Chapter 85: Chapter 85 - The unbearable pain

Aadhya’s POV -

When I woke up again, I found Greyson sitting just next to me, and he was looking at me with concentration. I averted my gaze towards Dee, who was still not in his senses.

"When is he going to wake up?" I asked him.

"Not soon. I gave him more sedatives an hour ago" he got up from his place and now has another injection in his hand. "We should continue where we left. No need to panic. It is not as concentrated as the previous one." I didn’t say anything and waited for him to inject me, but he stopped. "Can’t you let beauty take control of you? I wanted to talk with her. I want to see her" .. {as if I could do that. I didn’t even know the ’beauty’ you are talking about}... "Common, let her out now."

"Don’t you understand? I didn’t even know that I had a wolf a while ago. How am I supposed to ’let her out? If I was able to do that, don’t you think I would have healed myself till now? That sling in my hand is not for show," I said to him in irritation, and from his expression, I knew that his patience was also running thin. I can feel the power radiating in the room. It is so tense that I can literally feel it in my body. Someone knocked at the door, and after a minute, Reed came inside along with two rogues and a very bloody semi-naked Ethan.

"We found him near the borders" Greyson is still looking intently at me.

"Why didn’t you kill him then?" Greyson’s voice was so cold and deadly.

"He is an alpha-born master. I thought that you would want him alive," the rogue on the right side replied.

"I don’t want anyone now. I have what I wanted" Greyson’s words troubled me... {Is he going to kill Ethan?}

"He is her friend", I cursed Reed, and that’s when Greyson finally turned towards them and looked at Ethan properly.

"Alpha born, and that too in this condition. How many rogues took him down?" he asked Reed.

"He killed three wolves and injured two" Greyson again looked at Ethan’s body, and Reed continued, "they attacked him with silver knives. That’s why the wounds were not healing" .. {that’s not possible. I know Ethan’s capacity very well. Although he has always been a jerk to me, I still can’t deny the fact that he is strong. Gamma Alexander has always been extra strict with him, and he has succeeded in making him the strongest wolf of the blue moon pack. There is something fishy in this} he nodded and then looked at the injection in his hand. "If the subject has himself come here to meet me, then I will surely use this opportunity to its full."

"He will die the instant you will inject him," I said to him instantly, and that’s when Ethan opened his eyes and looked at me. "What are you doing here?" I asked him and wriggled in the straps that were still not letting me get up from the bed.

"I was jealous that you are going to enjoy it alone. So, I also came here," he said and coughed when a rogue punched him "give me a break, mate. I am talking with her"

"That’s not the time for a joke Ethan’’ I said to him with gritted teeth.

"Well, that was not the time to follow an insane white wolf, addy... but you did the exact thing, didn’t you?" I looked at Greyson, who was not interested in anything we were saying. He is thinking something very deeply, and his eyes are focused on Ethan’s body.

"I never got the opportunity to experiment on a fully grown alpha body. Does he have a mate?" He asked Reed, and Reed didn’t seem to know the answer to this. "Do you have a mate?" he asked Ethan, who smirked evilly at him.

"Keep guessing" Greyson became mad at this and went towards him. He was going to inject him when I shouted. I screamed with all my energy and acted as if I was in pain. Greyson was by my side in seconds.

"What happened?" He checked my vitals. At once, I thought that he caught me because I was just faking this all, but suddenly the vitals started fluctuating .. {thank you, my wolf, if you are really listening}.. and Greyson looked scared. He took a small bottle and filled its contents with the injection, and injected it into my body. I started feeling dizzy, but I continued acting. I can feel my eyelids becoming heavy, but I tried my best... {I was born in the wrong place. Only Hollywood is the place where I belong}...

Greyson shouted orders to Reed, who ran out of the room instantly. I was not expecting this, but in an instant, Ethan overpowered those wolves and snapped their necks bare-handedly. Greyson was so scared for me that he didn’t notice Ethan.

Ethan took the injection that was near him, and within seconds he came near Greyson and stabbed the injection and pushed its contents into Greyson’s body. When I thought that finally, things were going in my favour, Greyson transformed his hand into claws and stabbed Ethan, and fell to the ground.

