Chapter 36: Chapter 36 - Run Addy Run

"How in this hell am I going to face him now?" I asked no one and groaned in irritation... {I think it’s time to pull up my big girl panties} ... I rolled my eyes at my conscience, but I knew that no matter what, I had to face the situation. I was about to get up from my safe place... {yeah, this toilet seat is undoubtedly the safest place in this whole world} ... when I heard someone entering the washroom. I don’t know why but I felt something uneasy, so I raised my legs and became attentive. Whoever came inside walked here and there for a few seconds, then entered the stall next to me.

"Hello, the man just went towards the elevators. No, he is not going into the basement. I heard him talking to his driver to pick him up from the front of the building. Yes, I have used that liquid that you asked me to use" I heard a female’s voice, and I instantly knew that she was talking about Mr. Wilson. After it, she disconnected the call, and from the sound, I knew that she had deleted the contact details and flushed the sim card. I tried to sniff her scent but didn’t get any. I waited for her to exit the bathroom, and as soon as she left, I knew I needed to be quick.

I ran out of the bathroom and put the files on the nearest desk. I removed the heels and threw them aside... {fuck these heels} ... I looked around and found everyone looking at me like I had grown two heads. I pointed towards a werewolf in particular "no one is allowed to exit this floor. Gather everyone together; I want everyone present on this floor when I will be back," I shouted and ran towards the elevators, but as I couldn’t wait for the elevators, I ran towards the staircase and ran like a mad woman while skipping one or two stairs at a time.

I saw Mr. Wilson through the glass wall when I reached the ground floor. He was standing there while talking with someone on his phone. I ran outside but stopped suddenly as nothing was looking fishy here. I looked around and still didn’t find anything abnormal, but I could still feel that nagging feeling that something bad was going to happen. So, instead of pulling him inside with me as I had thought earlier, I went towards him and tried to calm my breath. I was about to reach him when I saw a black van coming towards him. I don’t know why I did that, but I ran towards him and shouted to the men who were standing there to cover him. As soon as I reached him, the van slowed down, its windows rolled down, and the people inside pointed their guns toward Mr. Wilson. I practically dived on him, and both of us fell to the ground while I heard several gunshots. I covered his body with mine and waited for some painful impact, but soon everything became silent and finally, I forced myself to look around.

The black van is nowhere to be seen, while two of the werewolves are lying on the ground while groaning and grunting in pain, and I can see blood oozing from their bodies.

"Boys, take them inside ’’ As soon as I heard Ryan’s voice, I took a deep breath... {everything is going to be fine now. Ryan is here} ... He came towards us, and I stood up. I looked at Mr. Wilson. He has a small cut on his forehead, and besides that, he looks completely fine. I was about to ask him whether he was fine or not when Ryan took my hand in his and harshly pulled me inside the building.

"Wait, he is in danger.’’ Before I even completed my sentence, Ryan pushed me into the elevators and pressed button ten. As soon as the doors closed, he looked at me like he was going to kill me. {King is not in control as his eyes are still black, or maybe pitch black. After that coffee stunt, I gave him a reason to be extremely mad at me. At least he has a spare shirt to change into} ... I agreed with my conscience when I noticed that his sexiness was hidden behind a white buttoned shirt. But still, him being in control means that the King will not come to rescue me, and that’s not good because I know that King can never harm me, but right now, I can’t say the same thing about Ryan. I took a few steps backwards until my back hit the wall. He took threatening steps toward me and punched both of his fists on the wall just beside my face. Only I knew how I stopped myself from flinching on this... {there is no need to show someone that you are scared}. I can’t forget this mantra which I learned after years of bullying.

"What the hell were you thinking, Aadhya?" he asked in a calm tone, but his eyes were clearly showing that he was trying hard to control himself. When he didn’t get any reply from me, he leaned down so that our faces were inches away from each other. I gulped audibly and was about to turn my head in another direction, but he grabbed my chin and made me look into his eyes... {what was he doing?} ... I don’t know for how much time we were just looking at each other, but I could see the change of emotions in his eyes.

Finally, he took a deep breath, removed both hands from either side of me, and ruffled his hair in irritation. I also released a breath which I was holding and looked downwards. "I am sorry, Ryan", I apologised and continued, "I fucked up everything. I should not have worn those heels in the first place, and then I lost my balance, and I didn’t know from where that coffee came and...." suddenly he took hold of my head and pushed my face into his chest, and I froze.

"No need to stress about anything. I am not mad at you," he said softly, but I was unable to understand anything because of the tingles that I was feeling from his touch. Whatever he did is nothing close to even hugging because he is just standing there like a rigid statue, and I am more than surprised and scared to encircle my hands around his torso. We stood like that for a few minutes, and all those minutes, I tried my best to calm my heartbeats and brain cells... {but failed miserably}

Finally, he took a deep breath, removed his hand from the back of my head, and I instantly took a step backwards. He pushed the button, and finally, the elevators moved upwards. As soon as the doors opened, he grabbed my hand and started walking. This floor is far from looking like an office floor. As soon as we walked a little, I saw that there was nothing but a white wall in front. Two desks are placed, one on the left and another on the right side of us, and four girls are sitting there, two on each, and are working furiously... {All four are wolves}. Alpha walked towards the door that was on the right, and all four girls stood up and bowed to him which he replied with a curt nod.

