Chapter 960: Chapter 768, I didn't know it was so serious Chapter 960: Chapter 768, I didn't know it was so serious The news brought back by Xiao Xiao and Bella led to yet another twist in events.

The others had provided photos to the opposite side, rendering the fake photos he had arranged useless.

“How many people provided photos?” Wu Heng asked.

Xiao Xiao replied, “I discovered one, and Sister Bella found two.”

Bella also chimed in, saying, “I specifically checked around and found two people supplying information, both were given devices like cell phones.”

The other side was indeed carrying out this matter with organized efforts.

Glenda remarked, “It seems not everyone in the base is in your favor.”

“It's inevitable; people are the most fickle.” Wu Heng then looked toward Xiao Xiao and Bella, “Let me see who these people are.”

Xiao Xiao and Bella also delved into their bodies, and the images were directly shared.

The people in the images conducted trade at different locations.

The method was also about handing over cell phones to each other.

There was nothing particularly special about the images. Glancing at them was enough.

Releasing Xiao Xiao and Bella, he walked to the window and looked outside.

The trade between the two sides continued, each meticulously checking the other's goods.

“Uncle, are you afraid they might use your face for something bad?” Xiao Xiao asked curiously.

Watching outside, Wu Heng casually said, “Is this how you usually spend your mother's money?”

Xiao Xiao crossed her arms, “I don't do that.”

At that moment, Wu Heng's gaze shifted downward, and with a smile, he said, “Let's go down and have a look.”

“Where did they go, vanishing in the blink of an eye?”

“Damn it, deceiving me with fake pictures, you son of a…”

At the car shed, one person grumbled while looking around.

Approaching, Wu Heng saw the person's expression freeze instantly.

“Come have a smoke.” As he explained, the man's brows furrowed when he recognized the sudden appearance, then a look of surprise surfaced, “Skeleton…”

His words halted abruptly.

Wu Heng said, “Come, I'll take you to a quiet place for a smoke.”

“I, I don't smoke…” the man stammered, and his body suddenly stiffened.

He walked over uncontrollably.

As Wu Heng placed a hand on his shoulder, an Array appeared, and the two vanished in an instant.

They returned to the original room.

The man, taking in the suddenly changed surroundings, had his pupils dilate, struggling to grasp what had just happened.

His body immobile as if his limbs were tied, he tried to articulate amidst the confusion, “Don't, let's trade, live in harmony.”

“Search him,” Wu Heng commanded.

Skeletons awaiting in the room stepped forward and started the search.

Walkie-talkies, pistols, cigarettes, and cell phones were laid out one by one on the table.

“This doesn't seem to follow the rules, you know. If there's an issue, you can negotiate with our commander,” the man said, his complexion turning sour as he forced himself to stay calm and negotiate.

Wu Heng glanced at the items on the table and began examining them.

“We can talk this over nicely.”

“You can let me go first; whatever you want to do, I'll cooperate.”

“Aren't you in Shanfu Port advocating for mutual assistance? This treatment of me doesn't reflect well on your reputation.”

As Wu Heng inspected the cellphone, the man became increasingly uneasy.

He began to blather incessantly.

Wu Heng tossed the phone aside, looked at the man, and then declared, “Kill him, and let's proceed with Wenshi!”

Snap~Crack!

Before the man could plead, his neck was twisted sharply a full rotation and repositioned back.

His body immediately collapsed to the ground.

“Communicate with the dead” was cast, and the corpse sat upright again.

Its cloudy eyes looked this way.

Wu Heng asked directly, “Why confirm the appearance of the leader here?”

The corpse responded, “Not clear, the order came from above.”

They really didn't know.

Wu Heng continued questioning, “In your opinion, what could be the purpose of this investigation?”

After a brief silence, the corpse slowly began to speak.

“Skeleton Army keeps conquering Kingdom territories, and because of this, there have been several meetings inside the base. They mentioned various methods to persuade the Skeleton Leader to relinquish the land, which might be related to this.”

It was related to the Skeleton occupation of lands.

South Korea had the perception that the Skeletons cleaning up Zombies and occupying lands was akin to indirectly invading their national territory.

Previously, they had negotiated with this side, hoping to return all occupied territories to them and even promised some official position and identity.

Some details weren't remembered; it sounded like an honorary position.

Wu Heng found it hard to understand the thought process of these people. If Skeletons didn't clean up the Zombies and they didn't deal with them either, they'd just wait for the trapped survivors to starve to death bit by bit.

He cleared the Zombies, and they brought up land and sovereignty.

With the energy to not think of ways to clear the Zombies and rescue survivors themselves, they came running to collect his appearance information painstakingly.

He couldn't fathom their reasoning.

Wu Heng sat and pondered.

Three ghosts hovered to one side, quietly speculating about the other side's intentions.

One young, and the other two from a Different World, talked for a long while and concluded that it might be through facial curse or high-tech face-swapping to use Wu Heng's likeness to spread false messages or something similar.

