Chapter 23: Chapter 23 - How old am I?

They started licking me, and I laughed hard. After a few minutes, when all three of us were composed, I found myself lying on Milo while Lia’s head was on my lap. "I missed you guys," I said while ruffling Lia’s hair, and Milo licked my face. I was feeling content, but somebody thought that this was the perfect moment to break our bonding time and cleared his throat. I looked around and found Alpha, Mia, Ellon, and Diego looking at us. I took a deep breath and threw my head back on Milo’s fur "it seems like we have to behave, guys," I said, slowly the three of us stood in our places with our heads bent low.

"Lia, milo, give your charge to your humans." As soon as Alpha said this, I looked at him, and my eyes met with the light green eyes of his wolf; he was looking pissed off. I instantly turned my gaze downwards, and lia and Milo went towards the woods. "What were you thinking, Aadhya?"

"I don’t have to think before meeting my friends," I said to him in irritation.

"They are not Layla and Matt. They were Lia and Milo," he growled, and I gave him a sweet smile... {everyone can see that sherlock}

"It’s not my mistake that Lia and Milo have beaten Layla and matt and met me before them. Human form or wolf form, it doesn’t matter," I said to him and looked at Dee, who had a horrified expression on his face. "What happened, dee?" I asked him in worry, and he came towards me and took hold of my hand.

"I thought they were going to attack you" I can understand his worry. He is still a pup and has not seen clear interaction between humans and wolves.

"They are my friends. They can never even think of attacking me," I said to him, and he nodded. Then I looked at Ellon and Mia, who were smiling at me. "How have you royals been?" I asked them, and Mia smirked.

"Just like the royals have always been, awesome as always," she said and hugged me. "You know, I still felt a ping of jealousy when milo was getting so lovey-dovey with you" as soon as she said this, I laughed.

"I would be lying if I said that I did not already know this," I said to her, and she shook her head.

"Even I was also feeling jealous, Lia always threw tantrums on my wolf, and here she is all behaving like a lovesick puppy all over you," Ellon said, making Mia and me laugh harder.

"Well, hello to you to Ellon, but if I have not been straight, then there is no way I would have let you take her away from me" I shook his hand, and finally, I looked at Alpha, and I think I am guessing the right reason behind his sudden spoiled mood... {he should have also been feeling jealous... well... Is it wrong for me to feel happy that he is getting jealous?}

"Ellon, Aunt Amara is in the car. I have sprayed wolf’s bane on her, so you have to help the warriors take her to dungeons, put her in level three, and then meet us in my office." Alpha said to Ellon, and by Ellon’s expressions, I knew that he was confused about all this, but still, without asking a single question, he went towards the car. Layla and Matt came toward us, now fully dressed and slightly embarrassed. As soon as they came near me, I hugged both of them, and they also hugged me back.

"I told you; Lia loves you more than she loves me," Layla mumbled and tightened her arms around me.

"I missed you, chubby," Matt said, tightening his hold on us.

"Well, I am not in the mood to measure the love of all four of you towards me right now, but I don’t want both of you to crush me to death, you bitches" they chuckled, and I knew what they were planning, they crushed me harder until I screamed, and they finally let me go. "Stop using your werewolf strength against me," I told them and rubbed my arms dramatically... {cruel...}

"What have you done to yourself, chubby?" Matt asked, looking at me closely. He took my hands in his and studied my right hand, which is fully covered in tattoos, and then my left wrist, which is covered in tattoos. "Is there more?" he asked, and I nodded, and he shook his head in disapproval. "If you were planning to get a tattoo every time you get a scar on your body, then I would suggest you not live in werewolf society," he said pointedly, and I opened my mouth to counter, but I couldn’t when he is telling the truth "And these piercings, these are only for looks right. It has nothing to do with something, right?" he asked me, and I smiled. In these last three months, I had no one who would have understood me as these two stupid do.

"I got these to keep people far from me... and I actually looked cool with that silver jewelry... but then I met dee, and I have to remove all that silver from my body," I explained, and matt shook his head in disappointment.

"Stop interrogating her, matt. She just came," Layla told matt and then looked at my smiling face. "I am just not questioning you because you look good with these piercings and tattoos, but still, there is no need to be that happy bitch. You have to explain everything later."

"Can I get the honor to have a meeting with all of you? We have serious issues to deal with" I heard Alpha’s voice and rolled my eyes, but Matt and Layla immediately let my hands go and stood stiff "good, now come to my office," he told them, and all three of them except Diego and me nodded. Alpha extended his hand toward Diego. "Come champ, we have a meeting" Diego instantly smiled at him and took hold of his hand... {When did they become friends?} ... "I don’t think I have to tell you separately, Aadhya," he said, and I again rolled my eyes and followed the trail of others.

He opened the door, went inside his house, and we followed him. As soon as I entered the house, I was impressed. I was standing in a huge hall which was neat and well decorated, but none of them gave me more time to observe things closely as they went towards a room to the right, so I followed them to the room.