As soon as he opened the door, the smell of different medicines and chemicals invaded my senses, and I stopped dead in my tracks. "What happened?" he stopped and looked at me... {Did I tell you guys that from the last few days, my nightmares are becoming extremely painful, and as a result, just the smell of medicines and those chemicals are enough for me to freak out.}

"I can wait for you here. You can take care of whatever business you had inside," I told him and slowly removed his hand from mine. He looked at me like I was a mad woman, and I took a few more steps backwards.

"Don’t tell me that you don’t know?" he asked me, and I got confused because I seriously didn’t know what he was referring to.

"What?" I asked innocently, and he rubbed his temples.

"How about you look at your right arm?" As soon as I did that, I finally understood why in this hell I was standing in front of this hellish-smelling hell. The right sleeve of my white blouse is dripping in my blood. Well, I think I am going mad, I didn’t even feel a little pain when I had not seen the blood, but now when I knew that I was bleeding, I started to feel a little pain.

"I think I have given you the reason... Now come with me." I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Ryan’s words... {I am not going inside for sure} ... I took a step backwards and looked around. "Don’t you dare, Aadhya" I looked at Ryan as he warned me.

"But I am fine", I tried to convince him while looking everywhere for an escape.

"Now you are making me mad," he said, and as soon as he took a step towards me, I turned towards the single door that was on the left side and sprinted. I heard his annoyed growl, but I opened the door and ran inside. I didn’t have time to look around as I could hear his growl and heavy footsteps behind me, so I just kept shouting for help and kept running in random directions.... {oh, come on, people, if you can’t help me, at least don’t look at me like I am some mad woman.}

I was successful in running away from him until that stupid wall came and blocked my way. I turned in the opposite direction in panic and found Ryan standing there and glaring at me. Right now, I am standing in a corridor with two doors on either side of me... {right or left??} ...Where I am panting like a dog from all the running, he is just standing there calmly, but his expressions are deadly.

"That’s enough, Aadhya. Now come with me like a good girl, or you will not like the consequences." I know that he is deadly serious about everything he is saying. I also know that I have already caused enough scenes, but I can’t give up without trying till my last breath... {right or left?} ... "Don’t force me to force you into doing this", he said, and a few people came running behind him and stopped there... {right or left?.}

"But I am fine. I know that you are going to fire me anyways, so I will take care of my wound by myself at home", I tried to make him understand. He took a deep breath and pinched the bridge of his nose... {right or left?}

"I told you not to test my limit," he said, and suddenly an evil smirk came on his face. I shrieked in horror as he sprinted towards me. I instantly opened the door, which was on my right and entered the room, but as soon as I entered the room, I couldn’t help but freeze on the exact spot.

{Attention girls, if you ever wanted to see heaven on earth, then you should come to the exact place where I am standing... I was born and brought up in the werewolf world, but still, this world keeps amusing me from time to time.}

I think right now I am standing in the men’s locker room as I can see many lockers along with the walls, but the most ’eye catching’, ’heartbeat escalating’ and ’brain cells dying’ thing is the semi-naked bodies of so many gorgeous male wolfs... {Why does the moon goddess have to make werewolves so handsome and sculpted? Maybe so that I can see all this beauty} ... They all are now looking at me. Some are clutching their towels that are tied around their hips, some are trying to wear their previously discarded shirts, while some are just not concerned about hiding their bodies and are amused by my sudden appearance.

"Who knew that knights have a complete package of hotness stuffed on the tenth floor?" I wondered, and when I heard a few chuckles, I finally understood that I had said it out loud, and as all of these semi-naked, beautifully handsome men with abs are werewolves... they all have heard it.

Suddenly I felt tingles on my back, and a huge hand covered my eyes... {heyyy, I am enjoying the view}. As soon as I got that Ryan got his hold on me, I snapped myself from ’not-so-innocent’ thoughts of mine and swiftly ran away towards the naked guys. Ryan growled, and I ran, pushing all those beautiful sculptures... {their bodies are tough and muscled}

"No one will touch her", I heard Ryan’s voice, and I internally thanked him; with this, he made my run a little easier. I smiled, but suddenly I felt someone’s hand snaked around my waist, and I was thrown upside down on someone’s shoulder. I shrieked and cursed when I felt similar tingles throughout my body.

"Noooo... ry." I stopped myself and continued, "alpha, noo... please let me go. I am not going anywhere near that medical wing," I shouted as he started walking towards the door, but he ignored me. I thrashed his back, but he did not even flinch. I looked around, and everyone was looking at Ryan and me with amused expressions.

"Somebody help" I shouted, but no one came to my rescue, and one of them even laughed at this... {This all is making me insanely mad now. Why can’t they understand that I don’t want to go into that hell.} ... "Stop staring at me and stop him from taking me, you assholes" I don’t know what came into me when I shouted this, but I know for sure that I felt immense energy within me. As soon as I said this, I heard a lot of shuffling voices, and Ryan stopped.

"What the hell?" he cursed loudly, and I tried to peek, but he was too broad for this. I grabbed his left shoulder from my hand and raised myself to his left side so that if someone saw us from the front, then he would be able to see my butt on his right shoulder while my head on his left shoulder.... {whoever would look at us right now I don’t think he will be able to stop himself from laughing at us.}

Finally, as I saw the scene in front, I couldn’t help but gasp in surprise. All the hot guys that were behind are now standing between the door and Ryan... {Are they seriously standing against their alpha for helping a girl in need?} ... this thought made me like them all more and more.
