Chapter 8: Chapter 8 - Future plans

He groaned in pain while I stood there like a puppet. I am too scared and shocked to do something.

"How in this hell can you be so powerful?" he asked with gritted teeth.

"I don’t know, I was just angry," I told him, and he glared at me, but his expression changed in seconds, and he sniffed the air. He closed his eyes and started taking deep breaths.

"I can smell you," he said in a hoarse voice... {now I want him to get out of my room}

"You should go to the infirmary," I told him and opened the door for him, I looked at his wrist, which was swollen, but I knew that his werewolf genes would repair his wrist in a few hours or max to max till tomorrow... but he has to bear the pain till then "I can come with you if you need help" I added guiltily.

"I don’t want anything to do with you," he said harshly, and I shrugged... "keep this mate thing secret, and you will be able to live your life in peace," he threatened me, and I looked at another side to hide my smirk. He exited the room, but suddenly I remembered something and called him in a whisper. He stopped instantly but didn’t turn toward me.

"Are you able to smell my scent even now?" I asked him and his shoulders slumped.

"No, it stayed for a few seconds only," he said, walking outside the pack house at full speed. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I took my cell from my pocket to tell matt and Layla about this, but as soon I remembered where they were, I again stuffed the cell in my pocket... {let’s not disturb them this time}

I am happy that my friends got their mates, but I can’t ignore the truth. Stella was right when she told me that Matt and Layla had to leave the blue moon pack and if they were gone from here, I would have no one to call a family. I am not saying everyone hates me, like Ethan and his friends. The bitter truth is that I am just a nobody to everyone else.

I went to the bathroom to take a quick bath to stop my raging thoughts. After a bath, I changed and went towards the alpha’s office and knocked on the door. After a minute, I heard alpha Aiden’s voice ... ’come in’ ..., so I entered the room. In his office, everyone is present, luna Olivia, beta pair, gamma pair, delta pair, and even Ethan, also with his wrist covered in a bandage.

"What is it, aadhya?" alpha asked me stiffly.

"I wanted to talk to you about something," I told him in a steady voice, but my heart was beating very fast.

"Go on," he told me to continue while he was still busy with some papers.

"It’s something personal, alpha," I told him, which caused him to take a deep breath, and I could feel Ethan’s gaze on me.

"Something important?" he asked me in irritation.

"For me... yes," I kept my answer short and clear "if you are busy, then I will come later," I told them, but Ethan stopped me.

"We were going to be busy every day in the coming months. We can’t ignore the daily pack duties for the mate ball," he said to alpha Aiden.

"Guess you are right, son," alpha told Ethan, clearly impressed by his views about the pack. "We will discuss other details after lunch. Till then, you all should do your regular duties," he told everyone, and they exited his office except Ethan, alpha, and Luna.

"Sit, Aadhya," alpha told me, and I sat on the chair. I looked at Ethan, and he looked at me pointedly... {How many times do I have to tell him that I am not revealing this mate thing to anyone} ... "Tell us what it is," he told me, and now all three are looking at me.

"I am thinking about shifting in human settlement alpha" as soon as I said this, Ethan’s face turned white as if he had seen a ghost. Alpha looked at me in confusion, and Luna was observing me.

"Reason?" Luna asked.

"I feel out of place here. I am a human, and living with werewolves is not easy for me," I told her politely, but by her looks, I knew that she was not done with her questions.

"You have been a member of this pack for almost 12 years. Do you want to tell me that suddenly you think it is hard for you to live with werewolves?" Luna Olivia is a harmless woman but lie in front of her, and she will not leave you in peace until you tell her the truth.

"Layla and matt are the only family I have in this pack, they found their mates this morning, and in the coming days, they will leave this pack. I don’t know how to live here without them, and being a human, I don’t have any chance of getting a mate. I think it will be good for me to go into the human world and try to build a life there" I told them the truth, and this time Luna did not ask more questions.

"We can’t let anyone enter and exit our pack of their will, dad," Ethan said while trying to compose himself. "Just because her friends are going to leave the pack with their mates doesn’t look like a strong reason for me, and she can make more friends if she wants." He told them, and now Luna is looking suspiciously at him, "we have invested in her upbringing from the time her parents died. She has to pay back the debt. We are not doing charity here," he said, and alpha nodded.

"Do you have another reason, Aadhya?" alpha asked me sternly, and I already knew that he was in support of Ethan... {ok, now it’s not my mistake. You called for it, Ethan}

"I met my mate, alpha" as soon as alpha and Luna heard that, their eyes got wide in shock, and Ethan looked as if he was going to faint any time, "and he rejected me on the spot. After all, I am a human" both of them are trying to understand whether they should show their shocked expressions in knowing that a human like me got a mate or feel angry because my mate rejected me.

"Who is he? Is he from our pack?" Luna asked me calmly.

"I am sorry, Luna, but it’s between my mate and me. Can I keep this thing private?" I asked her politely while trying not to look at Ethan. She did not say anything but nodded. "Thank you."

No one said anything for a few minutes. "Do you know that after exiting the pack, you will be treated as a rogue in our world?" alpha asked me, and I nodded "and also, that rogues are not welcomed in any pack" I again nodded. "Do you have any plan on how you will survive in the human world?" he asked me.

"I just wanted to go away from here, alpha," I told them in desperation.

"So, your mate is from our pack," Luna said, and I hesitated in answering her. "Maybe we can do anything in this matter. You have not accepted his rejection, have you?" she asked me.

"Yes, I have," I said, and she rubbed her temples.

