Chapter 13: Chapter 13 - A bad-ass shit

"The attacks that we faced are not the only vampire attack on the blue moon pack. The attack in which my parents died was also a vampire’s attack". As soon as I said this, Luna looked at Alpha in concern, and he tried to stay calm.

"Are you sure?" Alpha asked me, and I nodded positively.

"If I was not sure, then I don’t think I would have killed them," I told him, and he became stiff and nodded.

"I have to talk about this to the alpha king," he said to Luna, and she stood from her place. "Do you want us to take him to the orphanage for you?" Alpha asked while looking at Diego. I shook my head and encircled my arm around his sleeping figure.

"No, he will stay with me," I said, and both of them exited the room. I carefully adjusted myself to the lying position, so I didn’t wake dee. Nightmares are very common for me, but today I dreamt of my real-life memory. For once, I felt that they were with me in real and, no matter if it was in a dream, I wanted to meet them. I tried to sleep, but the pain in my wounds, especially that one which is on the neck, was so much that I was unable to sleep. After an hour of struggle, I finally gave up and waited for Diego to get up.

"May I come in?" I heard Beth’s voice and looked at the door. I nodded and gestured to her to talk in a hushed tone. She came towards us and sat on the chair "you are looking like shit," she said, and I smiled. "a badass shit" as soon as she said that, I had to cover my mouth to stop myself from laughing loudly because Dee is still sleeping peacefully. Beth also did the same, but I can see that she is relieved to see that I am fine.

"Is that a compliment?" I asked her, and she shrugged.

"Maybe, maybe not," she said and looked at Diego. "This dude cares about you a lot," she said, and I nodded.

"Mom and dad are at the borders where you were attacked" I nodded "as soon as they got information about you, their wolves lost control. For almost half an hour, they stayed in their wolves’ forms in front of this infirmary, and when the doctor announced that you are out of danger, they ran to eastern borders," she said, and I smiled.

"Thank you for coming here, Beth," I told her, and she became awkward, and for a few minutes, we sat there silently.

"Ethan also lost his control," she said and looked at me for any response, but I just shrugged. "Alpha thinks that it is because his wolf is concerned about the safety of his pack," she said, and I scoffed.

"It would be good if that would be the reason, Beth. As soon as I saw the intruders, I messaged him. He is the first person that came to my mind at that time. I messaged him instantly, but it seemed like that was the wrong decision. I don’t think it takes more than 10 minutes for an alpha wolf to reach the borders, but he didn’t come," I told her, and she became silent for a few minutes. "Forget it. I don’t have any expectations from him, but who is that wolf who came for my rescue?" I asked her, and this time she scrunched her eyebrows in confusion.

"What do you mean who saved you?" she asked me "the time when others reached there, everyone was already dead, and you were lying there unconscious on the ground, completely covered in blood" I shook my head.

"There were 15 wolves and four vampires. This is impossible for me to take down everyone on my own... and as far as I can remember, I have killed" I paused and tried to remember how many people I had killed. "4 wolves and two vampires. After it, everything became dizzy, but still, I clearly remember that someone came at the same time for my rescue when I lost consciousness." I told her, and she became silent for minutes.

"Then why we found you alone there?" she asked, and I shrugged.

"Alpha said that he has to talk about this attack to the alpha king" as soon as I said that a slight blush came on her cheeks but now as I knew Beth, I already knew the reason for her reaction "so you have got another crush for you" I teased her, and she shook her head in negative.

"He is handsome, but I am not going to have those stupid feelings for anyone other than my mate now," she said, and I nodded in approval. "5 more months, and I will be able to find my mate," she said dreamily, and I smiled.

"So, everything is ready for mate ball," I asked her, and she nodded.

"Yeah, but after the attack, everyone is on edge," she said, and I scoffed.

"No rogue or vampire will attack the blue moon pack right now when they know that many powerful alphas and even the alpha king are present here," I told her. "Maybe this attack was their last chance before mate ball to do something" she nodded, and her eyes became unfocused. As soon as she became normal, she stood in her place.

"Mum and dad came back home. I will tell them about your recovery. I will come to meet you later, addy, and yes, I’ll also message Layla and Matt about you. Don’t switch on your phone. Layla is behaving like a mad woman." she said and ran out of the room. In the evening, the doctor again came to check me up, and that’s when my little Diego woke up from his beauty sleep.

"When can I go to my place, doc?" I asked her, and she was still a little hesitant because of my near outburst earlier.

"You can go home, but you have to come twice a day for a check-up," she said, and Diego jumped in excitement.

"I will take care of her," Diego said seriously, and she hid her smile.

"Yeah, he is here to take care of me, doc," I said, and Diego nodded in approval. Diego and I exited the infirmary, and I took a deep breath... {the air without medicine felt so good to breathe} ... Dee took my right hand in his one hand and my medicines and phone in his other hand. He is not allowing anyone to come near me. His reasoning is that ’you are a patient, addy, it will hurt if they touch you.

When we were to enter the orphanage, Ethan came in front of me, and instantly Dee came in between us and took a defensive stance. "it’s alright, dee," I told him, and he glared at Ethan but complied and stood on the side.

"What the hell were you thinking, Aadhya?" he whisper-shouted at me, and I raised an eyebrow.

"Let me remind you, Ethan; I am a warrior. It’s my duty to protect the pack," I told him and looked at Dee, "and I am not like you, so I can’t avoid my duties," I said this and instantly felt anger surging from him. I took a step towards him and shielded dee.

"I am your alpha Aadhya," he said, and I could see him losing control, but this time I was not going to back away.

"You are not my alpha," I said in a deadly calm tone. "I can’t have a weak alpha who overpowered a child because of his anger. There are many things an alpha should have. Only having alpha blood is not enough, Ethan." his canines elongated, and his hands turned into claws "and don’t you dare to command dee next time," despite his deathly glare, I took another step towards him and whispered, "or I will forget that the moon goddess has even thought to pair me with a shit like you" this is the last straw for him. He transformed into his wolf, shredding his clothes. Dee tried to come in front of me, but I stopped him.

I know Dee is scared of him, but I feel nothing toward him. He is just a spoiled alpha male for me. People gathered around us; now, Ethan, Dee, and I were standing in the center. I noticed Beth in the crowd and gestured to her to take Dee with her. I didn’t have to ask her twice. She came and took Dee’s hand in hers.

"Go dee, believe me, I will take care of him" he nodded timidly and went with Beth into the crowd. Despite my pain, I took a defensive stance and waited for him to attack first, but he was growling at me.

"What is happening here?" I heard Alpha Aiden’s voice and took a deep breath... {thank God, I don’t think I would have lived after this} ... he came into the center, and when he noticed both of us, he clenched his fists, and everyone felt his alpha powers radiating from his body. "What the hell is happening here? We have a mate ball in 2 hours from now, and you are fighting here," he said specifically to Ethan in disappointment and anger. The crowd started dispersing, and the alpha looked at me. "What are you doing here?"

"I was going to orphanage alpha. Sorry for the commotion, but I am not allowing anyone to manhandle Diego. I have not told you, but Ethan has always bullied me with his friends, and I never complained, but I will never allow him to do the same with Dee. I will not back away if I have to fight with him to stop him from doing so." I said to him in determination, and he glared at Ethan.

"He will do nothing to Diego. It’s my word, Aadhya," he told me, and I glared at Ethan.

"Trying to attack a pup and a human," I heard the most alluring and dominating male voice in this world "that’s not what I have expected from your son, alpha" I looked in the direction, and my breath got caught in my throat.