"I will kill you", he whispered before losing consciousness completely. Ethan came towards me, his wound was bleeding heavily, but he unstrapped me first.

"Don’t say anything... and especially don’t laugh at my stupidity", he said, and I couldn’t help but feel relieved.

"Thanks, Ethan," I said and hugged his torso. He seemed to be surprised at first, and his heartbeat also spiked up, but then he patted my head softly.

"That’s what friends do," he said, and I let him go. Both of us looked at his wound, which was still bleeding. "I wonder why my body is not healing itself" I am also thinking the same... {Is it because Wilson has done many experiments on Greyson? Is it possible that his claws turned venomous after those experiments?}... He took a white cloth from the side, and after putting some medicine on it, he tied it around his waist, which covered the wound, and the bleeding stopped.

"Here, take this", he gave me some type of herb. "This will decrease the impact of the injection, and it will also hide your scent... I don’t think you need it, but still... we should not take more risk," He told me, and at the same time, Dee stirred and opened his eyes. I went towards him, and the thing that shocked me was his eyes. His wolf is in complete control right now. He didn’t say anything, just hugged my torso.

"Here, eat these, Diego," Ethan said to Dee complied without saying anything. Ethan has already cleaned all the blood from his body using the cotton that was in the room ."Now, I have already informed alpha. I don’t know how much time he is going to take, but we need to try our best" I went towards Greyson and looked at the injections that were on the table. I smelled all of them and injected the one in his body that had the most concentrated silver in it. His body twitched, and he thrashed a little, but I knew that he was going to live.. {just like I was still alive}. I took the remaining injections and all the surgical blades, scalpels, knives, and scissors that I found there with me. I gave a few injections to Ethan and a few to dee and tied the blades all over my body... {we need to hurry up}

"Just make sure that you don’t get injected by these injections yourself... and dee, don’t let your body transform into a wolf, please" both of them nodded, and we went outside. We exited the room and found ourselves in a corridor. There are many doors in it, but no sound can be heard from any room.. {no one would have heard anything that happened inside then... but still, we have to be fast. Reed will be back anytime now} I looked at Ethan, who was looking in pain now.

"I know the way, but there are many werewolves, vampires, and witches in between" I nodded and looked at both of them. Though Dee’s wolf is in control, he is still looking scared, and the blood can be clearly seen from the cloth that Ethan had tied around his waist to stop bleeding.

"We will take stairs.. stay behind me and take care of dee. If something happened to him, then I will kill you" he chuckled at this and looked at dee.

"My life is in your hands, mate," He said to dee, and I started taking cautious steps when the door on the side opened, and a rogue came out of it. It startled all of us, but suddenly all the doors opened one by one. I pushed that wolf inside, Ethan and Dee followed me, and luckily no one saw us. All this happened in seconds, and the wolf is still startled to do anything. Luckily this is not a room. It is just something like a janitor’s closet. He came towards us, and without wasting time, I stabbed an injection into his body. He screamed and fell to the floor while thrashing violently. I can see his nerves and skin turning ash grey where I had injected him, and slowly his thrashing stopped. He is still alive, but I can see that he is breathing his last few breaths now... {that’s scary... I don’t want to do that}... I shook my head and looked at both of them. Ethan is still looking at the dead body while Dee is simply standing there with closed eyes while Ethan’s hands are on Dee’s ears.

"You looked a lot scary just now," Ethan said to me, but I just ignored him.

I went towards the door and opened it a little. I can hear the sound of many footsteps running downstairs "fast, we are under attack", I heard a voice, and this news gave me relief. We were in that janitor’s closet for almost fifteen minutes, and after that, when we were sure that there was no one on the floor, we went out of the room and walked toward the stairs....{Thankfully, this building is not as huge as I expected earlier}... When we reached the ground floor, suddenly Reed and Greyson came in front of us out of nowhere... {What the fuck}

I came in front of Ethan and Dee. Greyson’s wolf is in control of his body, as I can see his golden eyes, and he is looking extremely mad. "I will handle this, Aadhya. Take Diego and get someone for help" Ethan tried to come in front of me, but before it, a group of rogues and vampires overpowered us...

