Chapter 807: Chapter 655, The Bet Chapter 807: Chapter 655, The Bet Zombie World.

As Wu Heng stepped out of the dormitory building, he saw a skeleton, dressed in a floral long dress and wearing a pink sunhat, entering an office building nearby.

It must have been the Zombie King that had just transformed yesterday.

It seemed to have quite a high demand for appearances, choosing clothing and hats in notably bright colors.

Meanwhile, the convoy drove over from the garage.

The door opened, and Qi Hancai said, “We're ready, we can head out now.”

Wu Heng, accompanied by a skeleton attendant and Big Head Skull, took the passenger seat.

The convoy immediately started and left the base; heading to the location for today's zombie slaying.

Wu Heng said, “Bone Demon No.2, chose a floral dress?”

“Yeah, you saw.” Qi Hancai turned her head to glance and continued, “I didn't bring any clothes with me, just found these scavenging nearby shops. It just picked that one, and the sunhat too.”

“Strutting right past me,” Wu Heng said.

Qi Hancai laughed, “Actually, it looks quite cute, not as scary as ordinary skeletons.”

“The undead dressed in bright clothes are even scarier,” Wu Heng offered his opinion.

“Are you scared?” Qi Hancai turned her head again.

“It's my skeleton, what do I have to be scared of?”

“Then I'm not scared either; it's my man's skeleton.”

The convoy reached the target location.

Zombies surged forward like a tide.

The Skeleton Flying Dragon conducted two bombings, then let the remaining zombies crash into the Spear Array.

Roars, withdrawals, and the sounds of chopping flesh echoed through the area.

Threads of Remnant Souls drifted upward.

Glenda charged forward, beginning to devour the abundant Remnant Souls.

With her current level, Glenda's efficiency in devouring Ghosts had greatly increased. She swept through the opponent's Remnant Souls cleanly in one pass.

It kind of felt like a scene from a movie where the Evil Cultivator chases Life Souls across the sky.

The killing continued until four in the afternoon.

As the zombies dwindled under the onslaught of the Skeleton Army, Wu Heng ordered to push forward, beginning to clear the remaining zombies along the road.

Next was cleaning up the battlefield as corpses were piled to one side.

[Corpse Battlefield] activated, skeletons stood up, collecting Corpse Cores into the Space Ring.

The convoy came to scavenge nearby buildings.

Qi Hancai also walked over to Wu Heng.

Wu Heng looked around and found a convenient hotel, saying, “Traveling back and forth wastes too much time, I'm going to stay here temporarily and won't be coming back with you.”

Qi Hancai frowned briefly but said, “I'll stay here with you then.”

“No need; conditions here aren't great, you head back to base,” Wu Heng said.

Qi Hancai nodded, “I'll leave a truck here, contact us by radio if you have any arrangements.”

“Alright.”

The two continued into the hotel, starting to look for somewhat cleaner rooms.

Qi Hancai helped tidy up, making it look much cleaner.

Soon after the convoy finished scavenging, Qi Hancai left a truck.

Quietly giving a couple of instructions, she waved goodbye and took the convoy away.

After the convoy had disappeared.

Three Ghosts also revealed themselves nearby.

Glenda said, “There's really no rush; we can improve slowly.”

“Whenever there's a chance for improvement, I'd like you to reach level 20 as soon as possible,” Wu Heng said.

“Thank you,” Glenda smiled and said, leaning closer to him.

Bella then said, “Lady Glenda might be recorded in history as the first Ghost to reach level 20.”

“That doesn't matter,” Glenda laughed. She was also looking forward enthusiastically to reaching level 20.

Xiao Xiao thought for a moment, then leaned on Wu Heng's shoulder, saying, “Auntie, when you reach level 20, can we take over the association headquarters then? They could help Uncle promote himself and raise his reputation.”

Wu Heng raised an eyebrow, “That makes sense. Once your Aunt Glenda reaches level 20, let her wield a sword and go on a rampage; we'll chop down anyone who disagrees.”

“Really? We shouldn't kill them all though, or else we wouldn't have anyone to work for us,” Xiao Xiao seriously commented.

Glenda glared at the two who had all her future actions planned out.

“If I do go, I'll also say you two were the masterminds.”

Wu Heng looked at Xiao Xiao, “Give me some face, no attacking the headquarters.”

Xiao Xiao agreed, “Then we won't attack, wait until we are all level 20.”

Glenda stared at Wu Heng, “Look at the child you've raised.”

Bella chuckled on the side.

The Skeleton Army outside the hotel began to adjust their formation.

Completely encircling the hotel, front to back, with Big Head Skull now stationed in the central lobby, protected by several higher-level skeletons.

After everything was handled, Wu Heng also returned to the prepared guest room.

Opened the Boundary Door and walked in.

Downstairs.

Mini also came towards him.

She said, “Master, during the day, Steward Shi Yali came looking for you but didn't specify what it was about, just that if you return, come find her at the association.”

