Chapter 67: Chapter 67 - Bending the nature

"When are you planning to do things normally?" I ran towards her and was engulfed in a hug. Usually, whenever I feel unsafe or unprotected, I love to hug someone taller than me because it always makes me feel safer... but despite being shorter than me, she is making me feel so warm and secure... {God, how could I have not distinguished between her and Amara?}

"Normal is a very outdated munchkin, and I will never be old enough not to follow the new trends," she said while sniffling, and I couldn’t help but smile while tears were still dripping from my eyes.

"You are not going to mend your ways, are you?" I teased her, and she let me go and looked at me from head to toe.

"Do you not know anything about me?" she asked me and narrowed her eyes. "Are you my munchkin, or that Amara tampered with everything around me?" She suddenly came towards me and grabbed my face by the jaw. When I tried to stop her, she shushed me. "Shh, I am checking" She checked all my skin around my ears, and when I rolled my eyes at her antics, she even smacked my head in between.

"Owww... you are hurting me, gramma", I complained, but her eyes were still narrowed.

"Tell me, how many languages do I know?" She asked me, and now I literally can’t believe that she suspects me.

"As if you have not learned any new things after leaving me with mom and dad" as soon as I said that, she hugged me again.

"That’s my granddaughter" ... {I knew it can’t be genetic because we are not blood-related, but I surely got all the acting skills from her} ... She finally let me go after another tight hug and looked at Ben and smirked at him "How are you UNCLE ben?" I couldn’t help but laugh loudly at it while Ben rolled his eyes.

"I am good, kid. How are you?" he said sarcastically, and both of them laughed, which confused me.

"What is this about?" I asked both of them while gramma took everything she could from the fridge and sat on the kitchen slab. So, I looked at Ben.

"Her father was my friend, so she teased me by naming me Uncle Ben, so I also gave her a nickname ’KID’" I can’t help but smile at this. He pointed his finger towards gramma. "You are not allowed to eat like a pig... I have already mind-linked Ansh, and he told me that you are not allowed to eat a lot" she just rolled her eyes at this and continued eating.

"Ben, you told me that you had shifted her to the safe house. Then what is she doing here, and when did she regain her consciousness?" I asked him in confusion, and he smirked.

"Do you think any place can be as safe as the alpha king’s place in this whole pack?" I can’t believe she has been staying in this house all along, and I didn’t even know about it. "We shifted her to Chandra’s practice room, and whenever Ansh used to come here, he checked on her..., and when he checked her a few hours ago, she was still unconscious. So, only she can explain when she got her consciousness back" we both looked at her and saw her eating like she had not eaten the food in years. I can’t help but feel guilty and sorry for her.

"What are these expressions?" she scolded me with a mouthful of food, and I instantly remembered what she used to tell me... ’Never feel sorry for anyone because no one wants to be in a sorry situation.’

"Sorry, gramma," I said cheekily, and she rolled her eyes.

"Did you get the person who came here?" she asked us, and this made both me and Ben shocked... {Now, did she know that someone had come into the house?} ... "No need to be shocked. Someone came into my room, my brain automatically started its defence mechanism, and I got my consciousness. When I came outside, I knew that you had come home and were already searching for the person. So, I thought that I should grab some deliciousness for my taste buds" she again took a huge bite and moaned, "You are still a good cook, uncle ben" she complimented Ben and acted as if nothing had happened. I looked at Ben and found him already mind-linking somebody. When his eyes became normal, he looked at me.

"I am securing the house from tonight. Can you hire someone else to take care of the business affairs with you? Money is not more important to me than to solve everything that is happening around me," I told him without wasting even a second.

"There is nothing to worry about..."

"There... is Ben... there is... I have already lost many things; I have already been through much... now I am not letting anyone hurt my family or me" he put his hands on both of my shoulders.

