Chapter 74: Chapter 74 - A family to love

Ryan’s POV -

I don’t know when I slept this peacefully last time. I woke up almost half an hour ago, but as Aadhya was still sleeping, I didn’t dare to move an inch. I will not say that it is not torture to sleep with her like that because first, her T-shirt that she called ’comfortable’ is not much comfortable for me because it is so huge on her petite body. It keeps getting upward with every slight movement, which distracts me more than I would like to accept in front of her. Second, due to her wounds, I can’t hug her tightly to make her stop moving, and if she continues moving like that, then I am afraid she will hurt herself.

Someone knocked on the door, and Aadhya stirred in her sleep, but I patted her waist softly till she went back to sleep. After a minute, Shira entered the room, and she already had a goofy smile plastered on her face.

"She is still sleeping," I whispered, and she was now smirking at me. "What did you want?" I whispered again.

"Lily is waiting for you downstairs," she whispered, which I really appreciate... {yeah, she should respect our mate’s sleep}

"Tell her to come later. Chicky is still sleeping" She smiled at me and shook her head.

"Although your actions are making me very happy, ...it is time to get up. Elders can be here anytime, and I don’t want them to see her using you as her bed and pillow," she whispered, and I rolled my eyes.

"Let them think anything they want. Chicky is their Luna queen, and no one in this world can deny this," I whispered cockily, and while she still had a smile on her face, I knew she already had a befitting comeback.

"She has not become a Luna queen till now. She is just your mate. Moon goddess has not granted her the crown. So, there is high chance that they would want to do something not to accept a human as their Luna queen" her words angered me, but it is the truth that I can’t deny "now, get up and gear up. Although I know that she can handle these things on her own, you still need to support your mate today," she said the last sentence loud and clear, again making Aadhya stir her sleep. I again patted her waist, and she snuggled backwards and was still sleeping soundly. Shira narrowed her eyes at me, and I huffed.

"Ten more minutes and I will wake her up myself," I said to her dejectedly, and she nodded and went outside the room.

I closed my eyes and hugged her lightly. Though I still can’t smell her scent, her touch is just enough to keep me sane... {We will get through this council approval shit for sure. I am not allowing anyone to doubt our bond} ... I was lying calmly with her when someone came inside the room with a bang which startled me, and Aadhya sat on the bed wide awake with her gun in her hand... {woah, that was fast. Her gun was lying on the table seconds ago. Her speed impressed me} ... When I saw lily standing in front of me, I glared at her, and from Aadhya’s expressions, I could see that many profanities were just on the tip of her tongue. Shira and dad came behind her; while Shira was looking pissed off, dad looked confused.

"Did you not teach her to knock before barging into someone’s room, ben?" She asked dad while glaring at Lily, and I didn’t know how to react to this... {but she is wrong in shifting lily’s anger on dad though}... before I say anything, Shira beat me into this.

"Words, lady. Did I teach you to talk like this?" both of Shira’s hands are on her hips, and she is giving a pointed look at Aadhya. Her words immediately impacted Aadhya, and she lowered her gun and looked at dad.

"Ryan promised me chocolates. Do you want to take one and forgive me for talking like that?" I couldn’t help but laugh at her words, and she turned and looked at me.

"What is there to laugh about?" she asked me with so much seriousness that I had to seal my mouth shut. I looked at dad, who was trying hard to stifle his laugh.

"Is she your mate, Ryan?" Lily’s furious question snatched away everyone’s attention.

"Yes, she is," I said to her without even wasting a second, which made lily glare at Aadhya first and then at dad, "you said that his mate was reed’s daughter. You said that there are ninety-nine percent chances that Ryan will never have a mate" I can’t help but feel anger surging in my veins at the tone that she is using with dad.

I don’t think I needed to respect our friendship in this matter, "He said the right thing. Aadhya is that one percent that has beaten that ninety-nine percent" Lily opened her mouth to say something, but I cut her off. "She is my mate, and for the last time, I am again clarifying this to you that I don’t love you anymore. I gave up on you and our relationship the very moment when I met your mate because that was the right thing to do. I hope you will also do the same" I got up from the bed and looked at dad. "Did the elders from the council arrive? They wanted to meet Aadhya."

"But she already had a mate, and he is very much alive and is, in fact, adamant about taking her with him" I can’t help but feel annoyed and angry at her.

"Why don’t you leave my matters to me, lily? I am very much capable of deciding whom I want in my life and whom not" Aadhya’s voice was calm. She also got up from the bed. "Gramma, Doctor said that I should not wet the wound on my back, and I seriously needed a bath," I told her, and she smiled and went towards her.

"Oh, I will give you the bubble bath as before" she blushed at this and glanced at me.

"I am not done talking," lily shouted at me, and dad looked sad for her.

"We can talk in my office," I told her so that dad should not witness our discussion anymore.

