Chapter 1429: Chapter 1012, You Came to the Holy Hall to Kill Me?_2
The perceptions were unleashed, allowing one to sense the guards stationed outside the door, and the various presences emanating from the adjacent houses.
In other words, more personnel had been assigned here compared to yesterday.
The Lady flew out of the door, seeing the Church Knights stationed outside. Without using ’Spirit Vision,’ she couldn’t determine their levels.
But Church Knights generally had high levels, and judging from the attires of the two before her, they were core members, at least Level 18 professionals.
Had her actions been exposed?
It shouldn’t be, she operated through a dream, unless Liz had informed the Holy Court.
However, judging from the other’s demeanor, it didn’t seem like this matter had been reported.
Steadying herself, she continued to fly around the mansion before finally stopping inside a room.
On a bed in the distance lay a priest quietly, and the Divine Robe hung at the door indicated the other’s status as a hero.
The Holy Court did indeed value this matter, even arranging a hero to guard here.
The Lady didn’t approach but returned to Liz’s bedroom.
Liz was still asleep, only her belly, covered by a quilt, could be seen writhing repeatedly.
The Lady hovered nearby, falling into silence.
Lilith provided three plans: the first was to transfer by using a pregnant animal, and the second was to forcibly peel it away.
If conditions permitted, she favored the first, allowing the former Religious Leader to reincarnate directly onto the animal.
But evidently, the conditions were not suitable now; any slight disturbance, and the hero outside would break in.
If this attempt failed, it would be difficult to find and kill the target again.
Only the third option remained.
Upon quickly making a decision, she extended her hand to point at the tumor attached to the belly. In the next second, a ghostly blue soul power emerged, pulling out the face of a middle-aged man.
After a brief moment of bewilderment and confusion, the man was about to roar.
The Lady released [Lord of Dreams], forcibly pulling him into Liz’s dream.
In the adjacent room, a clamor arose immediately, followed by the hero rushing in with the other priests, staring at the still sleeping, emaciated pregnant woman.
They conducted an investigation around and released a detection scroll.
The priest returned, saying: "My lord, nothing abnormal was found."
Hero Edmond glanced down at the pregnant woman, his eyes narrowing slightly.
He had indeed sensed necromancy traces just now; could it be a special item attached to the belly?
The priest noticed him looking at the pregnant woman, "Should we wake her up?"
Edmond hesitated for a moment but still shook his head, "No need, assign two people here, inform me immediately if anything happens."
"Yes!"
...
In Liz’s dream.
The originally bustling night market abruptly froze.
The crowd dispersed like ebbing tide, revealing the two confronting figures at the center, the soul of the Nine-tailed Heavenly Fox stood in mid-air, while the soul of Saidu distorted across.
"Liz! This is a dream, wake up and call the guard, this is a heretic...!" Saidu’s roar abruptly ceased.
With a flick of her finger, the Lady distorted his image, transforming it into the Black Fox Elder with a mixed-colored tail and blood-red demon markings.
Liz’s pupils contracted sharply, hugging the child tightly, and quickly retreated.
"Liz, you should hide as well, stay far away." The Lady’s voice was irresistible.
Liz clutched the child and ran wildly, stealing a glance back at the corner.
In mid-air, the Nine-tailed Heavenly Fox Princess still confronted the Black Fox Elder, who was visibly growing more frantic.
"Wu Heng’s lapdog, how dare you come here." Saidu shouted loudly.
He recognized the city beneath his feet.
This was the central district of Gold and Silver Island; he had been here and even chosen a site for a church.
"Saidu." The Lady looked at him with mockery, "I heard about your story, thinking you have strong faith but radical actions. Now I see, you are indeed vile and selfish, though you were a hero."
Faced with the other’s mockery, Saidu did not rebut, but said: "I’ve avoided conflict with Gold and Silver Island now, we can talk about this matter."
"Go talk to your god!" The Lady coldly uttered, then directly lunged at him.
Saidu wanted to escape, but being dragged into a dream, how could he flee?
In the next second, he was enveloped and consumed by the Lady’s soul power.
Saidu’s face turned dramatically, exclaiming in panic, "If you kill me, you’ll also die here, you can’t do this."
"I have leverage; I want to negotiate with Wu Heng."
"If you kill me, he will blame you."
Amongst cries for mercy.
Saidu’s voice grew weaker, his soul power more tenuous.
When the last wisp was devoured by the Lady, the sky brightened again.
The Lady took a deep breath.
In a flash, she appeared in the back alley of a bakery, crouching in the corner holding the child.
Seeing the Lady appear, she first jumped in fright, then tremulously asked, "Is he... dead?"
"Dead!" The Lady landed gently on the ground, "What you just saw is our secret, don’t tell anyone, including your Pope."
Liz looked down at the baby in her arms, then nodded.
The Lady’s fox tail touched her shoulder, "Let’s go, we’re heading to the seaside."
The two appeared at the port.
The waves gently lapped at the dreamscape beach, the two looked at the moonlit sea in the distance, the Lady hesitated briefly, and said: "I must leave. When you awake, there will be changes in the Holy Court; be strong like the Princess of Sky Fox, like the Queen of Yeko Kingdom... Did you hear me?"
Liz raised an eyebrow, "But I might not live that long."
The Lady looked at her, "You will not die."
With those words, the Lady vanished.
Liz gently rocked the child, gazing at the distant sea.
If this were not a dream.
Wouldn’t the Divine Country be similar to Gold and Silver Island?
...
Holy Hall Bedroom!
Outside the window, the first ray of morning light pierced through, shining on the sleeping pregnant woman.
Beneath the quilt, the blood tumor which had once writhed like a living creature had now completely solidified into a gray-white, cracked stone block, and fell off the belly it had adhered to.
With a thud, it hit the floor.
The priest who was nodding off nearby was startled awake, eyes widening as he stared at the stone embryo on the ground.
"Not... not good! The special item has fallen off!"
The priest’s scream pierced the silence, staggering toward the door.
Then chaotic footsteps were heard from outside.
Hero Edmond strode in, followed by two priests, while the other clergy remained outside the door.
Entering the bedroom, Edmond glanced at the stone embryo on the floor, picked it up and stowed it into the Space Ring, then said: "Wake her up."
Liz was rudely shook awake, bewilderedly surveying the surroundings, her gaze finally landing on her now noticeably flatter abdomen, her pupils quivering slightly.
She then looked outside, softly saying, "Greetings, my lord."
Edmond fixed his gaze on her, saying, "What happened last night?"
Liz struggled to say, "I... I was just sleeping..."
"Lies!" Edmond’s voice was even colder, "Lying to the Holy Court, do you know what that means?"
Liz still shook her head, "My lord, my health is very poor, I really don’t know what happened outside."
Edmond’s eyes narrowed, the priest’s abilities told him that this statement was not a lie.
"Take her away, let the Pope handle it at the temple."
Two priests lifted her and dragged her away, Liz was nearly choked by the overwhelming force, gazing at her swaying shadow on the ground, recalling the happenings in the dream last night.
Edmond, walking upfront, suddenly turned back to look at her, saying, "It seems you remembered something, now state it truthfully, it’s not too late, if there’s anything concealed, do you know the fate of a heretic?"
Liz looked up, a look of fear and retreat manifesting in her eyes, followed by a certain ferocity and determination.
Shaking her head, she said, "I know nothing."
"Take her away! You will speak at the destination." Edmond’s voice was even colder.
Dragging her across the courtyard, while above on the wall, three stray cats bristled and emitted warnings from a distance.
