Chapter 949: Chapter 759, Continuously Landing on the Island Chapter 949: Chapter 759, Continuously Landing on the Island Wu Heng had implemented this plan mainly to restrict personnel from The Holy Court, to prevent too many Protective Church Knights or Priests from staying on the island.
The Snake Badge Consortium was simply caught up in the misfortune.
But the local Bishop, he was pretty arrogant.
He directly invoked the Church Leader.
“We don't need to bother with them for now, let's wait until the auction ends,” Wu Heng said.
“Yes, Master,” Andre Willow nodded.
After Wu Heng had eaten, he wiped his mouth, pulled down the strap over the little fox's shoulder, and continued, “The Alchemy Skeleton has produced another type of elixir pill, take it to the association tomorrow for a potency certification, then display it on the stand.”
“Which one should be replaced?”
“The fountain pen.”
“Okay, Master.”
Wu Heng patted the little fox's pert bottom, and said, “I'm going to brush my teeth, wait for me in the room.”
Andre Willow smiled, “Okay, Master.”
Having said that, she hopped and skipped upstairs.
At the exhibition.
The fountain pen stand was taken down, and a new exhibit was put up.
News of the Island Lord's Mansion displaying new goods spread quickly across the island.
Watches, fountain pens had become bestsellers everywhere.
No matter the race or nation, all acknowledged these goods, and the various Chambers of Commerce that transported them also made a handsome profit.
Now, hardly anyone heard about any knockoff products; everyone was increasing their purchase volumes to keep selling.
This time, no one knew what new product had been developed to be showcased before the auction.
Elites arriving on the island, representatives of various Chambers of Commerce.
Residents who came to see what the fuss was about.
All of them made a beeline for the exhibition.
Crowds thronged the main hall.
The center display area was already packed with people.
Advertisements for the new products played on the screen hanging above.
A wounded warrior quickly took out a bottle, poured two white elixir pills into his hand, and swallowed them.
The next second, the wounds on his body stopped bleeding and the flesh healed.
“This time's exhibit is an elixir, for healing purposes.”
“Turning it into these little rounds is indeed more convenient for carrying.”
“Goodness, Island Lord Wu Heng is venturing into the alchemy business now.”
“Lord Island Master, first thing after making money is to improve the elixir for us.”
“Lord Island Master really is thinking about us.”
The crowd surrounding the exhibit began to discuss fervently.
Fountain pens, watches, bicycles–these products, even if designed, were unrelated to most ordinary people.
Priced too high and not necessities.
But an elixir was different; it was a matter relating to everyone.
If it wasn't a liquid, then mercenaries and adventurers without Space Rings would find it more convenient to carry this type of elixir.
If only the price could be reduced, then everyone could benefit.
So, this time's elixir improvement seemed more like research and development for the ordinary folk.
Suddenly, everyone present became excited.
Who was the Island Master? A human genius, owning the entire island.
Yet he still remembered ordinary people like them.
The earlier products must have been about making money first to fund the development of elixirs.
What a good person!
A great benefactor.
Near the exhibit, a row of Alchemists gathered around the counter.
No one discussed whether the Island Master was a good person or not, all Alchemists leaned over the counter, observing the appearance of the elixir pills, then wafted their hand close to try and sniff out the ingredients from the scent.
But all they smelled was sweat.
And the stench of the people next to them.
Yet all the Alchemists present knew.
After this, the alchemy industry was likely to see a huge upheaval.
More so than with the Mechanical watches and bicycles.
Those who couldn't keep up would probably be completely phased out.
Elsewhere.
Wu Heng sat in the Steward's Office, his gaze upon the Elf scholar standing opposite him, dressed impeccably in long attire, with a pair of silver-rimmed glasses.
Xi Ligui introduced, “This gentleman is the deputy to the leader of the Hongwen Alliance, 'Claudio,' Mr. Kelmik.”
She then introduced Wu Heng, “Island Lord of Gold and Silver Island, Jade Sea Flag Bearer, Island Lord Wu Heng.”
“Island Lord Wu Heng.”
“Mr. Kelmik.”
The two smiled and greeted each other.
Wu Heng himself was a member of the Hongwen Alliance, though he had not travelled to headquarters nor participated in any of the Alliance's associated research.
It was his first time meeting the Leader's Deputy.
And it was also the first time he'd heard of the position.
The elf deputy still bore a smile and said, “Leader Claudio has recently been immersed in researching ancient tablets and truly had no time to come. He let me come in his stead to attend this elixir auction.”