“She didn't mention the matter?”

“No, it doesn't seem to be any case, and it doesn't look urgent either,” Mini recalled, saying.

It's good that it's not a case.

It's really Xi Ligui visiting in person, I guess it's about some evil cult again, or something about a trade delegation representative being killed.

“I'll go take a look.”

Wu Heng said, went back to his room to wash up briefly, and then left with his skeleton.

Heading towards the association.

Steward's Office.

Wu Heng knocked gently on the door before entering.

Inside the office, only Xi Ligui was tidying up the documents, also preparing to leave work.

“Did you look for me today?” Wu Heng asked, removing his hood.

Xi Ligui looked up at him, “Where were you during the day?”

“I went to train, is there something urgent?”

Xi Ligui put aside the documents in her hand and continued, “Are you free tonight?”

Wu Heng thought for a moment, “I have nothing on.”

“The Elf Race brought some ingredients, Shi Yali said she wanted you to try them too,” Xi Ligui said somewhat sheepishly.

Xi Ligui had mentioned this before, and she truly arranged it.

“To your house then?”

“If you feel it's inconvenient, booking a private room in a tavern is fine too, but the island has been quite crowded lately, it might be a bit chaotic,” Xi Ligui said thoughtfully.

“Then let's go to your place, talking in a tavern isn't convenient either.” Wu Heng said directly.

Xi Ligui looked at him annoyed, stood up to pack her things, “Let's go together then, you haven't been to my place before, right!”

“No, you didn't inform me beforehand, or I would have prepared some gifts for you,” Wu Heng replied.

“There's no need for that, it's not like we don't know each other,” Xi Ligui replied.

While talking, the two of them walked out of the office together.

They left the association and walked towards Xi Ligui's residence.

Xi Ligui's residence was located behind the association, in a separate estate.

It was a special standalone building.

Not very big; the house was a four-story mansion with courtyards in both front and back.

The courtyard gate was open, Wu Heng followed Xi Ligui through the main gate.

The courtyard was planted with various vibrant flowers, butterflies and bees flitting above the flowerbeds.

A light fragrance filled the surrounding air.

“These were all planted by Shi Yali, she likes flowers and plants, though she doesn't tend to them much,” Xi Ligui casually mentioned.

“Don't you have a steward or guards or something?” Wu Heng asked, looking around, as there was no one in sight.

“We don't have those, we're not like you, the Grand Island Master,” Xi Ligui replied.

“Let me arrange some guards for you then, what if a burglar comes when you two are not at home?” Wu Heng suggested.

“Where would there be burglars daring to steal from a steward's house, that would mean the security is really bad,” Xi Ligui laughed.

Wu Heng thought for a moment but still said, “Consider your sister too, it's better to be cautious, listen to me, I'll arrange a few to come over tomorrow, they won't disturb you, just guarding by the courtyard door.”

When Shi Yali was mentioned, Xi Ligui started to hesitate.

Still, she nodded, “Alright then, arranging two will do.”

As they chatted, they walked further into the residence.

As soon as they stepped through the door, Shi Yali, dressed in a light blue long home dress with a floating hem, came walking over.

Seeing Wu Heng follow her back, a smile also appeared on her face.

“Wu Heng is here,” Shi Yali said with a smile, “dinner will be ready soon, go wait in the dining room for a while.”

Usually, she would add a title of Grand Island Master, but today she was more casual.

“You go sit first, I'm going to change clothes,” Xi Ligui also went upstairs.

When she came back down, she was wearing an apricot yellow long dress.

A pair of glossy white thighs seemed to radiate light.

Sitting aside and waiting for a while, the dining table was filled with all kinds of delicious dishes, many varieties, each looking very attractive.

Shi Yali also came back, taking a bottle of wine from the cupboard.

Pouring for Wu Heng, “Genuine honey wine, this one's really authentic.”

“Thank you!” Wu Heng expressed his gratitude.

“Let's eat, see if it suits your taste,” Shi Yali urged.

Wu Heng began eating with his chopsticks; food from the Elf Race was generally sweet, even some dishes still had a fruity taste.

It had to be said, Shi Yali's culinary skills were indeed good.

The three of them ate and chatted.

A pot of honey wine was finished, and their cheeks had also turned a bit red.

The wine was sweet-tasting but had a strong kick.

Wu Heng was still better off, as his high Constitution made him resistant to abnormal statuses, but Xi Ligui and Shi Yali's pretty faces were covered in blushes.

“Looking ahead, do you have any plans for the island? Recently, more people have been coming to the island, and security costs keep increasing,” Xi Ligui asked directly, putting down her wine glass.

Just as Wu Heng was about to speak, Shi Yali interrupted, “Talk about those things tomorrow. It's not often you come over to our house for a meal, why keep bringing those up?”

Xi Ligui glanced back at her, “So, what should we talk about then?”

Shi Yali glanced at Wu Heng, smiling, “About the bet you owed last time, have you thought about it?”
