Chapter 49: Chapter 49 - Vision : Part II

I ran behind him, and we reached the place where the hostel was located, but right now, there was a house in its place, and many people were there. Chandra, Ben, and another wolf {I think he is reed} ... are fighting with rogues and many dead bodies are on the ground... {most of them are pack’s warriors} ... I searched for Ryan frantically, everyone was killing someone or getting killed, and I don’t want him to get hurt.

"Ryan... for God’s sake. Where are you?" I shouted in frustration but was unable to spot him anywhere... {Why is this pain not subsiding?} ... I was looking for him when I heard a child’s painful shriek. I ran in the direction from where the sound came... {God, please, don’t let anyone hurt him}.

The scene I saw shook me to the core when I reached there. A little kid, who I am guessing is the same age as Ryan, was on the ground, and his arm was heavily bleeding. What shocked me more was little Ryan continuously stabbing a rogue who is surely dead now. I have seen Ryan killing people before also... hell, I have seen him covered in blood and flesh from head to toe, but this scene of little Ryan broke my heart. His body is covered in the blood and flesh of that rogue. I don’t even understand from where he got the power even to pull out that knife again and again.

"Ryan," The wounded child called him, and this made Ryan leave that rogue and run to him.

"Jack", he ran towards him but didn’t let off that knife, "Are you alright?" Now I can see fear all over Ryan’s face... {it is not the fear of rogues, it is the fear of losing someone} ... He looked around, and for once, I thought that he would shout for Ben or Chandra for help, but when he looked that they were busy fighting rogues, he himself helped jack. "Come on, we need to go to pack house", he said to him but as soon he touched jack’s shoulder, he shouted in pain... {seems like his shoulder is dislocated} ... "Sorry, jack", Ryan is looking more tensed now... {Why the fuck am I here if I can’t do anything?}

"Go back, Ryan. They will kill you," Jack said while crying. "They have already killed hazel (Jack’s older sister)", he is hiccupping now "run away from here."

"I will take you with me" Ryan also started sobbing now. "I will not leave you alone, jack" He went towards his other hand and helped him in getting up. They are about to go away when everything stops suddenly. All the chaos, grunts, shrieks, growls, sobs, everything stopped in a second.

"No.." reed has already changed in his human form. A rogue is laughing like a maniac while his hand is clenched around a lady’s throat... {pregnant lady} ... "No, not her", he was only able to whisper.

"Leave her" suddenly, all the pack members bared their necks towards Chandra, but her command didn’t affect the rogues.

The rogue again laughed, "did our little Luna forget that you can’t control rogues?" He mimicked her.

"Leave her. You can’t get anything by hurting her" Ben also transformed into his human form.

"Oh, but who told you that I need anything?" Reed jumped on him and, within seconds, tore that rogue’s throat while Jenny was about to fall to the ground on her stomach, but Chandra caught her in between. While Ben and a few other people continue to cover Chandra and jenny.

"Jenny", Chandra shook jenny, "Open your eyes", she patted her face... {is she unconscious?} Jenny opened her eyes, and Chandra shouted for reed.

"Thank god Jen" reed came running towards Chandra and jenny. "Chandra, is she alright?" but as soon as he saw Jenny, his face became white as a sheet, and he lost his balance and fell to the ground. I didn’t understand what was happening, so I went closer to have a good look, but as soon I reached there, everything became blank.

Jenny is lying there with her hand on her swollen belly, tears are continuously flowing from her eyes, and her neck is broken... {wh...} ... She is breathing her last breaths. Reed crawled towards her and tried to give her CPR. I can’t help feeling hopeless, and it’s not because I can’t help her. It’s because nobody can help her. The only way to save her is to give her proper medical assistance within two or three minutes. She is unable to breathe because of her broken neck, and no matter how long reed can give her CPR, there is no way that he will be able to save her.

"Please stay with me, Jen.. please," he said between and continued giving her CPR. Few rogues attacked him, but Chandra came in between and attacked them. I couldn’t help but cry continuously... {I don’t want to witness this...Please end this} ... after a few minutes, two growls reverberated in the crescent moon pack... growl filled with pain, anger, helplessness, and vengeance, which made my knees buckle, and I fell to the ground.

Out of nowhere, Ryan came running down towards Jenny and placed his hand on her belly. His eyes are now bright green, and a scared look is plastered on his face "no, no, no" he kept murmuring under his breath and kept placing his hand in different places on Jenny’s belly... "nooooo ’’ he shouted, and suddenly his canines started elongating on their own, tearing his gums. Chandra came running towards him, and irrespective of his situation, her wolf, cocooned himself around Ryan’s tiny body.