"Don’t forget to explain why you entered Ryan’s and Amara’s room when Ryan was not in the pack or why you entered gramma’s room when she was in the coma" I was shocked by Aadhya’s questions, but when I saw lily’s expressions and the way her heart beats spiked... I knew that whatever Aadhya said was true. "Don’t you think these topics are more interesting than the same ’I love you’ talks?" Aadhya asked her with a pointed look, "and don’t even try to hurt him as you did with me when I asked you about this. King is not gentle enough to spare your life" I am unable to comprehend anything now. King is more than eager to question Lily, while dad is looking at her as if he is seeing her for the first time.

"I am not making assumptions, ben. She is left-handed, and the wolf paws we found outside Amara’s room were also left-handed. I observed every werewolf in the pack when they were training in their wolf form... much to my luck, only a few wolves are left-handed in the whole pack. Again, thanks to my lucky stars that she is the only she-wolf that is left-handed, and her wolf paw exactly matched the pawprint," she explained and continued.

"I wanted to confirm with her if she is the one because it is hard for me to believe that lily is the person... but as soon as I asked her for clarification, instead of answering me or clearing my doubt, she attacked me, which in the end proved that she is the culprit" she looked softly at dad. I can’t help but feel his broken emotions. I went towards him and hugged him... {no matter what my age was. If dad is not okay, then I can never be fine}.

"You bitch" lily shouted suddenly and lunged towards Aadhya with her extended claws, which frightened me to the core... {shit, she is fast} ... I turned towards her, but before I even reacted, Shira was in front of Aadhya. She grabbed her hands which were half transformed into claws, and kicked Lily’s legs from her right foot, instantly making Lily fall to the floor. She then took her bun stick, removed its cap, revealing the silver blade underneath, and pierced Lily’s claw to the floor.

"Don’t you dare to touch my granddaughter" I am stunned and impressed by her at the same time. I went towards Lily but didn’t give control to the king... {I will rip her apart} ... but before I do or say something, Dad went towards her... {take him away from Aadhya}

"Why did you do that and for whom?" his face was hard, and at this very moment, I knew that he was alpha now... not dad, not caretaker, just an alpha. "Don’t try to lie because if a knife can go through your hand, then it can go through your heart as well" lily and Mia have always been dad’s favourites. Many times, both of them bullied us, but dad always supported them because they were his princesses but watching him talk to Lily like that is breaking my heart "speak," he shouted at her, and we all flinched. A few tears slipped from Lily’s eyes, but dad didn’t take his alpha aura back. "Ryan, send her in the dungeons to the highest level. I will take care of this matter myself" as soon as he said that, I could clearly see hurt and fear in Lily’s eyes.

"Nooo," she whispered, "you can’t send me there, uncle ben. It’s me, your princess, lily. They will torture me there. You can’t do this with me," she said to him, but no emotion crossed his face.

"I don’t like to repeat my questions. If you want freedom, then I want answers. I will send you back to your mate’s pack alive give me the answers; otherwise, you are more than welcome to live your remaining life in the dungeons" as soon as he said that, lily lost her shit.

"You can’t do this to me. My parents died to save your pack and your family. You owe me all this because if it was not for you, I would have been living with my family and not living the life of an orphan," she said and sobbed along "it’s not done... you can’t forget their sacrifice; you can’t torture their daughter. You owe them" never have I ever thought that Lily thinks of her situation like this. But for now, I am more scared for dad. He is not giving anything from his expressions, but I know he is not okay.

"You should be glad that your parents are not alive today, or they would have been very disappointed in you," Aadhya said out of the blue. She went towards dad and placed her hand on his shoulder "your parents died like warriors, and they died for saving their people and their pack, not the alpha family. The man whom you are blaming chose to save others when he could have easily saved his mate’s life. He is not accountable for acting like a guardian to any of you, but not only he became your guardian, but he also did an excellent job in it. He is the man who tried to give you a comfortable life full of love. What did you say?" she asked lily... "Orphan?"... she snickered, "Did you even know how the majority of people treat orphans?" Aadhya asked her pointedly "well, if you are not able to understand this man’s feelings towards all of you till now, then I can’t help but only feel sorry for you."

"Now, back to the point, according to werewolf laws, we can’t use our command on a wolf to reveal something that his human part is trying hard to hide from us because it will raise an unending conflict between that man’s two important halves. So, tell us the truth, or" she stopped and smirked, "I am not a werewolf, so no werewolf law applies to me, and I can command your wolf" as soon as she said this, lily looked downwards, and tears fell on the ground... {I am still unable to understand how she always knows what to say to get the desired answer.. She can be cunning when needed.. I don’t think she will face any issues with those elders}

"I didn’t do anything bad. I just came to check if she had any of my belongings with her which could make you all think that I am also an acquaintance of hers" she is crying hard now. "I couldn’t help going into Ryan’s room because I was missing him badly, and I was despondent the day I went to Shira’s room. I wanted to be with someone familiar, but no one was there. Shira’s scent is somewhat similar to Amara’s because they were twins, so I went there, but you caught me. I already knew that you have suspicions about me, so when you asked me, I panicked and attacked you" her face is tear-stained now, and she is hiccupping.

"How did you know Amara?" Shira asked her, and this is actually what I was wondering.

"She was my grandmother," she said and started sobbing harder.