This room is his office or maybe a library. Two of the walls that are on my left and right are not the walls but the bookshelves and are almost entirely stuffed with a lot of books. At the end of the room, a huge table was placed, piled with files, papers, and a few books, and the wall on the far end had a huge circular window on it. There are many chairs and sofas placed in the room. Alpha walked towards the table’s head chair, sat there, and gestured for Dee to take a seat near him. I was about to sit on the seat farthest from him, but he interrupted.

"You have to sit here, Aadhya, just in front of me," he commanded, and I internally groaned... {whyyyyy}

"Sure, alpha," I said through gritted teeth and took the seat. Ellon came after a minute and took a seat.

"First of all, let us start with the new members that will join our pack. Diego is the son of the alpha pair of the full moon pack. Ellon and Layla, you have to make all the arrangements for him at training school" as soon as he said that, both of them nodded, and then he looked at matt and Mia. "Mia and matt, make sure the pup is trained hard. He is new to all this, so make his schedule according to it," he said and looked at Dee.’’ There is no need to get scared about anything. When you go to the new school, you will find many children like you. No one can behave badly with anyone there, but still, if you will face any problem, then remember that you can tell me everything," he told them softly, and I tried to stop myself from smiling. "don’t get scared, your Addy is not going anywhere, she is also staying in this pack, and you are allowed to meet her every weekend" he added, and this instantly made him smile widely at Alpha. This seriously warmed my heart.

"Thank you, alpha," he said to him in full sincerity, and Alpha smiled at him and then looked at the others.

"So, the other member that is going to join is Aadhya brown, and from her previous encounter with you, I think you all knew her," he said to everyone pointedly.

"You do remember what Amara said, alpha, don’t you?" I cut him between and looked at him seriously "by doing this, you are putting the life of every pack member at stake. I am not sure if it will be safe for Dee to stay near or have contact with me," I told him my doubts.

"Do you think I will hear all this from the girl who has jumped in front of a whole bunch of vampires and werewolves to fight, knowing very well that she is just a human, or from the girl who was ready to fight with a witch and three vampires who are laced with guns?" he said cockily, and I wanted to slap that cockiness off from his face.

"I don’t give a damn about what you think, alpha, call me crazy, call me weirdo" on this name, both matt and Layla moved in their chairs uneasily, "but I am not giving you the right to choose for me," I told him off and he rolled his eyes.

"Fine, let us first talk about the problem. After that, we will talk about whether you will join our pack or not" I slowly nodded, and he looked at the others "so guys, we have a problem at hand. I learned a few things that were disturbing and needed our attention. Let’s start with Aunt Amara. We already knew that she was a hybrid of witch and wolf, so the thing is, she was not the single hybrid that we knew. She had a twin sister named Shira. Shira was not only hybrid but also dealt with other species. She had a daughter named rose... rose brown," he said, and Layla gasped, "and Aadhya is the daughter of rose."

"Aadhya is a hybrid" Matt’s statement sounded more like a question.

"We don’t know about it until now, but we must focus on Shira first. Aunt Amara said that Shira has had some issues with vampires, and that’s why they were hunting Aadhya to get a hold of Shira."

"So that was the reason blue moon was attacked two times within three months by vampires," Layla concluded.

"We don’t know yet, but yes, that’s something we have concluded from Aunt Amara’s story. She tried to attack Aadhya, and vampires were at her home to do this," he said and looked at Ellon "find Shira, Ellon. There are many questions that she has to answer. I don’t think Aunt Amara will help us much in this case. I am releasing you and Layla from all the pack duties. Just focus on finding Shira," he said in determination, and Ellon nodded "that’s it for now. You all can go and start your work. Layla, I think you should take Diego with you. I have to have a little meeting with Aadhya; after that, both of you can take Diego to training school" as soon he said this, Dee looked at me, and I nodded, so he hesitantly walked towards Layla, and they all exited the room.

"What is it, alpha?" I asked him, and he took a deep breath.

"Let’s talk about something serious, Aadhya. We can’t run away from the situation we are in," he said directly, and I had to accept that he was right "so you must be eighteen or nineteen years old," he tried to guess, and I rolled my eyes.

"Oh, come on, I am 20 years three months old. Am I seriously looking like a baby to you?" I asked him, offended, but he did not reply to me. Instead, a few creases of confusion appeared on his forehead.

"Are you sure?" he asked, and I looked at him as if he had grown two heads.

"Do you think I can be doubtful about my age?" I asked him in disbelief.

"I am not doubting you, but still, you can’t be 20," he said confidently.

"And what made you think that?" I asked him in annoyance.

"Aunt Amara’s timeline," he said in a matter-of-factly tone, and as I remembered the talk we had hours before with Amara, my brain actually stopped working. I want to say something or contradict him, but I can’t say anything.

"How can that be possible?" these words escaped my lips automatically.

"Exactly, If I am 27 and you are 20, then how can Shira cure both of us at the same time at different places" as soon as these words escaped his mouth, I closed my eyes and tried to take deep breaths, and Amara’s words started ringing in my mind.