For a few minutes, I was not able to understand anything. I can only see Reed sitting along with Jenny’s lifeless body, Chandra covering Ryan while others are stopping rogues from going near them.

"Reed, we need your help", I heard Ben’s voice in my mind... {how can I hear what they are mind linking?} ...

"Chandra, reed", he mind-linked both of them. While reed is still conscious in the unconscious stage, Chandra does reply to him.

"Ben, there is something wrong with Ryan. He is in mid-shift; Jenny’s kid was his mate."

"How did he know this? A seven-year-old can’t know who his mate is?" Ben said to her while fighting.

"This is not the time to ask how or why, Ben. We can’t let him change into his wolf, he will die, and his body can’t take it" Before she even completed mind-linking, a wolf jumped on her and dug his canines into her coat. She howled in pain but didn’t let Ryan out. She snarled at him, but he again attacked her, this time his attack was extremely furious... {don’t hurt her please, don’t?} I ran and stood between Chandra and that rogue. I closed my eyes but eagerly waited for the pain... {I don’t want him to attack her, and I am ready to save her at any cost} ...

Suddenly I heard many howls, and no matter how much I prayed. I already know that he is successful in hurting her. I turned toward her, and the scene made my heart drop. Her leg is in his mouth and is only connected to her body with a few nerves. He shook his head violently and tore it apart within seconds. The pain inside me is building at such a great pace that I cannot even feel my body. I can see Ben trying desperately to come toward her, but she is heavily surrounded by rogues who are stopping everyone from reaching her. The rogue jerked his head, threw her leg to the side, and howled in joy... {he was going to kill her} ... He jumped on her, but before he could hurt her more, Reed came and pierced the rogue’s heart from his body.

His body fell to the ground like a puppet, and Reed ran towards Chandra. "You alright?" he asked her, but I knew that he could clearly see the pain written all over her face.

"Reed, Ryan... we need to do something", her voice is barely audible.

"You can’t save him when you are not able to save yourself", he shouted at her and tried his best to stop rogues from coming near Chandra but losing Jenny clearly had a huge impact on him. I knew he was trying to pull himself, but I couldn’t blame him when I knew it was impossible.

"Chandra" Ben finally came running towards her, and his wolf licked Chandra’s wound, which was not that heavily bleeding, thanks to the werewolf genes. I know he is hurting badly, but he is performing his alpha duties excellently... {he knows about his responsibility very well}.

His focus was on Ryan when a rogue came and bit a large chunk of flesh from his stomach. I heard many growls simultaneously, but a specific growl caught my attention. Before he could do more damage, a warrior came and tackled the rogue. I can see Ryan clearly as Chandra failed miserably in trying to cover him. His canines are still elongated, and his eyes are shining green, but nothing has changed much... {I think that is because of Chandra’s touch} ...

"Jack", Ryan whispered, but this caught Ben’s attention. Despite bleeding heavily, he raised his snout and breathed deeply. He got up as fast as he could with the wound and ran towards a bloodied Jack, who was lying half unconscious while a rogue’s canines were dug into his thighs. Ben shifted in his human form while running and took a knife from the ground. As soon as he was near enough, he sliced the rogue’s throat and carefully took Jack with him.

"Chandra", he howled, and I shifted my focus towards Chandra in panic. Chandra is in her human form while her one leg is missing. Five rogues are circling her while snarling and growling, and I can clearly see that they knew that killing her would be the last straw of destroying another pack. I looked for Ryan and found him lying a few meters away from her. His nails are transformed into claws, and his eyes are fixed on Chandra.

Though Chandra knew this was her end, her complete focus was only on Ryan, and a beautiful smile was adorning her face while her eyes were teary. "I love you, Mowgli, and I am proud of you," she whispered, and I closed my eyes.

I heard many growls together, but I didn’t fight the pain this time. I knew that I had to embrace it. "No, Ryan", when I heard Ben’s shout and opened my eyes in panic. Ryan is standing near Chandra’s now half-torn body and growling at the wolves near him. I can feel his pain and anger, but the insufferable anguish is hitting me the most. A wolf jumped on him, but within seconds Ryan transformed his hands into claws and tore his heart out of his body. Everyone was shocked by this, but I knew that no one could stop him now. His limbs started elongating, his mouth turned into a snout, and within seconds a similar-looking wolf as Chandra was standing in Ryan’s place... {how can his wolf be the size of an adult wolf? I knew that he was not as huge as I had seen him but still...}. I can see the slight glow of green coming from his body, but those tribal designs and crown are missing. He raised his snout in the air and howled loudly. I didn’t know what it was, but after that, I heard a lot of howls coming near us.
