Chapter 42: Chapter 42 - Weird theories

I think I heard it wrong. I looked at Ryan, who was already looking at me.

"Did I hear that wrong?" I badly wanted him to say yes, but his expressions are clearly expressing what I heard was true. I rubbed my temples to release some tension.

"I think we should let her rest for now, Ryan," the doctor said to Ryan, who looked concerned about me... {Injected silver...}

"No, you need to check her first. She again felt pain in her heart a while ago," Ryan told the doctor, but I can still face his gaze on me. I looked at the doctor, whose expressions were also tense now.

"I am alright," I told them. Both of them opened their mouths to argue, but I cut them off before they tried to convince me. "I really am, or I would not have been sitting here," none of them said anything about this. "I wanted to know everything. How did the silver affect my body? I am not feeling unwell at all... but why? How? ’’ ... {It all is so confusing.}

"You are not feeling unwell because silver doesn’t have any effect on your body. I would have believed that you are a hybrid of werewolf and human, but silver didn’t have any effect on you, not even a little" the doctor’s words confused me more than before.

"Then where did that silver go? There has to be something if it is being injected into my body." The situation is becoming more uneasy.

"It came out of your body through urine and faeces, nothing much... but I am more concerned about your heart attack right now. If silver doesn’t affect your body, then why did you have a heart attack?"

"I think I already know about this, but first, I wanted to ask you something," the doctor nodded at this. "Do you have any guesses about what I am?"

"No, but if you can tell me about your family history, then maybe we can find something... like if someone..." Before he continued, I cut him off.

"I don’t know about my blood relatives", he didn’t say anything after this, "but the family that adopted me is a family of hybrids. My great-grandmother was a werewolf, and my great-grandfather was a wizard. Then my grandmother and mom were hybrid witches and wizards. They found me when I was on the verge of death. My grandmother sacrificed her wolf to save me. Can it be the reason that I have werewolf senses?" I asked both of them, but none of them said anything on this matter.

"I don’t think so. If you have werewolf senses, then at least one of your birth parents is a werewolf, but in this case, silver would have affected you" now, the doctor is extremely confused.

"Are there any other species that have the same senses as werewolves but are silver resistant?" Ryan asked him while Dr. Singh was still thinking very deeply.

"I don’t think so", he is still in deep thought, "but I think I can find something at the council," he said in a weird suggestive tone.

"Do you want someone to help you?" Ryan asked me, and I was still trying to understand what they were talking about.

"I needed Ben to help me out with this all."

"You can’t do any work without him, can you?" Ryan said in a sarcastic tone.

"Oh, I just saved your mate without his help, pup" as soon as the doctor said that, Ryan narrowed his eyes at him. "Don’t look at me like that. You acted as if someone was ripping your soul from your body. It’s not my mistake that I understood that you two are mates."

"Fine, but don’t tell anyone about this right now. I talked to him yesterday. He was still in the blue moon pack," Ryan explained... {wait, did he say blue moon pack??}

"Who’s Ben? And I didn’t know you sent someone to the blue moon pack. Is it because of the attack? Did you find something?" I asked many questions at a time, and like always, he didn’t get annoyed with this.

"You didn’t tell her anything", Dr. Singh was looking surprised "now that’s not right. If Chandra had been alive now, she would have been very mad at you," he said to Ryan in fake anger, and then he shifted his focus on me.

"I am Anshuman, only brother of Ryan’s mother Chandra and best friend of Benjamin, Ryan’s father".. {he should have told me this... stupid ryan}... "Ryan told us about the attack on the blue moon pack, and Ben immediately went to investigate that matter as all the other ranking wolfs are already busy in other matters" he narrowed his eyes at Ryan. "When are you going to inform us about your mate? After your kids were born" the last statement made me extremely uncomfortable, and by Ryan’s expressions, I knew that he was also not expecting this... {it seemed like I was not the only one who have relatives with a wild imagination.}

"Try some filters next time, uncle", he mumbled in distaste, and before his uncle said anything, he continued, "We both wanted to be sure about everything before accepting our mate bond."

"What you wanted to be sure about? The Moon goddess herself blessed both of you with this pure and sacred mate bond. Are you questioning her?" the doctor said in disbelief.

"Yes", both of them looked at me as if I were an alien "Don’t be shocked, you heard it right."

"But... I thought..." Ryan was trying to say something.

"You thought right, Ryan but the responsibility and risk that comes with being a Luna queen is not my issue when I know that you and king are going to be with me in every situation. My issue is that I don’t want to like you because of the mate pull and mate bond. I don’t want to like you only because the moon goddess has chosen you for me, and this is the same for you too. You didn’t have to like me only because the moon goddess paired us". None of them said anything after that. "I hope that you will understand" Ryan nodded, but I already knew he was not happy with this.

None of us said anything after that. The doctor cleared his throat, and we both shifted our focus toward him. "You said that you knew why you got a heart attack," he asked me, and I nodded.

"I felt pain after watching Ryan in his pure alpha king form. I don’t think a human heart or body can survive the power that his body radiated at that time. Even the other werewolves were not able to look him in his eyes while my eyes were glued to him. I was unable to remove my gaze from him..." the doctor nodded, and Ryan looked more troubled.

"This makes sense. It was the first time he showed his pure form to a human or a hybrid, but what about that pain that Ryan was talking about earlier" the doctor asked me.

"King was in control when Ryan touched me before, and both of us felt pain in our hearts. My theory is that I felt pain because my body remembered his power, but I can’t point to the reason for his pain." I said to them.

"That’s because the king felt the rejection of his mate’s body," the doctor explained, and I looked at Ryan. "I would have never believed your theories, but I don’t have any other reasons to believe. I have already done the examinations and found nothing wrong with your body."

"Pack your bags, uncle. Dad will be back in two or three days. I want you to find each and every detail that you can find about her and on hybrids." Ryan stood from his place. "Till then, inform your confidants at the council to search about her and make sure that no one knows about us being mates. Aadhya will start her training today."

"Hey... but I just woke up. At least give me a day to prepare myself," I tried to argue, but he was in an uptight mood right now.

"Uncle already gave you a clean chit. You are fit, and you will start your training today. Be there at 4:30 am" before I could say anything, he stormed out of the room, and his uncle chuckled.

"After giving heart attack by his looks, he is surely going to give me a brain haemorrhage with his stupid actions", the doctor chuckled, and I also stood from my place "it’s nice to meet you, doctor, but can you tell me where to get the bills," I asked him.

"You can ask your grandmother about that. She has been wandering all over the hospital for days now... but before paying the bills. I suggest you talk to Ryan about this matter. I don’t want him to argue with me on why I let you pay the bills" I rolled my eyes at this playfully, but I clearly know that the possibility of him arguing about paying bills is almost fifty to sixty percent.

When I went back to the room, I found that Gramma was sleeping soundly, and the window of my room was still open. I went towards the window and was about to close it when I found a pair of golden eyes looking directly at me from the woods... {as the eyes are not red, so I am sure that it is not a rogue but then who is here... Can it be some warrior patrolling the borders?}

"Who’s there?" As soon as I said this, the wolf turned and started walking in a different direction... "Wait", I shouted, but it didn’t stop.

"Aadhya..." I looked at Gramma, who was awake now and was looking at me through happy tears "oh sweetheart, you woke up" she came towards me and engulfed me in a tight hug.

"Yes, and I am fine, gramma" I removed her hands from me and again looked in the direction in which the wolf was walking away. I can still see the shadow. "I am coming in a bit", and with this, I sprinted into the woods after that fading shadow.