“My apologies for not considering the Leader's schedule. I hope I haven't disturbed his research,” said Wu Heng, with a hint of regret.
Whether the other party came or not wasn't really a big issue.
Sending over a deputy also showed the kind of attitude the other party wished to convey.
They still regarded him quite highly, equivalent to the Leader coming in person.
“I've only gotten to know about the development of Gold and Silver Island through the newspapers before, this visit truly is a surprise,” said the deputy in an even tone.
Wu Heng was curious, “When did Kelmik arrive on the island?”
“This morning.”
“When evening comes, the island will be even more lively.”
“Do you mean those nighttime illuminated streetlights?” asked the deputy.
Wu Heng nodded, “Yes, the streetlights, though by lively, I mean the state of the residents as well. Should you have the time, you might consider taking a stroll in the evening.”
“I look forward to this evening,” said the deputy, and then asked, “Lord Island Master, when will the auction start?”
“The event is scheduled for the day after tomorrow, and I will arrange for someone to escort you to the venue.”
“That will be fine. As for our accommodations over these two days, we leave it in the hands of the Island Master and Steward Xi Ligui,” said the deputy, still as courteous in speech.
Xi Ligui nodded and looked to one side before speaking, “Shi Yali, lead Mr. Kelmik and a few of the headquarters' staff to the association dormitories.”
Shi Yali stood up, gesturing with her hand, “Mr. Kelmik, I'll take you to see the dormitories.”
“Alright, I'll go sort out my accommodation then,” said Kelmik, standing up.
Wu Heng walked him to the door, waving goodbye.
Returning to his room.
Xi Ligui took out another letter from her Space Ring, “This is a letter from Leader Hadara to you; just how many leaders did you invite?”
Hadara was the Leader of the Sword of Justice, the Field Envoy.
Wu Heng stood up to receive it, “Just three.”
Xi Ligui gave him a disapproving look, “What do you mean just three, honestly.”
There were a total of five Church Heroes. Setting aside some conflicts with Church Heroes, he had invited everyone except one.
He made it sound as though it were so few.
Wu Heng smiled and started reading the letter.
The content of the letter was an apology for being unable to leave headquarters, commendation for Wu Heng's recent progress, and words of encouragement to keep striving.
From the content, it seemed they still recognized Wu Heng's former identity as a Field Envoy.
It seemed frequently updating the leaders proved useful wherever you were.
“The Leader also wrote me a letter, affirming the recent development of Gold and Silver Island and commending my good work,” Xi Ligui said delightfully.
“Do you know each other?” asked Wu Heng.
“Same race, plus he's the Leader of the Field Envoys, any problem with that?” Xi Ligui retorted.
Both were of the Elf Race, and naturally, those from the race who rose through the association were categorically placed there.
Being bullied by Church Heroes was largely because there was no strong backing to support them.
Not even a nation of their own.
“After the auction is over, I'll prepare a gift for Leader Hadara and send it then,” Wu Heng said.
Xi Ligui frowned slightly, “Send a direct gift? Wouldn't that create a bad impression?”
“It won't be mentioned outside, no worries,” Wu Heng replied.
As they spoke, the door was abruptly opened.
Shi Yali quickly peered in, looked at the two seated in their respective positions, and said with a smile, “Just checking you two haven't been up to any mischief.”
“What nonsense!” Xi Ligui shot back with a glare.
Shi Yali chuckled, then asked, “Coming over to watch a movie tonight?”
“Sure, just sleep over if it gets too late!” Wu Heng continued to press.
Xi Ligui gave a furrowed brow look to the bantering pair, “Let's wait until after the auction, there are a lot of people on the island recently.”
“That works!” Wu Heng nodded.
Shi Yali muttered, “Annoying, all these guys.”
Xi Ligui said, “You live on the island, anytime is good for a movie.”
“I'm just saying,” continued Shi Yali. “Tonight Wu Heng will use teleportation to bring dinner, as long as it's not discovered.”
Wu Heng glanced at her, “I'll see.”
After finishing their conversation, Wu Heng also stood up and said, “I need to get back now, to arrange the following matters.”
“Alright, go ahead,” Xi Ligui replied with a smile, nodding.
Leaving the association, Wu Heng also made his way toward the Island Lord's Mansion.
Upon returning to the Island Lord's Mansion, Wu Heng entered his study.
He poured himself a cup of tea and took out the letters he had just received to look at them again.
Two leaders, one had written him a letter; the other had sent a deputy.
How about Lilith?
He considered himself to have a good relationship with her; she couldn't possibly ignore him.
It seemed that she, indeed, had never responded to his letters before.
“That cold?”