"I know why you are feeling so unsafe here, Aadhya... It is normal. Ryan went away within hours after accepting you. That’s why you are feeling like this, but everything will be sorted once he returns. Till then, please trust me, and if you have issues in trusting me, then trust Matt at least. Trust the bonds that you are getting blessed with. Mate bond, the bond with pack members, the bond of soon-to-become Luna queen... everything is just becoming overwhelming, that’s why you are becoming so unsure of everything" suddenly, I became furious at his words. I removed his hands from my shoulders and took deep breaths to calm my nerves... {I can’t lose shit on every tiny matter now}

"I don’t want any blessing or any bond, Ben. The only thing that is important to me is the safety of my loved ones, and no one is going to keep them safe for me. No matter how much you or Ryan will try to help me, you can’t leave your work to guard them 24*7, especially when you already have the werewolf world’s responsibility. I am not unsure of anything now; I know what I need to do, and I am going to do the exact thing" he didn’t say anything after that while gramma was frowning at me.

"You do know that whatever he said is true, don’t you?" she asked me. {Do I need to explain my point of view to her on this matter?.. and the main question is, will she be able to understand my perspective?}

"I can’t blame everything on some stupid bonds that I don’t even believe in. Yes, I know I can feel them, but I don’t respect these bonds because this is not something that is given to us with our prior approval. This is something that the moon goddess gave to us without even asking if we wanted this" I looked at Ben. "Do you seriously believe that anyone wanted to be dominated by any person just because he has alpha blood?... or do you think anyone would want to fall for some stranger and leave the one whom he loved for years?" When I asked him the last question, he opened his mouth to give some

explanation but then closed it... {I think he got the point}

"But you can’t change these things. No matter what you say or believe... you can’t change nature and can’t go against it," gramma shouted at me, and I couldn’t help but shout back.

"But you did, didn’t you? You saved me by going against nature. Didn’t you transfer the remaining life and energy of mom’s almost dead child to me because I have more chances of staying alive? Didn’t you lose your wolf as a punishment for doing this?" I asked her, and she looked at me with an open mouth while the food that she shoved in her mouth fell out a little.

"It doesn’t matter to me if we have the same blood or not. You are my grandmother, I have learned everything from you, so I will try to bend everything that will hurt my family members or me till I am alive" I went out of the kitchen and took a deep breath to calm my nerves.

"I don’t know how to react just now", I heard Ben’s voice behind me.

"Will I be considered mad if I just felt extremely proud of her right now?" I couldn’t help but smile at gramma’s words.

I was sitting on Ryan’s bed while I had already mailed my resignation to his mail.

"Put your clothes on. I am coming," gramma shouted and entered the room with a bang which surely startled me. She laughed hard at my shocked expressions and jumped on the bed beside me. "Did I disturb you, munchkin?" she teased me, and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at her.

"Can you please stop your wild thoughts about me? I seriously am not in the mood to listen to all these things," I told her and hugged her.

"What do you want to talk about?" she asked me and started caressing my hair.

"Don’t you want to know how I knew the story behind losing your wolf?" I asked her and waited for her response.

"Let me guess... nightmares" when she said that, I jerked and sat on the bed while she kept lying on the bed calmly "don’t look at me like that. I have been through enough trauma to suffer these nightmares for more than half of my life now" this makes sense. I again went towards her and hugged her.

"These nightmares have been making me suffer for a very long time now... I always thought that these were just nightmares, nothing else, but" I stopped and took a deep breath "recently few things happened that changed my theory about nightmares. I can connect those with my real life now. Few are not even my memories. I had seen mommy and daddy’s death; I could feel the pain they would have felt at that time. Truth be told, I have felt so much pain for the people whom I don’t even know. In one dream, I was not able to see, but I heard yours’s and mom’s voices discussing how to save me. In one dream, I heard mom shrieks of pain... I think that would be the day when she had her miscarriage. I am fed up with all these gramma... things are getting worse day by day. I also saw the day when Ryan’s mom died" I looked at her, and she was calmly lying there while her eyes were closed, and she had a calm smile on her face.

"I am now accustomed to the nightmares, and I know that I can’t ignore them. So, I have stopped feeling frustrated and sad about them," she said after a while.

"I wish I could be strong like you" she is still caressing my hair.

"And I wish you would never have to be strong like me" she hugged me tighter, and I couldn’t help but feel safe for the first time after Ryan went away.

"Gramma", she hummed in response. "Do you think we will make things hard for the crescent moon pack? What if those rogues and vampires followed us here as they came in a blue moon pack?" I asked her, and she took a deep breath.

"They will surely come behind us here but let me inform you already. They were not behind you when they attacked ’the blue moon pack’" ... {It seems like I still don’t know many things}