"Leave them, Greyson. It is between you and me. Don’t drag others in it," I told him and found him already looking at me without even blinking. "Ryan is going to come here no matter what you do. You also know that your plan has failed. If you want something to happen in your favour, then you should run away from here, you still have time, or we will kill you," I stated the facts confidently.

"I was wrong. I thought that I would make you my heir but no... you are not loyal... you will not be my heir now... You will be the weapon to destroy that alpha king. Now I am going to kill you. I will give you such death that everyone will remember the consequences of doing something against me. He came toward me, and I glared hard at him. He took those injections that were in my hand earlier and smirked...{I am not going to be scared of him now... enough is enough. If those stupid rogues were not holding me, I would surely have killed him}... I didn’t cower away this time. Instead, I looked him in the eye and smiled confidently...

"Go on, Greyson, this will be the only chance when you have a chance to kill me because if you let me go this time... then" I stopped and looked at all the people who were standing there right now and smirked evilly. Greyson took a step away from me and went towards Ethan.. {no, his target was me.. not Ethan or dee}... I need to think of something.. I can’t let this happen. I was trying to think of something when this time, Greyson didn’t waste even a minute and stabbed the injection in Ethan’s chest.

Suddenly my knees gave up, and I fell to the floor. I can see that Ethan is screaming in pain, but still, I am unable to hear anything. I can see the same scenario happening with Ethan that happened with that wolf a while ago. The area near his chest where he was being injected started to turn ash-grey. I felt as if someone was cutting a very important part of my soul. Those wolves are not holding me anymore. I crawled towards Ethan, but I was unable to understand what I should do now... {I have survived all this, he could also do it}... I took his hand in mine...

"You are fine. You can do this, Ethan... I survived all this.. you can also survive. You are strong... you can also survive" my whole body is turning numb. His eyes are focused on me, and now blood has replaced the tears. I tried to wipe his face, but those blood tears just did not stop. I looked helplessly at others "help, please help" I placed Ethan’s head on my lap, and tears started flowing from my eyes. "Please, somebody help", I cried harder "he is dying. Please help me," I sobbed, but no one came to help me. I felt a soft touch on my hand and felt very minor tingles. I looked there and found Ethan’s hand on mine. "Please don’t die", I pleaded to him, and both of us cried hard on this. His body is still shivering, and I can see on his face how much pain he is in.

"I knew it," Ethan said while crying and coughing blood. "I k-know that mate bond is not broken .....from my side" His hold on my hand is becoming weaker with each passing second, so I took his hand in both of my hands and kissed his hands.

"Then don’t go, please... Please don’t go. I know you can fight it" I tried to make it stop, but he cried harder and shook his head.

"I can’t bear this pain for much longer, addy", he cried "it is so unbearable", he coughed again. "I forgot to give you chocolates. It was in my bag. I missed the chance to be your friend again" We both cried again at this. I can feel my heart shattering into pieces.

"You were always my friend, you are still my friend, and you will always be my friend", I confessed, and he coughed more blood and tried to smile despite the pain.

"I am glad that this weirdo is my friend" he raised his other hand to wipe my tears, but his body started thrashing again. I hugged his torso tightly to stop him, but after a few seconds, he stopped on his own. That was the moment I realised that he was right. The mate bond never vanished. It just faded so that we could move on with our lives.

I felt as if he had taken away my soul with him. I felt as if again I am sitting and crying in the woods, but this time Ethan is not going to come for me. He is not there to give me chocolates, and he is not there to tell me that we will complain about bad kids to luna. I am just alone in the forest, wounded and lonely. I left his torso and raised myself. His eyes are still open, the blood tears are still flowing from his eyes, but his heart is not beating anymore.

"Et-Ethan", I tried to shake him... "Ethan, get up", I shook him harder "get the fuck up, Ethan", I shouted, but he didn’t react. I heard a very familiar eerie laugh which triggered something inside me. I turned towards Greyson, who was laughing and dancing in excitement while all the others were too shocked to do anything.

"See, this will happen when you do not listen to me," he said and laughed like a maniac "beauty has not been a good girl." I looked at Ethan and closed his eyes.

I placed my hand on his heart, and slowly I could see fur sprouting from my body.. "for you... my mate," my lips moved on their own...