It was possible, but the risk didn't seem equivalent.

After thinking for a bit, Wu Heng then asked, “Who could know the purpose of collecting the photos?”

“The Commander, or several department heads of the base.”

“Where are all those you've mentioned?”

“In the base.”

There was one last question Wu Heng asked, “What's your name?”

“Shen Dongmin.”

With the five questions over, the corpse lay back down on the ground.

Curious, Glenda asked, “What's the point of asking that? You gonna put up a tombstone for him or something?”

Wu Heng took out a Faceless Mask from the Space Ring and, while placing it on the corpse's face, said, “Let's go take a look at their base, we don't have time to waste bickering with them.”

Yeko Kingdom's plans, The Holy Court's targeting.

They didn't have the luxury of time to slowly investigate this matter and guess the opponent's intentions.

Besides, with modern technology, long-distance killing is even more deadly than in the Different World; they needed to resolve this issue quickly.

“Going to their base? Lilith is still on Gold and Silver Island,” remarked Glenda.

“No worries, Lilith isn't as vulnerable as we think. Plus, it's just for one night,” Wu Heng replied.

“Yeah, yeah, she's a good person,” Xiao Xiao nodded in agreement.

As they spoke, the mask finished collecting the appearance of the corpse.

Wu Heng then started putting on the dead man's clothes, and placed the phone, cigarettes, and pistol back into the outfit.

“Wu Heng, it looks like the trade outside is finished,” Bella said from the window.

He walked over to the window, saw Qi Hancai and several others stepping out of the building, chatting at the entrance.

He picked up the radio and said, “Sister Qi, come over here for a minute.”

Then, Qi Hancai's voice came through, “Okay, wait a moment.”

They waited in the room for a while.

Qi Hancai opened the door and stepped inside.

She glanced at the corpse on the ground and then at Wu Heng, who was now dressed.

“Did you have to kill someone? Is it that serious?”

“They've arranged for others to collect photos as well. I found three, deal with them.”

Qi Hancai's expression grew stern, “Who are they? I'll kill them.”

“Three Koreans. One with a square face and a mole above his lip, another in an anti-stabbing suit with a red shirt underneath, and the last one, a man with long hair tied in a ponytail who seemed to be wearing lipstick,” Wu Heng repeated what he'd seen.

“I've got it,” Qi Hancai nodded, then looked at his disguise and asked, “What's all this for?”

“I'm going to follow them to the base and check out what they're really up to,” Wu Heng said.

“You're going with them?”

Wu Heng nodded, put on the mask, and his face transformed into that of the dead man on the floor.

Qi Hancai was seeing this for the first time and her eyes widened, “Holy shit, a Face-changing Technique.”

“I'll follow them. You handle things here and wait for my message,” Wu Heng instructed.

“Alright,” Qi Hancai nodded and left the room to head downstairs.

Wu Heng stood by the window and looked down, cast the Teleportation Technique, and appeared at the previously noted car shed location.

Then he quickly walked towards the Korean motorcade.

“Damn, where did you go?” someone cursed discontentedly.

Wu Heng lowered his voice, “Using a fake photo to cheat me out of two boxes of cigarettes; I couldn't sleep all night if I didn't beat him up.”

“Enough, get in the truck. We'll be heading back soon,” the other person urged, standing by the vehicle.

Wu Heng walked up to the truck door, opened it, and climbed inside.

The others also boarded, waiting for their leader to finish talking to Qi Hancai outside.

Soon, the Korean commander and Qi Hancai parted ways; he returned to the convoy and hopped into an armored vehicle at the front.

The radio began to confirm headcount.

Once they verified there were no issues, the convoy started up and left.

At the entrance.

Qi Hancai watched the departing vehicles, her smile gradually turning icy.

She turned around to go back, her voice grave with a chill, “Close the gate. All Koreans, assemble in the square.”

Her subordinates exchanged glances as though sensing some serious matter had arisen.

Still, they nodded and acknowledged, “Yes.”

Quickly, everyone gathered in the central clearing, including the Koreans from the base and survivors who had come with them.

They formed two squads standing on the open ground.

“Sister Qi, everyone's here,” someone whispered.

Qi Hancai nodded, walked into the crowd of Koreans, and started inspecting each individual.

“You, come out.”

“And you two, come out as well.”

The three named individuals stepped forward, already sweating bullets if their nerves were weak.

Staring at them, Qi Hancai asked, “Do you know why I've called you out?”

“No clue, Leader!” one of them ground out through clenched teeth.

Qi Hancai smiled, then commanded the nearby Skeleton, “Take them and kill them.”

Everyone tensed at the sight.

They're going to kill them just like that?

The Skeletons approached, escorting the three towards the direction of some flower beds.

At this point, the trio began to panic.

“Vice Leader, I know why. I… gave them a photo,” one yelled, and the other two began to plead loudly.

“Leader, I've made a mistake too, I won't dare again,” another begged.

“Please spare me. I didn't know it'd be this serious,” pleaded the last one.
