Chapter 1443: Chapter 1018: Training Two Heroes (2)
Skull Shanshan piled up various guns and ammunition on the ground.
Wu Heng collected them into the Space Ring.
Then, Bella flew back first, "I found some weapons and ammunition. It’s surprising how much firearms this small base has."
Wu Heng said, "It’s not unusual. In some countries, firearms are legal and sold in various shops, making them easy to acquire."
"Oh! That makes sense!" Bella nodded.
Xiao Xiao also joined in, "I also found some gold and silver jewelry here, which seems intended to trade with us."
"Take me there and collect them all." Wu Heng followed the Ghost into several rooms and collected all the valuable items from inside.
The one man and two souls came out after scavenging.
Glenda and the Lady were waiting at the door. Glenda said, "There’s something in the bishop’s room you need to see."
Wu Heng raised an eyebrow, sensing the seriousness in Glenda’s expression.
"Let’s go!"
...
Pushing open the wooden door, a musty smell greeted them inside the room.
The walls were covered with hand-drawn sun totems, with the edges of the paper yellowed and curled.
Unlike the rough crows on the outside walls, these patterns appeared much more intricate, each arc of light meticulously traced over and over.
"It’s becoming more similar, and some of the patterns appear on the Church Priest’s Divine Robe." Glenda pointed to a few sketches in the corner.
But each one was roughly the same, like a drawing done with blurred memories.
The one man and four souls looked around the room for a while, and Glenda gently said, "From the current situation, it doesn’t seem like the Holy Court intentionally influenced this place."
Wu Heng looked over, "What do you mean?"
"If the Holy Court directly influenced, it wouldn’t be so vague. It seems more like he accidentally glimpsed something." Glenda continued, "If the Divine Spirits truly noticed him, it shouldn’t have developed just to this extent."
"Makes sense too." Wu Heng nodded.
Xiao Xiao blinked, "So he had a dream and then fooled himself into becoming a believer?"
"Nicely summarized." Bella nodded.
"Let’s take the information back and discuss it later." Wu Heng said as he gathered all the information and stored it in the Space Ring.
The base had been completely turned over.
Wu Heng sat by the open door of the base, waiting.
Soon, the buzzing sound of drones came closer, and two reconnaissance drones hovered overhead.
After confirming there was no danger, the armored car and troops quickly approached.
An official they had met before hurriedly got out of the armored car, looked inside through the open door, and his Adam’s apple involuntarily moved.
The road was littered with people, some snoring, creating a strangely eerie scene.
He looked back at Wu Heng, his voice somewhat tight, "You came all the way here just to wipe out this place?"
This isn’t investigation; it’s practically annihilation!
But in his mind, he thought of the matter concerning the joint eradication of dangerous bases in the Dawn Alliance agreement.
It seemed arranged to clear this base out.
But the scene was too exaggerated. One person so quickly ended the armed force of a base.
Has the big bases become this powerful!
Wu Heng said, "I came to confirm a few things. You can take the remaining people back. You can contact Li Yahong for details."
The officer quietly breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, this person didn’t demand execution of everyone.
"Don’t worry, I will take them back and investigate their identities." He straightened up, "Do you need transport to the airport?"
"No need! Carry on." Wu Heng said.
The officer nodded, gave a slight wave, and soldiers quickly rushed into the base, waking up and detaining all the survivors.
Once Wu Heng was out of sight, Skull Shanshan descended from the sky, and Wu Heng grabbed its body, shooting up into the sky, returning to the airport.
He continued to take a flight back to Xinfu City.
...
On the plane.
After hanging up the communication with Li Yahong, Glenda and the Lady floated to Wu Heng’s side.
"I’ve carefully reviewed everything." Glenda said, "From the Wenshi situation and the intelligence gathered, it seems like his consciousness accidentally connected to some existence, much like how we use a radio and occasionally receive cross-border signals."
Wu Heng raised an eyebrow, finding the explanation quite fitting.
"You mean, this person accidentally received the Holy Court’s information in a dream, but with poor signal, the images and sounds were all fuzzy."
"Yes! That’s my guess." Glenda nodded.
Wu Heng looked at the Lady, "In terms of divine spirits and faith transmission, was there a method of transmitting through dreams in ancient times?"
"Dreams require a medium; you can’t just dream of such things for no reason." The Lady thought for a moment and said, "But I agree with Glenda’s speculation that this person unconsciously captured a faith fluctuation and mistook it as a ’divine revelation.’"
"If that’s the case, what is the medium?" Wu Heng continued to ask.
"Let’s investigate then, anyway anything related to the Holy Court, like if the Holy Court planted some magic on you, or special items, tools, or people from the Holy Court." The Lady continued, "But you don’t need to worry much, from the current look, it’s unlikely that the divine spirits have infiltrated."
Wu Heng squinted his eyes, holding some special items from the Holy Court and having captured their Priest.
It seems it really needs to be dealt with.
Can’t let the nest be swept over.
The plane reached the Xinfu City base, Wu Heng told Li Yahong about this situation, asking her to watch out for emerging sect organizations on the radio.
