not even Ryan. When she finally realised that Ryan was not with her, her heartbeats spiked and the fear of something happening to him and others shook her to the core. The only thing that came to her mind first was.. ’not him too.’
"What did you do to them?" Aadhya lost her shit on the moon goddess.
"They all are safe and sound", she replied to her calmly, but still, Aadhya didn’t believe her. "You should let her go now. She also deserves peace" When the moon goddess said this, Aadhaya looked at the figure that she was holding. She is surprised to find that she is not hugging her Gramma. Instead, she is hugging a mist figure, but as soon she removes her hands from it, the figure vanishes slowly into a thin year.
"Where did she go? Gramma... Grammmaaaa," She shouted and looked around everywhere, but Shira was not there. "Why are you doing this?" Aadhya finally gave up and asked the moon goddess, "Have I done anything bad to you?" she asked in utter seriousness while the tears were constantly flowing from her eyes, but the moon goddess didn’t answer her. Instead, she is still calmly hearing whatever Aadhya is saying.
Aadhya sat on the ground where Shira was, and all the beautiful memories that she had shared with her started coming to her mind. "Tell me what I have done bad. I need to know it... there is no way you just let all the things happen to me when I have not even done anything bad."
"Don’t you want to ask anything?" Moon goddess asked her, but Aadhya was still silent. Suddenly both of them heard another female voice which caught their attention successfully.
"Trying to kill another innocent" when Aadhya turned in the direction from which the voice came, she found a woman standing there. Although she looks like a normal human, the outline of her figure is hazy, which is enough to prove that she is anything but a human.
"I am not here to hurt her", though no one knows why the moon goddess answered her when she didn’t have to... but she did.
"Stay away from white wolves", the lady sneered, and that’s when Aadhya realised who she was... She is Brinda’s soul. "I will not let you even touch them."
"I am not here to hurt her" before their talks escalated further, Aadhya got up from her place.
"Are all those people around me fighting right now?" she asked, and the moon goddess shook her head negatively. "Fine, then, as both of you are here. I want my answers" before any of the two ladies say something, she continued, "Why didn’t I have ’scent’ before?"
"Your wolf is wary of every living being around you. She hid your scent so that she could save you and herself from the people around you. This is also the reason why she didn’t show up before," the Moon goddess replied.
"Then why did she release her scent on a few occasions before."
"That was because of the situation at that time. She is connected with the people around her who are good to you. Though she can’t believe them much to show herself, she still can’t let them land in trouble. She has always done everything that she can to save the people you love. When the blue moon pack was attacked on your birthday, all the wolves of the people that are connected to you felt that there was something wrong, and they were on high alert, but even the alpha of the blue moon pack was unable to feel anything" Aadhya nodded on this and moon goddess continued.
"Though you don’t remember much, your wolf has always done her best to save you and herself in every situation. She never let those traumatising memories surface again. You only saw glimpses of them when your wolf was also tired and sleeping.. that was the only time when you were able to know about your past in the form of nightmares. When she saw Ryan in his full mystic form, she felt the mate pull at its best... she tried her best not to reveal herself to the king, and in all this, she used all her energy, but that silver injection was a surprise for her too... which in the end resulted in you having a minor heart attack."
"Ok, so if I am a white wolf from birth, then why was I never able to mind link dee before?"
"You were able to receive his messages because of his connection with you, but your wolf has not even revealed itself to even Dee’s wolf. So, when you changed into your wolf form, it was easy for both of your wolves to connect" Aadhya nodded, and slowly all the things that had always bothered her started clearing in her mind.
"So, all the memories about me changing in my wolf form and the death of mom and dad... she removed all those memories," She asked again.
"Not removed, but she hid those memories from you."
"And why do I have two mates, and why was the mate bond still between Ethan and me when I have already got my second chance, mate?" I asked, and this time she didn’t reply to me instantly like the previous time.. she took a few minutes but finally started telling me something that I should have known from my childhood.
"Your soul is the mixture of two souls" When she said this, Aadhya got even more confused about it. "It is not because of me", She clarified, looking at Brinda "though Shira was successful in saving your body of a white wolf, a part of your soul died the same day when your mother gave birth to you."