"You should not have done that," she told me, and this irked something inside me.

"Why?" I asked her pointedly. "Why should I have not accepted the rejection of the person who is ashamed of calling me his mate? He did not even have to think before rejecting me. He left me alone when I was thrashing in pain because of his rejection." I took a deep breath and looked at both alpha and Luna "he left me alone to fuck someone else, and you know what, I felt his betrayal. I felt him having fun with someone else when mate bond punished me for his actions. What did I do to deserve this? Is it my fault that I am a human? Or is it my fault that the moon goddess paired me with him? He did all these things only because of one reason," I paused and then continued, "because I am a human. Did you ever thought of killing yourself to stop the pain that you were feeling because of someone else’s actions?" I asked them, and Luna shuddered. At the same time, alpha rubbed her arm to calm her. I smiled, looking at their adjoined hands "mate bond is a blessing for some and a curse for some, but in my case, it will be the death of me" I chuckled on my own statement.

Alpha took a deep breath. "I have to talk about it with beta hunter," he said, and I nodded, but Ethan interrupted again.

"You announced two hours ago that no one is allowed to exit the pack or travel out of the pack, dad," Ethan told him still in a normal tone... {somebody, please shut his mouth}

Alpha nodded and tried to think of something. "I can’t let you exit the pack before mate ball," alpha told me softly, "but I can help you a little. I understand that you don’t want to reveal the identity of your mate, but you can tell me his rank or profession. I will assign you some work in which you will not come in direct contact with him," he told me... {as if it was that much easy when my mate is the single rank holder in that position}

"Can I join the warriors?" as soon as I said that few creases appeared on alpha’s forehead, and Luna gave me a pointed look.

"Is it suicide planning?" she asked me, and I stopped myself from rolling my eyes at her.

"Gamma Alexander taught me for four years, Luna. I accept that I am a human, but you should not forget that I am not just a human." I told her, and she was not looking convinced, " I don’t have any scent so that no one can smell me near them. I know I can’t mind link, but mobiles also work fine in emergencies. The pack has loads of work to prepare for the mate ball, so the more helping hands, the better, and last but not least, if in case I die, then I don’t have any family that will mourn for me or will be affected by my death" I tried to convince them.

"Not having scent doesn’t make you invisible, Aadhya. They still can see you, and sadly their senses and speed are better than you, and in that case, your mobile is a little slow," alpha stated the truth, and I tried to think of some other strong point "if you have some other strong reason than you can tell me."

"Gamma can test me as he tests every werewolf who wants to serve as a warrior."

"You can’t fight a werewolf on your own, Aadhya," this time Luna told me... {just let me serve as a warrior, please}

"I am a member of this pack, and according to the rules, every member can appear for the ’warrior tryouts.’ If you will deny my request, then is it not discrimination?" I asked, now looking at both of them, and none of them said anything.

"Fine," alpha said, and I smiled "you can give trials."

"Thank you, Alpha," I told him cheerfully, and his eyes became unfocused as he mind linked someone.

"I informed Alexander about it, and he will call you in the evening. You can leave now," he told me, and I stood happily. I went to my room and lay on the bed. Finally, I am feeling excited about something, I just have to give my 100 percent, and maybe this time I will get what I want. I was tired from all the drama and lack of sleep, so sleeping was the best thing I should do now. I set the alarm on my mobile and checked whether the door was locked or not. I don’t want Ethan to come into my room again... then I lay on the bed, put my glasses on the side table, and closed my eyes.

"AAdhhyyaa..." my heart is pounding in my chest, but I can still hear another whimpering near me. I heard the sound of a sword slashing the air again when I heard a cold, eerie voice.

"Stop, don’t kill her."

"Did you not hear the boss’s order?" Another voice asked

"Look at her. She is a miracle, and miracles are a gift for us by God. We can’t deny god’s gift," that person with an eerie voice said.

"What do you want to say?"

"Don’t get me wrong; I am not saying that we will not kill her. Death is written for this pup even before she was born, but I want to do some experiments on her"

"Are you going insane? Do you think this pup can survive your experiments?"

"Who wants this pup to survive? Do you?" he paused and continued, "I don’t want her death to go in vain. If you kill her, you will dump her body, and that’s all, but if you will give her to me, who knows, maybe I would be able to get some results before her death" he suggested, and the other man is silent for few minutes.

"What about the boss?"

"Oh, there is no need to tell him. My lab is already hidden, and no one knows about my experiments except a few people. We will tell him that we did what he said, and the matter will be settled."

"Fine, but no one should know about it."

Everything became silent, and the only sound I could hear was the beeping sound of some machinery and the smell of medicines and chemicals. I heard the footsteps of a person coming near.

"Ahh, what a beauty you are," I heard that cold, eerie voice near me. "I just wanted to give you a few more days to live, sweetheart, nothing else," he said and chuckled. "I know I am brilliant," he said, laughing like a maniac. I heard shackles clinking and then felt a cold metal tied to my feet and wrists. "Tell me, sweetheart, do you want something particular," he asked while I was able to only hear a whimpering. "Aww, let’s start with this one," he said, and I felt him injecting something into my body. Before I understood anything, I felt someone replace blood with lava in my veins. I wanted to shout and cry because of the pain, but I felt like someone had tied my tongue. I tried to thrash, but my hands and feet were already tied. I can hear a little voice whimpering and howling lightly, but I am unable to hear something more or see anything else because everything is still dark. Suddenly the pain exceeded, and the last thing I remembered was that bone-chilling laugh.
